  1. Hey guys, I have a problem. Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is about the lamest port of a DotA hero EVAR? Also, where by God's good graces is KING LEORIC?
  2. Always enjoyed your music, often respected your opinions in the dreaded off-topic realms. Gonna miss ya, dude. Good fortune to you and yours!
  3. Haven't seen the film yet, but the comic was pretty good. I'm happy to hear all the positivity about the film, though.
  4. I'm no stranger to fasting, but heck, it's been a little while. Happy fasting, my buds.
  5. Thanks dude. Just PM me if anything happens.
  6. Howdy people, I'm up for team 2, if you kids will have me. I'm tryin' to sign up now, but but jeeze.
  7. I have and always will use "Static Aversion" as my ringtone. Radio static forever.
  8. I often come back to this song. It is easily my favorite CT remix on the site, and possibly at the top of my list overall. The feelings of warmth and sincerity that go along with the themes of great adventure and loneliness in this song are moving at the very least, and the most this song expresses one of the fundamental trails we all go through as we come of age. A fine, heartfelt interpretation of excellent source material and a true example of what a wonderful thing a ReMix can be.
  9. Hot tap-dancing Jesus born again, it IS Tyler Heath! A Crimas miracle, says I! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and good cheer all around. Also, I spent days looking for your complete artifact of power series on the web a few months back. So worth it. <3 Edit: Also, just played those seasonal tunes on our show. Righteous, dude.
  10. Om nom nom Eidos collectors pack for 50. Arkham Asylum + hitman + others. I <3 steam.
  11. I'm not sure what this says about me, but sometimes when I'm stalking about my college campus, I get a VERY "Left 4 Dead" feeling. It's probably a good thing I don't own a firearm, because there are several occasions where I'm all alone and I suddenly, out of nowhere, a horde comes at me in a claustrophobic corridor. I hate it when classes get out right next to tiny hallways...
  12. Despite my level of unworthiness, I shall also be attending. I look forward to finally meeting somebody (see ANYBODY) from OCR in the flesh .
  13. Every time I go on a road trip, I crave Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I swear, I get three miles outside of town and BAM, I suddenly wanna be roaming through that all too familiar castle again.
  14. I think this about did it for me. I now feel like a dumbass. =D Ah well.
  15. I think that is what I'm getting at, yeah. I guess before we go any further, we have to define what a good game is. Feel free to disagree with me, but I'd call a game good if it's deep OR challenging, and I'd call a game great if it was both. By and large, I'd say that most games aimed at your "casual gamer" aren't all that deep. Yes, they can be very challenging, and some can have certain level of depth or complexity, but by virtue of being designed for the "casual gamer" they won't ever be great. I'd say a lot of casual games are pretty good, but they lack that something that can make a game truly astounding. And since there are more and more casual games being produced and less overall games hitting the market, well, hence my first post.
  16. Happy Birthday, Mr. Pretzel. Here's to you!
  17. Well, I agree with you insofar as there aren't really casual gamers (I use it for lack of a better term), but my fear is that people trying to appeal to "casual gamers" are drawing resources away from what *COULD* be good games. In reality, you're right, crappy games are probably just drawing resources away from other crappy games. Still...the face of gaming is changing.
  18. Hey kids, long time no see! So, I've been chewing on this idea for a little while now, and I'm sure it's already been covered here on the forums since people here are normally quicker on the draw than I am, but here it is: I feel like the Wii, with it's draw to the masses of "Casual Gamers" and other systems with their attempts to become more user friendly, has changed gaming forever. And right now, it doesn't look like it's a good change. And I'm not putting credit entirely on the Wii. I mean, it's just good business to want more customers, increase sales, and make more money, but I think that the Wii is the first to do it right. I might just be riding my nostalgia a bit here, but despite the impressive capacity that games have for visuals and interactivity nowadays, there have been very few games that really "wow" me. And I like to think of myself as a fairly easy to please guy. Sure, a lot of games are okay or even good, but I think that with wider appeal video games now have, the "Great Game" may be a thing of the past. Thoughts and opinions? And yes, I know Yahtzee has talked about this subject before in some of his reviews, and no, I don't care.
  19. Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there was any word on when a new torrent for the remixes up through 1800 is gonna show up? It's been a while since 1001-1700 got released and I was just curious if we could look forward to a new one soon or if I should resign myself to downloading the songs one at a time. So yeah, any info would be great! And yes, I searched before posting, but if I missed some relevant info, please forgive me.
  20. A. Definitely. I picked up Metal Gear Solid 3, and despite it being INSANELY difficult, I can still beat it on the hardest difficulty. After at least 30 hours of gameplay, I still cannot beat Mega Man 2. If you ask me, they HAD to make games harder back then to make them last longer. When you've got several gigabytes worth of space and 8 cell processors to make a game with, you can easily replace "difficulty" with "length". Back when you were working with a 1.8MHz processor, you kinda had to make things hell to beat.
  21. I knew I got out of PPR for a reason this morning. Ahh...the smell of an inquisitive soul. I believe that although it might be obvious, I believe that one picture sums up Light and Dark in video games. I think that they represent a struggle between equally powerful but conflicting forces. To me, dark and light, good and bad, etc, are just points of view. Although your little protagonists in RPGs are normally leaning towards morally good behavior, they're only there to maintain the balance when something of equal "bad" magnitude happens. Right place right time, if you ask me. Maybe there should be a game where you're a super evil group of adventurers trying to overthrow the overly just and good kingdom.
  22. Maybe SEGA is trying some subtle social commentary about 90s vs. 00s culture and overall paradigm. =O
  23. Aw crap. I just saw this and figured I'd post a thread, but like a good little boy I had to check first and well, here it is. Oh well...spread the love, kids! I freakin' love this video!
