  1. I have to disagree. If brawl had Simon Belmont, then it would be a fanboy's dream. At least, this fanboy.
  2. Because of the crazy ass difficulty on RD, I haven't beaten it yet, but as far as the story goes for PoR...no, nothing worth playing the game for. When I played PoR I was in an "advance wars/Fire Emblem" TBS game frenzy, so I pretty much overlooked the story in exchange for the game play. In that respect, I was fairly satisfied.
  3. I feel the same way. Everything about Halo 3 just disappointed me. The online was an improvement over Halo 2 in term of balance and new weapon selection, but it wasn't groundbreaking or new or even interesting in any way. The campaign was bland and the story sucked...I dunno. It just didn't do it for me. I feel that Halo 2 is in every way (except for maybe graphics) a better game. But that may just be me.
  4. Oh holy crap! If I'd known earlier I could've made the trip down... I'm a Portlander and I was gonna go to Eugene anyways for a party but plans changed. Dammit! Looks cool though. I wish you the best of luck on the day of your premier!
  5. Can't say I'm too excited. I found the "Final Fantasy Chronicles" for $20 and I say Chrono Trigger is just as good on TV as it is portable...plus I got FFIV with it as well. I don't think I'll be touching this one.
  6. Holy cow my excitement for this project is rebuilding! Holy crap! Woo!! You guys rule!
  7. So, it looks like they're remaking the first Fire Emblem game for the DS and that it's coming out for the U.S. sometime next year. I think this is pretty sweet. I'm a big fan of the Fire Emblem, and I'm stoked that they're making another 2D one instead of more of the 3D ones...So yeah! Thought I'd share. Also, if there is a thread about this, I missed it. If that's the case, my bad.
  8. Holy crap! I go history diving and look what I find! A bump for sweetness and kudos for doing such an awesome job. I've long loved the tarot lore and I've longer loved video games...finally, something that combines the two!
  9. Speaking of Castlevania, the hardest boss for me in that series (besides Death in the first one, whom I've never beaten) was Dracula + Death in "Portrait of Ruin". I may have been underleveled, but it took me 5+ healing items on my 20-somethingth try to finally beat them. I was pleasantly surprised by the difficulty. Still need to play Ecclesia, though. I'm excited now with all this boss ass-kickery I'm hearing about.
  10. Okay! Friended and stoked. Love your work, dude. "Ken Song" is one of my favorites.
  11. Because I simply cannot time jumps, the dragon from wily's castle castle in Mega Man 2 was the most frustrating boss in that game for me. In terms of hardness, Dr. Wily kicked my ass up and down to next christmas in that game. Man...
  12. Holy crap. I've been listening to this song ever since I dl'd the torrent, but for the longest time I thought it was a song by the Clash. I mean that as a compliment of the highest order, and I love this song. Great job.
  13. No way. You're such a liar. It's a good thing I got a pirated copy of this project from a Hong Kong DVD dealer way back when I did. Suckers!
  14. I'm really liking how this is shaping up. V3 is excellent, and that added 43 seconds is solid stuff in my opinion. From 2:04 to 2:21 sounds a little empty...there doesn't feel like much is going on there. It fits with the progression of the mix, and I'm not sure what I'd put in there give that little bit a richer feel, but it just feel like something should go there...I dunno. The rest of it, though, is pure sweetness. Especially the new ending.
  15. I may be a little biased because I have actually been waiting for another morrowind/oblivion remix. But I like to think that I keep my expectations fairly high, and this mix definitely met them. An appropriately named song, well executed, and above all else very nice to listen too. I especially like from 1:57 to the end of the song. A solid mix, I say. I tend to agree with DragonAvenger in that the mix didn't really "wow" me, but considering the source material, I don't really think that's a major drawback. "Reign of the Septims" isn't really a wow piece to begin with, in my opinion.
  16. So, there this website where you can play Risk online. Because I'm a pretty boring person and most of friends aren't, I don't play Risk a whole lot in real life. So this website is nice for me. But I swear, I have the worst damn luck when it comes rolling dice in that game. You don't actually roll, it's a random-number generator thingy that rolls the "dice" for you, but nonetheless it really dicks me a lot of the time. Anybody else like Risk or, god forbid, play the online version?
  17. I'm personally very wary of this. After so many games that disappointed me, and considering Rare's recent track record...I just don't know if I can do it. But...there is a lot of positivity on this thread so far, so I might just try that demo out. I loved everything about "Banjo-Kazooie", I'll have to give it the benefit of the doubt. But I swear, if it's another "Perfect Dark Zero", I am going to cry.
  18. Ho-ly crap. I'm excited for this one! I wonder when it takes place?
  19. Oh dammit. I'm not at all happy about this one
  20. I had to back and listen to the original for this one. I'm not all that familiar with Sagat's music, but having reviews both the mix and the source material, I love what you've done here Mustin. It is, like everyone says, extremely funky. A solid mix, and in my top five "Songs I could listen to for hours on repeat without killing someone". Good Job.
  21. So I read some stuff about the Watchmen movie from one of the guys who got to preview some of the footage. It's got some spoilers, but it's a pretty good read. The thing that struck me most was that they're supposedly not going to alter Dr. Manhattan's voice after his transformation. That strikes me as kind of odd, since his speech in the comic is...well, blue. Here's the link: http://kstc45.com/article/stories/S609385.shtml?cat=11147
  22. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this (that I saw). The Silent Hill games (especially 2) have amazing music and sounds that set the atmosphere of the game. Hell, the games are pretty much all about atmosphere and how god damned scary a little fog can be. This video isn't a great example, but I think it does the trick =D
  23. Look in the FAQ. Here is the link! http://www.ocremix.org/info/Frequently_Asked_Questions#Isn.27t_this_music_copyrighted.3F
  24. A beautiful, fun platformer with a good sense of adventure, I say. Fun as hell, great music, good levels, etc. The thing I like most about this game is it's attitude, though. It really doesn't take itself seriously, and the style so gentle and endearing!
