  1. Let there be light! Yeah, and bigger areas and more monsters that don't all take 5000 bullets to kill. I always thought Painkiller was more of a Doom-game than Doom 3. And Painkiller rules. Doom 3 alone had enough pointless wandering in dark, claustrophobic corridors for a lifetime - now its time to get back to shooting and... yeah... FUN. Id somehow screwed up Quake 4 too. At first I really thought it was gonna be a great game but when I got through the first stage it got all bad. And dark. And claustrophobic. Not to mention those godawful drivinglevels that just don't fit in there... Yuck.
  2. Voice acting... ahhh.. always been one my main interests since childhood. I have no idea what's the magic behind voice acting. Maybe its breathing life into these cartoon characters. And compared to real acting its somehow more off-the-top and plain awesome. And yeah I'm quite sure it serves as great therapy. "Go into that booth, put the headphones on and act out this zombie-pirate. NOW!" As for favorites : The late great ROY CONRAD - Ben in Full Throttle, enough said. That voice just haunts me. Dang, I grew up with that stuff.. Someone already mentioned Mark Hamill, I'm also really surprised of his greatness on this particular field - you can't top Adrian Ripburger. Dominic Armato and I have to say Earl Boen, the guy who plays Dr. Silberman in Terminator2&3, but most of all Le Chuck.. awesome voice. Monkey Island 3 for life. Gotta say Jon St. John just because he is Duke Nukem. Oh yeah and that guy who does Max Payne is also great, don't know who the heck he is. For some reason I really like these deep, macho bullshit male voices. Creepy, I know. And I'm quite surprised all of these are from videogames instead of cartoons. So just to get one cartoon in there I must say Alan Oppenheimer: SKELETOR. Oh yeahh...
  3. A really entertaining and fun remix! It simply takes the original and has all kinds of creative fun with it. I like the overall BALLS in this one, especially in the really fast-paced parts. And yeah, the surfguitar carries maybe even bigger balls than the orchestra+guitar combo - awesome. Maybe not one of the most memorable tracks in OCR, but still a great, playful and most of all fun remix.
  4. I don't remember much about that game, but it was awesome. I really liked the graphics and the humor. The setting with its cool horror-cartoony goodness was just excellent. For some reason I didn't play it as much as I should've, even though I had that game. Darn.. I wanna SNES. Now.
  5. When I started playing bass I thought tabs from internet would be a good way to start and get the hang of it. After a very short while I threw them away because they only distracted me and were usually tabbed wrong anyway. So sheet music/tabs/whatever distract me, and probably if I tried to play with them today I wouldn't understand anything. By ear is the way to go. I don't usually memorize songs anyway.. I'm not interested in getting it JUST right and playing it exactly like its played on the original song. I just get the basics and DO MY THANG with it. I think its much more fun.
  6. This is just my view, but I really think that videogames are still quite strange and new to a LOT of people, and they still see that videogames are something for kids. Then they suddenly see that "Oh my god, there are zombies and blood and sex and all these bad things happening in videogames even though videogames are for kids" (which of course isn't so). They don't get that theres a rating system just like in the movies, and the people who would buy Resident Evil 4 for their kids would never take them to see an R-rated movie. But yeah, that's my two cents. And I spent it here instead of buying candy. Yeah.
  7. Can't beat the Lynch. This is definitely interesting and I'm gonna watch it but dang, theres just something extremely interesting and captivating in the Lynch-classic. I have no idea what it its, hell, it might even be Sting. Anyhow : Faatheer! May 80´s special FX and Toto LIVE FOREVER!
  8. I don't feel old, I'm just glad I've been there and seen the good old days. The first system I played was C64. I have nothing against new games but I'm still one of those "they just don't make games like they used to" guys. Back then games were just so simple and based on a one good idea. There's just something really heartfelt and passionate about those old classics. Now they're trying to make every game a huge movielike experience with big budgets and gadgets and whatnots. Thats why I really enjoy games like Super Monkey Ball, Kororinpa, Mario Party... Those laidback, simple, fun games. But yeah, on another note, I just tried Rainbow 6 Vegas and its totally awesome, can't wait to play the heck out of that one, so I really can't complain about the "sad state of modern big-budget, big business games." I just doubt that after 10 years I'm still gonna remember that game and refer to it as one of the "good ol' games."
  9. As a kid, our family had this HUGE organ/hammond/whatever vintage keyboard thingie. It had two keyboards and all kinds of pedals and buttons and stuff. And as I recall, really cool sounds. AND it was situated in my room because there was no room elsewhere. 100% real thing, not a toy. It sucks immensely that we sold it because no one really needed it. I didn't go into music until I was 13 and we sold it when I was maybe 8 or something. Too bad I didn't realise that I would start to practice the noble art of music because I could really use that bloody thing today. Plus it would look SUPERCOOL in my livingroom. Dammnn.... Oh yeah, and of course there is stuff released on the internet (including some of my stuff on this site) back in the day when the skills weren't maybe quite up to par. But then again that was back in the day and you've got to start somewhere so no regrets. Yay.
  10. Happy birthday. May this be the day when millions of guitars around the world unite in one beautiful harmony to congratulate the one warrior that conquered them all. Oh, and then : Art attaacck!
  11. Yay! TF2. Evilhorde - Hektor Gigalomantis Haven't played in a while though. On the other hand I guess its just a matter of time until I get the fever again. Damn I miss the good ol' QWTF.
  12. 12/18 The funny thing is that I guessed almost all of them. *SPOILER* I recognized only Duck Hunt and Donkey Kong and cool deduction was used in Pac-Man and the Baseballthingie.. *END OF SPOILER** All the rest were lucky guesses. Too bad this kind of thing never happens when you need it.
  13. Dude, it rocks. I've always loved this song and especially the fact that the original NES song has a freakin' heavyguitarsolo (which you've captured beautifully). I love this and its a definite winner. Can't wait to give a full review when this baby is posted.
  14. Offtopic or not, I just gotta say it: This song kicks too much ass, with or without GH3. I freaking love it. Its the only heavy metal song I've heard that goes even near the Megaman-style metal awesomeness we all love. And yeah, I guess it was OCR forums that introduced me to this gem back in the day. AWESOME. And on another note; I saw a live video on Youtube. Damn they suck. The guitarists brag about being drunk in live shows. And listening to it, I guess they are.
  15. Yeah, soccer makes me feel old. After ten minutes of running and physical performing I go all Murtaugh on everybody. But yeah, bad jokes aside, I actually don't feel old even when my favorite old skool games are "old bad games" nowadays. I still enjoy them as much as ever and to me it seems like yesterday when I used to play them back in the day. I play new and old games just as much and don't really consider them that different, so I really don't feel old. Maybe I feel TRUE because I've witnessed this stuff from the very beginning and know where it all came from. OLDSKOOL Y'ALL. They just don't make games like they used to.
  16. I agree, the show is way better at its current state. Somehow fresh and spontanious. And the beard freaking ROCKS.
  17. From Masters of the Universe. The Evil Galactic Horde. I used to dig Hordak like hell but then I came to my senses. Let's face it; Skeletor is WAY COOLER. And yeah.. no matter how cool the source of the nickname, I hate it. It was just something that popped in my head millions of years ago and then it kinda stuck. For some reason it seemed like a good idea. Now it just sounds stupid and lame. Blahh... If/when I get some new remixes done I'm thinking of starting anew with a fresh remixername. If its ok to leave my old stuff as "EvilHorde" that is... Mainly because, yes, I hate the nicnkame and secondly, I consider myself a totally different "artist" nowadays anyway.. Well, we'll see...
  18. I'm 24 now, and my friends think I'm dumb or something because I still like my old favorite shows. I enjoy them just as much as I used to, but when you add nostalgia in to the mix, I think I enjoy them even more. Of course the biggest of them all would be He-Man & The Masters of the Universe. I got all episodes on VHS from eBay YEARS and YEARS ago. Now, in the time of the mighty DVD and all that jazz, I'm stuck with a huge VHS-stack full of He-Man goodness. And yeah, I enjoyed the hell out of it still. Other old favorites I still love would be stuff like Knight Rider, Star Trek (the Kirk and Jean Luc-Picard ones), Brisco County Junior (still waiting for the Europe DVD-release DAMMIT!), Ducktales, TMNT, MacGyver, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Batman, The Bill Cosby Show... Yes, I know they're not all particularly good shows but nostalgia just has an effect on me I guess. If it sucks, I enjoy the CHEESYNESS (?). My hunger for nostalgia can be so intense that I can watch shows that somehow remind me of the good old times and enjoy them, even if I haven't seem them as a kid. If they have the 80´s feel, its probable that I get all nostalgic and like it. And I have the same effect on movies. If I liked it as a kid, its very likely that I enjoy it still. Just think; I can watch Home Alone and ENJOY IT. Yeah, thats right, you don't want to see my DVD collection.
  19. Hey, how about the first adventure/action (and alongside with Test Drive 2, the first PC) game I ever played : Prince of Persia. I'm pretty sure its the first game with... hmm... what would you call it - acrobatics? You could hang off a ledge or jump and grab a ledge and then climb up etc.. You know, the stuff that later on made Tomb Raider famous... No wait, that was BOOBIES. Would POP also have the first "advanced swordfighting"? You could actually block your opponents strikes and stuff... -YAY- Don't know, but it was way ahead of its time. Still a great game.
  20. I want few days without any school/work related stress. In the past few months its been an impossible wish. Oh yeah, and The Killers compilation "Sawdust".
  21. The intro reminds me of Baywatch... How's THAT for constructive criticism?
  22. SO - LID. Thats all I have to say.. oh yeah and then there is this : I really like it. I don't remember the original tunes from Cool Spot but I loved that game. This remix is good for the ears and to the soul, it just floats around and keeps the good vibe rolling. And I love the fact that its "repetitive". The same theme keeps coming over and over and leads to a grande finale it really deserves.. Beautiful. And nice touch with the synth guitars... or whatever. Thanks!
  23. Quoted for emphasis you knowwwwww and then the guy comesoutand...
