  1. Ya know, its funny that no one has done this song yet. Or at least i haven't noticed it anywhere else yet. Probably cause its already a rockin' tune. Its one of my fav all time video game tracks. I play this song on guitar ALL THE TIME. I'm actually surprised i haven't actually done this remix myself either. Anyways. Sometimes the drums do seem way to programmed and mechanical, but probably cause its a WIP. The leads, while they are out in front, are too out in front. I think messing around with the EQ should fix that. The rhythm guitars sound panned enough where they should be. It sounds like the compression isn't turned up high enough as well. I can hear a lot clicking when all the instruments jump in. As for the guitar playing. The rhythm guitars don't sound too bad. They seem spot on and chugging right along with the rhythm. Although they do seem very muddy right now. Your probably using a tone very similar to mine cause i had problems with the EQ on my rhythm guitars with my last remix until i figured out how to clear them up. The leads sound good in the beginning, but sometimes sound too bland. Some delay and reverb, the usual, would help clean it up i suppose. I'm not really sure what's up with the part right at the end there. I think your going for the part around 4:00 so where the breakdown and solo jump in. Its kinda hard to a rock remix of this cause its a rock mix in the first place, but keep it up the work and i'm anticipating the next update.
  2. Nice man. I'm enjoying the sort of lounge feeling you get with this mix. The piano sounds very nice and very smooth. The drums are nice as well. I'm sure what advice i can actually give you to further this, but the usuals i suppose would suffice. Maybe add a little breakdown in the with just a side stick snare hit in rhythm with a nice little piano solo as well. Then maybe just the bass and trumpet section playing a few notes before jumping in for the last chorus. Looking forward to a new update!
  3. Damn dude. This is epic, and i should know epic. Those violin/strings samples are kick ass man. I'll admit that i'm not too familiar with the source. Which GI Joe game is this actually from? I know i had GI Joe Atlantis Factor for the good ol' NES back in the day. Around :33 when the drums and guitars kick in caught me off guard, but its an awesome change up. The breakdown sorta part around :56 is nice change in direction. So is the part right around 1:22 or so before the repeat of the intro. I think that if you added a nice solo, be it synth or guitar, right after that part and THEN added the refrain from the intro would be a nice next step. Then maybe adding a refrain also of the part around :33 with some more nice strings and orchestra backings. A nice outro solo in that part would be cool. The production seems very tight, but then again your an OC Remix artist already, so you know what your doing in that area. BTW, your FF IV remix was absurdly epic and awesome! Is that a live guitar i hear also?
  4. Yeah, i usually spend a good 3 or so hours a day working on and writing music. Which is probably why i have so many damn songs rendered down that i lose count. Anyways, it shouldn't really all that complicated to lay down the rhythm guitars.
  5. Yeah, the soloing is probably gonna be harder than the rhythm sections for guitar. It'll take me a few days to really it down for the whole track.
  6. Hey guys. Sorry i haven't been posting the past few days, but my damn cable company turned off the wrong apartments cable! Anyways, i'm okay with it taking a little while to get this WIP done. I've been writing electronic music for a video game recently anyways.
  7. Since my last WIPs on here, i've been working diligently to try and improve both my writing and mixing skills. So here's my new song called Savior. Its basically and epic sounding power metal track. Its pretty damn catchy so i'm hoping you guys like it. This is actually for a video game project that i was contacted to the write the music for. or
  8. Well its about time you did a trance song! nah, its a pretty cool start. i think the big thing missing from the is big trance drum beat. through that in there and your golden!
  9. actually, i'm glad your soloing cause my riffing skills are little better than my soloing skill. XD lol. i can definitely solo, as witnessed in my works so far, but i'm perfectly fine with not soloing.
  10. Ya know, i started this and got it about half done and didn't have the time to finish it! :/ Oh well, there's always next month!
  11. Yeah, missing the chat wasn't on purpose. I just thought i'd be home by then :/ Anyways, let me know when get that updated.
  12. I like where this is going. I meant to be on the chat with you guys, but i haven't been home since friday night. This thread seems like a good idea though.
  13. even though its a whole 10 seconds or so, i'm already diggin the vibe. i can see a nice chugging kinda rhythm behind this.
  14. The meet up tomorrow sounds good, as long as i don't forget. and.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY dudemanscott
  15. Ridley's theme would be really awesome as a rock mix actually. i can't really remember if there's much of a difference in the sound of the theme over the years.
  16. Is it 5/4? I can't really tell, but i think that would turn out pretty damn nice. I've never wrote a song in anything other 4/4. I'm still game for this mix.
  17. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. I actually do recognize parts of the medley. I too have, sadly, sold my Wii. TOUGH TIMES!! Anyways, its always good to know how to play one instrument fricken well.
  18. Yeah, this is very good. I can definitely hear the source. I agree with Dj Mokram on most of what he said. While the production seems to be somewhat solid, it could use a few tweaks. The intro pad is definitely kinda boring. Maybe add some slight 3rds or 5ths to the notes there already here and there. As for the drums, they do get repetitive in some places. Maybe an extra bass kick or so here and there would change things up. Knocking the very high EQ down a notch or 2 for the whole track would help smooth things out as well as the flute track. Alright...i'm a-gonna do it!! I think the snare sounds pretty good already, but i guess it wouldn't hurt adjusting it like Dj Mokram said. There, i did it!
  19. To be honest, your probably a little more familiar with the music from the game than i am. its been a while since i busted out the ol' N64. Pick a song you'd think would sound good as a rock style remix and i'll take a look too.
  20. Sounds alright to me. My production skills are pretty decent now. They weren't a year ago, but now i do well. Whatever you've got in store, let me know.
  21. Depends on what kinda sound your going for. If its rock or metal then i'm in. I play guitar.
  22. Alright, i must be missing something. I guess someone else on here has a song called Fight For Freedom? Anyways. I kinda like The Epic Change of Perspective, although The Sudden Change of Perspective Just Made this Fight Epic! is a pretty awesome name too! lol niiiiiiiiice
  23. Why thank you. I think the one your talking about that's 4:32 long is a different mix altogether. He's creating a long zelda sort of epic track split into different parts. The 4:32 part is the second(?) part of the mix thing-a-mob-a-jigger. As for the mix he wants to sub, i think it might too long, but it might not be. I think that some of the parts do kinda get repetitive and it goes back to what i was saying earlier about taking short sources and making them longer. I think that adding the dungeon theme around 5:15 is a bit much, but only cause it extends the track very far. Not to say that that part is bad, but it kinda jumps in when you think the original track is done. If you really want to keep that dungeon part, you could try cutting out a bunch of time from the first 5 or so minutes and add this part in there to make the whole track about 5 minutes instead of pushing 7:30. Now, i would only make this mix shorter for the purposes of getting into OCR. Then you could always keep the longer version for your youtube channel. Just so ya know, the mixing sound miiiiiiiiiiles better than the original and adding that bell thingy to the dungeon part of the mix is kinda awesome. I thought about doing that, but got too damn lazy and it didn't really fit in mine.
  24. When i named the remix that, i didn't think anything about it. It was just the first thing that came to mind. lol Any suggestions?? I'll give it a boost in the low mids and see how it comes out and lower the kbps just ever so slightly.
