  1. Holy shit. He's like the only wrestler I actually knew back in the 80's (him and Hulk Hogan, of course). He's also the only guy who could possibly convince me to watch the stuff, too. Now my future as a late blooming wrestling buff is ruined. RIP, Randy.
  2. Awwwwwww damn. Didn't say Happy Birthday here. Ah well, I said it on FB, so it still counts (I think). Happy birthday!
  3. It'd be lovely to attend if I could afford it. Unfortunately I don't think I can. I'll try to attend the Video Games Live, though.
  4. Indeed. Aren't u frightned?
  5. Oh hello, thread. Actually I've been diverted from this little project for some time. Technically Neblix' method will work, but I'd love to avoid the work involved in that method if I can. The option doesn't come up on my computer, so it's still a pickling situation - as I said, I've done it before, it's just Windows 7 that gives me trouble with it. Perhaps I'll try getting an older driver for the computer to get the option to appear, when I have the time.
  6. Can't wait to see you get down with some sweet Cello action (maybe). Especially since you're not in my bracket, so I don't have to worry about you until the finals
  7. Love the idea behind it, but I do wonder what they use to change the phasing of the rectangle waves. By the looks of the video there was no way to change it, but they have to have something incorporated to make that sound. It'd be daft to say something was using NES hardware if you couldn't use all of the hardware. I also noticed the issues with the triangle wave. Hopefully these issues are resolved someday.
  8. Sweet God, my ears! Turn that sine wave down, please, it's very painful to listen to right now. From what I heard (I had to skip around due to that sine wave - I can't physically listen to it), the mixing is a bit odd. There are little background noises that should remain in the background popping out more than the melody that bug me in particular, but the whole thing sounds very strange, The whole mix sounds very, very high heavy. Please tone down the highs (especially the strings and, as mentioned before, the sine). Fix the sine. I can give it a proper listen + critique after that, but I can't listen to this without risking my mixing ears, as it is .
  9. Oh yes, please do post a sample of your work. I can assure you I would very much enjoy stealin' your ideas. ... on the other hand, if we DO somehow use the same techniques or whatnot I don't want people to think I actually stole your ideas, so I guess it's best you don't show your stuff off here. We've got to wait a week to see how badly I beat you, so be patient.
  10. My title is 'I haven't thought of a title yet because I'm spending too much time making an awesome remix'. I'd give you the same advice as Draconiator... but I want to win this round. Or should I say, 'wind' this round. OH, you see what I did thar?!
  11. It's moving along nicely, actually. It's a bit more minimalistic than my normal approach, though.

  12. Man, I was thinking the same thing, lol. Then again, many of us will get the better part of our remixes finished be the end of today simply because it's the weekend. Alas, work can get in the way of making awesome remixes. That being said, be sure to at least look over your finished remix sometime like Wednesday, Draconiator - fresh ears can do wonders for any remix.
  13. I'm sure it'd feature such shows as 'Larry the Liontamer LIVE', 'Life of a Pretzel' and of course 'The WIP Files'. The TV specials could be something like 'Unmod - Catastrophy or Community?' and 'Who Hacked OCR?'. We'd all tune into it on a regular basis, being the OCR regulars that we are.
  14. And that's a problem because...? There's a lot of energy in this compo. Let it run it's course - people that are excited about their product tend to produce better results. Also, my track will be awesome... I think. I'm working on some new mixing strategies, so it'll at least be very different from my normal remixes. NINJA'd by Willrock. You 'tard, stop stealin' mah posts.
  15. It's not against the rules to have more than the two sources chosen as long as the two chosen sources are highly represented in it as well. I know because I asked DS about it in the GMRB, so go Knight man crazy.
  16. Haven't thought about it yet - in fact, I just found out a few seconds ago. It shouldn't be too bad, though; I'm familiar with both sources and with the mixers style, so I think I'll be in pretty good shape. I'm more worried about the Windman vs Sparkman matchup next round, if you catch my drift ;)

Devastus is probably going to clean my clock, but I'll give it the good ol' college try :P

Good luck with Heatman, by the way.

EDIT: When I said GuitarHeroe wasn't going to be too bad, I meant it's going to be the closest battle in the compo, lol.

  17. We all wear our sigs with pride. I thank thee, NintendoGC. Alrighty, let's see what this competition has in store for us all. Time get this compo on the road .
  18. No problem - I enjoyed it quite a bit. As for what I dreamed, it involved me crashing my truck and waking up to call my dad to say I crashed my truck... then I woke up. Weird part is, I don't own a truck, and yet I still had the urge to call him about it.

...Yeah. Awesome albeit excessively knobby experience, for sure.

  19. You will one day be sued for this breach of copyright law. But God, would it be worth it.
  20. Happy birthday, man. I would totally make a chiptune arrangement of the Happy Birthday song in your honor, but it's a copyrighted song so I can't.
  21. Oh hey I got Windman... Interesting - a week after I picked my selections I really wanted to get Windman but was too lazy to bother with changing it, lol. Also I'm in the first bracket. Can't wait to see who I'm paired with (although I can see a few that I hope I'm not paired with, ). Alrighty, let the games begin!
  22. Oh yes, I remember this one from the WIP forum ages ago. In fact, just a few days ago I was wondering if you guys submit this one. Very awesome track here - it has a great balance of cheese synths and awesome soundscape. You gotta love stuff like this, with all the chiptunage, sound effect, intricate soundscape. Just... it's just good stuff, here. BTW, the meter change at the end seemed to be building to a very interesting groove. Shame you guys decided to just cut the song off there.
  23. In the beginning of this track, the soundscape sounds a bit thin. The strings are very thin, in particular - perhaps some octave doubling and/or flute doubling will give it the strength it needs to fill the space better. Other than that (and what's been said, of course), this is kickass. Definitely enjoyed the verbatum approach on this one (you really stuck with the unconventional harmonic style from the source and made it work, which I applaud you for), but as Rozo said that won't get you on OCR. You're already aware of that, though, so I won't worry about it too much. ... yeah, great arrangement, bro. I loved it.
  24. Sorry for the late non-record shattering donation. I was a part of the super-tight-no-more-money group. Still am, but I can't let a year go by without giving anything to the site. Use my ten bucks well, DjP.
  25. I can't speak for Bahamut, but I think he wanted to keep things within the regular MMX canon, for the album (the MMZ track is a bonus track). Shame I didn't pick this game up back when I had a GC. Ah well, I can't go kicking myself for every game I didn't get.
