  1. Balls-to-the-walls awesome, dude. I couldn't imagine the source put to better use (and considering the source itself was on my playlist for the longest time, that's something). Great work - I'm downloading this immediately
  2. lol, I remember that... Hilarious shit there.
  3. Aw, sadness. I've been rather entertained by your posts for the short time I've been here (even though the only one addressing me was a hostile one about voting for yourself... lol). Hopefully I'll see you around in the compos on R:TS, but if not, sorry to see you go.
  4. Diotrans - she sang the music (and quite well, might I add ) Nice version of Ubi Caritas, man. Very pretty and clean . It sounds very Celtic (I love Celtic music - it is the shit). I sang a version of it when I was in Choir (which was also a good rendition).
  5. Where? Are you going to PM us with the forum info?
  6. Alright, I've always said this - MM3 doesn't get enough love here on OC... lol. Ah Gemini man, the man with a lot of untapped potential, let's see where you take him... First thing I notice is that the instrument that come in at 0:25 causes a great deal of overcompressed clipping. I think that instrument could use a decrease in volume, as it just shoots out there over everything else. The drums at 1:00 seem to cut off the little tune a half beat too early - it's upsetting. I think the instrument before the drums come in actually has a quiet attack, so you can't tell what the real beat is beforehand. Look into that. I like the instruments at 1:00, but at this point the bass drum's deficiencies become rather obvious. There is no punch behind the drums at all, and the clap should be replaced with some sort of cool electric snare or something. I think that instrument that plays the theme at 1:03 has a touch too many highs in the EQ for the range it plays in, so it really muddies what the theme your playing. I don't know - perhaps just moving the line up an octave would help the sound a bit. The instrument at 1:34 just doesn't seem to work well for me (again, it meshes too much with the other instruments that are there). I like the square you use The break at 2:53 was excellent. The music really jumped out at me, there. Be careful with the drums - in a song that's almost 5 minutes long people begin to notice that it virtually hasn't changed the entire time. That makes the drums sound like they're droning rather than enhancing the music. Play around with changing the beat up from time to time - that way when you return to the boom-chick sound it'll sound fresh and new again. The arrangement is alright, albiet a little sparce. The production needs some work in order for people to appreciate what you have, though. Good luck. BTW Motoldm, it's poor etiquite to hijack a thread like that. If you want people to critique your music, make a new thread for it.
  7. Oh hell yeah - Azure Tower Defense for WC3. That was the shit, man... That stuff's been around forever (that came with the expansion of WC3, so it's been around for at least 6 years).
  8. If you have some burning questions you could try playing something that highlights your questions, as long as you understand that you may miss something that you didn't know about and the person could have pointed out if you weren't as focused. Both approaches are fairly reasonable - hey, you could ask the question before you play, then play something general and find out if he has anything else to say about your technique. Any of these are fine - you'll learn from him in any case so relax and enjoy your time in the master class.
  9. The latin lyrics are actually very common (and very old) - look up 'Lux Aeterna Lyrics' on Google and you'll find what I was using I'm glad you liked it, though .
  10. I hate you and your chip-tune abilities... I guess that's the natural reaction of jealousy, though. Sweet song, Sam - I actually thought you were showing music for some secret town in Mario Kart for a split second, lol. Cool, eh?
  11. I might tinker with the vocals a little bit, thanks for the heads up Your track isn't bad, dude - I enjoyed it quite a bit. The only problem it has is that it's a wav file - which makes it impossible for me to listen to the whole thing .
  12. Casual? Meh, it just doesn't get into all the technical terminology. It doesn't have to all the time, though - sometimes the most interesting things in music can be explained in simple ways. Hey, if you write a song with this, DjMokram, share it!
  13. Thanks again for the vocals - I don't know what I would've done without you .
  14. It's a real shame no one is paying much heed to this track (except HoboKa & SoulinEther - they're cool like that ), 'cause it's a damn fine metal track. You made the synth work more noticeable - nice work with that. That next section is incredible, dude, and the segue into Area 4 was perfect. That was a great song too... then there's another fadeout . The sound of this is great, man - I really, really can't wait to see what else you've got going for us. Be aware that you should probably incorporate the themes together in some clever ways - what you have is good, but OCR has something against music that sounds like a medley. I'd say your music is really a borderline case, as it sounds natural, but to be safe try incorporating a bit of Area 1 into your Area 4 section (which is coming up). The synths sound like they have some harsh artifacts in them - see if you can clear those up . EDIT: Wait, your already aware of those... my bad . Otherwise, this is great stuff. Keep it coming - I hate being left with a fadeout.
  15. Not much into the synths, personally, but you know what? The solo is really awesome! The arrangement is great, good solos, sweet source - this all makes it worth listening to, even if you don't like the synths used
  16. Alright, it's finished. If you want to hear it, it's here Thank you very, very much for the vocals, Diotrans - they were perfect for the part .
  17. Hey all! I was shouting in Community about a female vocalist, so I figured I'd better show you guys the finished product for helping me out. Diotrans did the vocals, and it came out great Lux Aeterna
  18. Thanks for the help, everyone! I found something that works well from this, so the help is appreciated!
  19. Hahahaha... I just heard the Mario coin that everyone's mentioned. Nice touch - I seriously didn't hear them before. By the way, you need more of the sliced female voice in this (like the one at 0:56) - it is sexy. I think I hear some over compression at ~2:28 with the drums, but I can't be absolutely sure (it's very minimal, if it's there at all). My god, it's all like a sweet, sweet euphony of Electronic & Orchestra sex. Chiptune walks in and finds out about Electronic's infidelity and, instead of repremading, it joins in to create an orgy like no other known to man. You know what I'm talkin' about, here. If this doesn't get direct posted, I don't know what would.
  20. Preferably free? I'm using Audacity, which works well enough if 128, 160 or 192 Kbps is good enough, but there are a few tracks that I have which would benefit greatly from VBR compression. Anyone know of some (free) programs out there designed for that?
  21. Sorry it took me so long to get to you with this - I've been using restricted computers that don't let me use flash players. Alright, let's see... Well, I like the feel. The flute is great, the piano fits well and the rest of the instrumentation is spot-on. The arrangement is pretty much there. There are a few little things that need to be addressed, but it's pretty sweet, atm. The piano is a touch bland, as it is right now. The notes it plays are fine, but there isn't enough 'touch' behind them (meaning it's a little inhuman). Without the humanization, the piano part becomes a bit muddy. The flute is fine, but sometimes it gets drown in the mix (like at 2:19). Bring the flute out a bit more, when you need to. I really like the subtle strings in the background - they help fill out the piece a lot. The mix is alright, although the mastering sounds like it could us a bit less in the mids and a touch more in the highs (not too much, though - it's almost there, as it is). Otherwise, I have nothing to say. This is a very well done mix, as it is.
  22. Well, there ya go - you've got a chill streak going, Rozo. The last F-zero mix you did was rather chill, this one is very chill, and you've got a Chill Penguin mix in the works (which was pretty chill, if I recall). Chilly. I like chilly, and I like this song. The instruments are a touch 'meh', but otherwise it goes down pretty smooth .
  23. I'm on the same boat as Meteo Xavier - there've been so many projects up here in the past week... Hopefully you'll find what your looking for, though!
  24. Oh Willrock - you jokester you. I was really looking forward to a theremin remix, there.
