  1. I knew it. That's the real reason Team Rocket is after him, isn't it? They peddle pokemon parts.
  2. Alright, I have to ask: What the hell DON'T you know about pokemon? I swear I could ask you how much Pikachu testicles are worth in the Sinnoh Black Market and you would instantly reply with the answer.
  3. Was just figuring up some possible movesets for my brand-new Celebi (thanks again to The Damned) and I have run across something interesting: It seems that in Gen V, Giga Drain has a base power of 75 rather than 60. Serebii has it listed as this as well. But, there is no Giga Drain TM in Black/White. If it is 75 instead of 60 it would be preferable to Leaf Storm (accompanied by Nasty Plot), but if I teach it to Celebi now, will the power change from 60 to 75 when I trade it over? I would think so, but I'd like to be certain.
  4. Does the X-rated version continue on to show variations of shaking the Wii-mote? Waggle waggle.
  5. Question: I'm going to be getting Oshawott to breed it for other OCR poke-players, so as discussed it would be best to get a female. The question is, when in the game are the sexes and natures of the starters determined? Right before you open the pokeballs to select your starter? When (or if) you use the pokemon first to defend someone or yourself? Right when you start the game? This would be helpful to know so I could save right before that point, allowing me to turn off the game and restart as many times as needed so I can get a female.
  6. Speaking of which, is anybody planning on getting an extra Celebi or two? I doubt I'll be able to get one, and I'd like to have it for the Black/White event. Will trade something comparable for it...
  7. Nuts and Bolts was the BOMB. I hope this doesn't happen, but they have been pretty quiet compared to their competitors so I wouldn't be shocked if it does. Still, a depressing possibility indeed.
  8. Hopefully the 3DS Lite release will coincide with the existence of a decent 3DS library. That's when I'll get the original at a discounted price. $250 is steep enough with a good launch library, but it's way too much when there won't even be anything that I'd play for more than aesthetic reasons.
  9. Exactly. The only possibility that would have the potential to be cool would be to have three or four endings (including their own separate final stages/levels) that are epic in their own right and then let the consumer pay for the one they like most. If they want to buy all of them that's their deal. Example: (Mass Effect Spoiler Alert) Instead of going through the Citadel and fighting Saren at the end, you could somehow break into Sovereign and fight his brain or something.
  10. Nah, the explanation was fine the first time. And it would be fine if they did that if they dropped the price of the core down to about thirty or forty dollars for a brand new release. I just don't have that much faith in them. I could even see them selling multiple plot endings (which in a way would be cool) but for the most part could turn into a big pile of poo.
  11. "Make sure none of the constituents are important to the plot/game outcome?" (Paraphrase) I do NOT have that much trust in proven vampires. But, if it somehow did happen in that sugary-coated way, I'd be more than cool with it. Like you said, it would be an excellent alternative for people who have a hard time affording full titles.
  12. DLC is the beginning of a very rocky road for gaming IMO. It won't be long until there will be some games where you buy the 'core' of the game (which basically lets you build your character and play the first level or something similar), and then you get to choose which levels/campaigns/NPC quest packages you wish to purchase. "But wait!" they'll cry. "It's a good thing! It makes your experience so much more customizable than ever before!" And it'll be like five bucks a package, and there will be dozens to choose from, so if you want the entire game experience you'd better be ready to fork over some serious cash. What do you mean 'sour grapes'?
  13. I have a short story for entry. Caregiver, Caretaker Normally I'd wait for the short story round, but I'm considering submitting this for publication in my university's magazine (they just issued a call for creative writing.) On that note, ANY critiques would be greatly appreciated. The deadline for the magazine submissions is Feb. 7. Thanks!
  14. Pretty much my thoughts word for word. How can you do everything so awesomely and NOT do the headcrab zombies? Although I'm not sure I'd want to see a black leaper zombie strolling through Ravenholm...ughhhh. But it was funny how the crowbar equals an automatic win against a katana. And the chick shooting the dude pissing on the wall at the end was priceless.
  15. And that the other half wouldn't get pissed on if they were on fire.
  16. The RBY success was a lofty height that needs to be reached again; Stadium kicked ass. Maybe instead of even fooling around with the Wii they'll make the next battle game a 3DS exclusive. That wouldn't be too bad. It would probably ensure they put more effort into it, at least.
  17. I'm starting to get psyched about this now, and I'm wondering what the chances are that they'll make a decent Wii game to complement the new gen. Battle Revolution was an incredible letdown, and that makes me worry that maybe they'll consider the console attempts a lost cause. Not that many of these new pokes will look that great with a graphical upgrade. Probably worse, actually.
  18. I call the otter. Does systematically planning the breeding and bartering of these females make me a poke-pimp?
  19. Your logic can't be denied, but I would be shocked to learn that any appreciable percentage of online dickheads do this to gain an advantage. I think it's a high for them to do things while having the knowledge that no one can do anything about it. Being faceless is a tonic to some. When I meet these unavoidable people it makes me more depressed than angry, and their behavior (if being used as a tool) is completely counter-productive in my case as it pretty much ensures I'll never play with them again, or sometimes never play that game online again. Is winning the match worth shrinking the community? Of course I don't know how many respond the same way I do...
  20. Hell yes Earth City. But, Halo doesn't get the best of treatment here, so don't anyone cross your fingers.
  21. Yeah, you won't find the Abduction theme on YouTube--the only way I could get it was to download the OST online. Actually, JFG needs an album more than anything. Popular games that have great music and very few remixes (or in this case, none) are good candidates for their own albums.
  22. Because this communtity has proven to be a fount of obscure knowledge and because I can't find JACK about this song, I have a question: Does anyone know the origin/name/anything about the song that Mr. Holland writes specifically for Rowena, the lead actress in his school play? I can find all kinds of things about her theme (which is the orchestral score playing when she leaves on the bus), but I want to know about the piano music he writes specifically for her. He also plays it for her when she asks him. We only get to hear forty or fifty seconds of it, but it's very good. Edit: Here's a link to the spot in the movie.
  23. The giant bat level alone had me hearing Donkey's death cry in my sleep.
