  1. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Zelda 64 Oblivion Mega Man 2 Banjo Kazooie Soul Calibur 2
  2. Well, I was so darn inspired by all the Christmas music threads and by one song that happened to begin playing, I figured I'd start my own little Christmas music thread. My radio show happens to air on Christmas eve this year, and I'm thinking it'd be mighty appropriate to play a bunch of video game holiday music. I have a coupla songs picked out, but I'm gonna need help getting the rest of the songs together. Basically, there are some holiday remixes out there, and I don't know them all. I'm pouring over my archives right now, and I'll hopefully be done by Christmas eve, but if anybody knows some remixes off of the top of their head and are willing to share them with me, I'd be much obliged.
  3. I'm looking forward to this. I hope all goes well for you!
  4. I'd give it a solid "meh". But I'm not really into machinima thing.
  5. "Dark Promise" indeed. To be perfectly honest, I liked everything about this mix. It's sorrowful, remorseful, and maybe a little blackened. And the music box at the end...man, it just feels right. Enough of my gushing, though. It is a little conservative when it comes to the melody, but with a source as good as this one's, it doesn't bother me much. It does feel a little restrained like mDuo13 said, but to me that simultaneously adds and detracts something. On the plus side it keeps things simple and I think that this mix benefits from that bit of minimalism, but on the downside it feels like you could have made a much more complex and interesting piece with this as the foundation.
  6. I say good, but not great. A solid techno mix, but a little to close to the source for my tastes. I love the intro, though, and nothing specific in this mix really bothers me. It just isn't stellar.
  7. I too am unfamiliar with the source (maximum velocity is the only f-zero game whose OST I haven't heard ), but I LOVE what you've done with this. The sound effects in the beginning are great and lead into a great reggae/dub mix. In a perfect world, I'd drive with this playing in a GTA game. Kudos.
  8. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I really liked the little interlude from 1:04 to 1:25, but the rest of the mix really kinda turns me off. The percussion in the beginning and the end, especially the drums, doesn't sound that great to me is a little overpowering. I don't particularly like the horns, either, but I think they fit with what you're going for here.
  9. I'm unfamiliar with the original, but I really like this mix. It's very subdued and sets a good mood, and strikes me as one of those songs that I could play on loop for hours and not get bored of. Great job!
  10. This one is pretty conservative. Although I really like the feel of the music, it's just too short and doesn't deviate enough from the source to be overwhelming. Good and fun, but not great.
  11. I honestly don't know what to think. I see an exclamation mark and I think the "alert" sound, and I see that green (although red is more appropriate) power symbol and I think 360. The 'i' confuses me...but the iPhone is a good guess, I think. It could be both. This might be saying that the next Ac!d game is coming out for the iPhone and MGS4 will be out for the 360. I love symbolism and ambiguity
  12. Man, I can't believe this one hasn't gotten more love. I've heard this remix probably 20 times in the last couple of weeks and I love it. The thing that stands out most are the sound bytes, which are great and well placed. I think that they contribute something big to the feel of this track as well. It's a unique piece, and one of my personal favorites.
  13. After listening to this and the source a couple of times on loop, I've decided that I really like what you've done with it. The remix is intense, has a smooth flow to it, and really plays up the "confrontation" bit. Absolutely love it.
  14. At 0:30 when the beat jumps in, I start digging this remix. The piano in the opening is nice, but lonely and very robotic. I'd look for something with a little more flourish or something to accompany it. Other than those first 30 seconds, though, I'm a HUGE fan of this one. Solid, right up to the end.
  15. My friends all rave about this movie, but all that raving has really turned me off to it. I'll probably see it at some point...but after getting serenaded by some questionable individuals, it will be a while.
  16. Took it, liked it. Good luck on the class. Wish my university offered something like this
  17. I think Sega should pull a "Mega Man 9" and release some good 2d sonic games for the virtual consoles and not all this 3d stuff. The last 'next gen' sonic game I played was Adventure 2: Battle, and the only parts of that game that I liked were the chao farms and the music (as cheesy as it could be). I'm done thinking about sonic in 3d.
  18. Wait, is this the real Batman? Because a friend of mine told me that Bruce Wayne isn't Batman any more and they got a new guy. So is this Bruce Wayne or the new guy I'm hearing about? In either case, really?
  19. Perhaps the greatest thing I've played all year. I'm in love with it.
  20. My show happens to fall on christmas eve, and I believe I just found something to play. =D Happy times.
  21. Black Friday Blues suck. Whoever decided that it would be a wonderful idea to make a bunch of retail store workers get up at 3 AM and give service to people crazy enough to wait outside their stores at 4 in the morning should be shot. I'm so glad I got out of retail...
