  1. The PS2 has a ton of games that he would likely find interesting, plus it can play PS1 games (and they're fairly cheap). The Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon series for PS1 are great, and for PS2 you could try the Ratchet and Clank series or the Jak and Daxter series.
  2. Thanks, but those 18 were done back when I weighed about 160. Could probably only manage about ten right now, but then that's the tradeoff for bulk. (When you are 6'3 and 140 as a junior in high school, you pray for bulk.) I do supersets fairly regularly, especially with biceps and triceps. I try to do it with shoulders and chest but that is my absolute worst area in terms of keeping form and sticking through the pain (especially on chest exercises). I enjoy it on bi's and tri's though. Another problem is my lack of equipment for leg exercises. Any ideas on what I can do with free weights? (besides squats and lunges.)
  3. I follow a modified P90-X that relies on most of the same exercises, though tuned for mass rather than tone. I always stick to the 8-10 rep range and I use free-weights rather than body weight whenever possible (i.e. instead of dips I do tricep extensions.) Admittedly, the workout is getting stale even though I mix it up at least every month. P90-X2 hits real soon, so hopefully it will bring some new methods. Any thoughts are more than welcome though. Congrats on your progress; my best ever on pull-ups was 18 , so you've got me beat. As for pushups...my wingspan definitely kills me on there.
  4. Remember reading this thread a while back...how did you end up doing with your goals, OA? I've been in a holding pattern for about six months after two years of dedicated training (I'm 6'3 and was 150 pounds, now I'm holding steady at about 190.) I have hit a hard plateau and can't seem to gain any more muscle. Ideally I'd like to be around 210 (big enough to look good but to where I can still scratch my own back.) I'd be really interested in any thoughts or advice from anyone who can help. Already getting about 150 grams of protein a day, eating about five meals, working out 3-4 days a week, etc.
  5. You can remove my Gears of War for 360, traded it in to Amazon.
  6. I honestly didn't expect a discussion, and I'm a bit surprised by the amount that has gone on. Laughter was the only intended consequence. If PETA (as nuts as they are) going after one of the biggest video game legends doesn't bring a momentary spark of humor to your day...
  7. This was by far my favorite part. "To help prove their point, PETA has even commissioned a crude parody video game called "Super Tanooki Skin 2D" in which players try to re-capture their skin from a flying Mario (Warning: Kind of disturbing, and totally not fun.)" Haven't played it yet, though. Any good Amphibious?
  8. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/peta-slams-mario-over-fur-suit-211025773.html So the plumber advocates the wearing of fur. Down with the Tanooki!
  9. This might be elligible to go in community instead of offtop; you'd definitely get some more advice there. Maybe you could PM a mod and ask.
  10. Yeah, it definitely didn't get the recognition it deserved, probably because of its spinoff identity. But I've never played another racing game with compelling characters, fun mechanics and combat, and a killer OST to boot. Thanks for the one remix at least!
  11. Sweet. Are you submitting right away or going back to the WIP board? I'd love to hear the revised version.

  12. Nice! Jak-X has a killer OST, it's great to see it get some attention at last. This was one of my favorites to have playing when tinkering with the cars also, I like the flavor you gave it. Now, if you'll remix the one that plays when you get a new car, I'll give you a massive cookie.
  13. Damn, let the rave begin. Sounds awesome except for the lack of lower register. Have you thought of adding a little bass? Some ka-thump would be nice. Otherwise, well done
  14. Dude, where'd you go? How's that FF7 remix coming? You can't just dangle a steak in front of us and then take off...;)

  15. It's a hate bred from disappointment. The prospect of a Mega Man book series is amazing, but that closely followed by the realization that the idea has a 99% chance of never coming to fruition is painful. I have no doubt these guys have a great idea or two on their hands, but to make such a premature announcement on a site composed of game zealots is dangerous at best.
  16. That possibility has been raised, and I hope that's how it plays out. But the lack of competition for DQX is worrisome on that front.
  17. So was I. Sounds like they're more interested in money than providing a solid RPG for the Wii. (Shock and awe.)
  18. http://www.siliconera.com/2011/09/05/everything-square-enix-revealed-about-dragon-quest-x-so-far/ Not sure how to feel about this. I'm REALLY disappointed that Level-5 won't have a hand in it, but so far everything else sounds okay, provided they don't take too many mechanics from IX. Some sites are calling it an MMO, but from what I've read you can choose to play the game just like IX, by recruiting a few PC controlled characters to aid you, or you can recruit people online. Square Enix has said there will be a (monthly?) fee for online play. So yeah, lots of ups and downs on this announcement. I am however greatly relieved to hear it won't be restricted to the Wii U; there will be versions for both consoles. Now if they'll just announce some kind of DS compatibility that allows you to transfer stuff from IX... Edit: Okay, scratch the notion that you don't HAVE to play online. http://wii.ign.com/articles/119/1192635p1.html I'll try to hold back judgment until we see an actual figure for this fee. Try.
  19. Well, that would just make my day:-D BTW, any chance you could post a non-YT version? I'd like to download your next iteration...
  20. Love the dark feel--very foreboding. Everything clicked well for me with the exception of the ending. I didn't look at how long the song was, and I was waiting for it to hit hard right as you had it fade out. I was hoping for some electric guitar to come pounding in or something. Otherwise, great work.
  21. Wow, excellent mixture of several different themes. I think this would be nearly ready to go as is if the melodies had a bit more interpretation. Though they mesh extremely well and have strong instrumentation, you haven't done much to change the original notes (at least not to my ear.) Re-imagine the notes a bit and maybe add a counter-melody or two (in places where you're not already using a second theme) and this would be brilliant.
  22. ..................... I was seriously about to post for this in the request forum. Just finished my first playthrough. Nothing I can say that hasn't been said already, but I would like to reiterate the need for a more dynamic acoustic side. The electric is perfect. You said you had scrapped the rhythm guitars because they weren't matching up, but due to how much they could strengthen the mix, perhaps you might consider uploading a version with them so listeners can help with suggestions and observations. Anyways, already on my playlist.
  23. Hello to my new favorite WIP. Dude, this is awesome. Killer even. The slowdown makes this absolutely haunting, and I understand what you mean by not trying for an acousting guitar sound. During the first few seconds I didn't, but it clicked after that and I think it sounds very good. The only two issues I have: 1) The choice of using a sax as lead. I by no means think it sounds bad; I was actually surprised by how much I liked it. With this type of mix and emotion however, a violin seems the better choice to me. Purely a style thing, and you may be using the sax just to avoid that style, but whatevs. I think a violin would rule so hard, especially considering the transition you later make to rock. The violin could back up the electric guitar and add some serious oomph. Which brings me to my other issue... 2) I LOVE the rock portion. But the segue to it bothers me; it's too sudden. If around that 2:25ish mark you could add another short section and allow the lead guitar to bubble up from underneath before it comes charging out, it would feel more like a transition of emotion rather than two good ideas that were sewn together for the sake of having a single song. Just my opinions, and I'll gladly admit I'll be burning this onto a CD for my vehicle regardless of if you make these changes. Great work!
  24. Jeanne d'Arc. Just got it myself a week ago and can't put it down. Great story, voice acting, and battle system. I'll back up a few other recommendations too: Bowser's Inside Story and Dragon Quest IX (which I have spent over 300 hours on).
  25. Anyone ever heard of Tom Sawyer for the NES? Probably not. Hardest game I have ever played by a factor of at least three. Anyone who says they have beaten it without save states is either a liar or a savant. I will never even attempt it again. (And that's WITH save states.)
