  1. I concur with your method of methodology regarding the method of your methods.
  2. Word. I'm-a gonna check it out! (Supposed to be in a Mario-esque voice, yeah i know, its terrible) Seriously though, i'm gonna check it out in a few. Your stuff is always awesome.
  3. Remember the Sonic Advance series? Yeah, neither do i, i only really played the first one. SUPPOSEDLY, the 3rd one was the better of the 3, but i dunno...
  4. I do still have an entry, and i could get in by saturday.
  5. hmmm....I thought Sonic 2 and 3 were pretty damn awesome. Wait? What year is this again?....
  6. I actually wrote these tracks for a fan made video game project, but these particular ones didn't really fit in with what they were looking for in terms of area themes. Every time i play them, it reminds of a Final Fantasy type game. That dark, melodic overtone. Corrupted, the first track, i think would be a good dark dungeon type theme. Town 2, for lack of a better title, would be also be good for a dark town or castle. The last one, Really Sad Theme, is probably good for, well, a really sad theme.
  7. That is an awesome piano sample man. I like the overall sound of this. Its kinda mellow and, dare i say it, loungey. Not that its a bad thing though. The parts at about :38 or so do sound kinda robotic like you said. Hopefully you'll add some dynamics and phrase shaping, like your were saying, to help fix that problem. Honestly though, I think maybe 3:42 of just a piano playing such a short source might be a bit too much. At least until there's more cohesion and such. Its up to you though my friend.
  8. I think some general EQing should help, right? Also, do you plan on making this longer? I know that its been about the same length since you started posting it and updates. I think maybe adding a nice little breakdown followed by a short synth of some kind would be pretty kick ass. Then, of course, a repeat of when the source jumps in for the outro!
  9. First of all, kudos for choosing such an obscure source to remix. Its very interesting. Kinda slow and melodic. Compared to the source, it sounds like the volume is kinda low overall for the track. Its also kinda hard to hear the other instruments. I think some simple EQing to help separate the instruments would be a big help. Also, i think the drum track needs more cohesion. Its very repetitive. Maybe try adding a snare in some parts with a quiet and closed hi-hat. This actually sounds like its a remade track from an unreleased SNES version instead. Its a good start, but needs a few updates/changes. Looking forward to your next update.
  10. Bout time there's an update! Nah, i can definitely hear the updates/changes you've added to mix. The intro sounds much more cohesive with the different synths jumping in to compliment each other. I still love that big build up before you the source clearly. Its very nice. I think your drum track only has a kick and cymbals, right? Its not a big deal, and its working well for you so far. I would suggest that maybe once the source kicks in after that big build, maybe add an alternating snare with the kick. Also, and i'm just nitpicking here, i think the kick could be a tad thicker. Just a tad more bass really help complete that techno/trance feel you're going for with this track. Either way, i think its just about for submission!
  11. Very nice my friend. I guess pendulum is style mixed from drum n bass with almost metal drums? Either way, its another well done take on the classic battle theme!
  12. Another awesome NES track. I need to get into using famitracker for a bit to write that old skool music.
  13. Beat It Remix by none other than bLiNd. Its fricken epic.
  14. Yeah, i just noticed this thread and have a track i want to enter, but the deadline was 2 days ago...
  15. Nicely put, lol. I've only just begun to use famitracker.
  16. Well, turns out the project wanted more of an electronic feel. So i'm writing techno/electronic sounding tracks for 2 different fand made Mega Man Battle games. Anyways. I added a ton of stuff to this track. As well as majorly adjust all the effects and levels. It should be near finished now. I'm not quite sure what i'll use this for yet though. Probably put it up with my other stuff on newgrounds.
  17. You did have to play with the original HL disc in the drive, but you could actually swap out the disc for another music cd and it would substitute the tracks. I thought there was a folder for extra music though? Maybe i'm thinking of GTA 3 and Vice City, or any GTA for the PC.
  18. I sense some sort of resemblance from your Sewer track to a particular NES track from back in the day...lol. That boss theme is pretty damn epic though. All in all man, i think they all came out very well. Especially considered you only gave yourself 3 days for this project. Is that a live guitar in there with you playing?
  19. I won't vote, since its 2 against 1. I do think that Joystick's remix is very nice take on the source as well. It does have that string quartet feel to it. Its actually pretty cool. I think it makes the source kinda mellower, even though that's not a word.
  20. Looking forward to hearing the rest! In the first Half Life, all the sound tracks were just mp3s. You could change the file for the ones you wanted. I'm not too sure about HL2 because i haven't played it in a while. I should get that out and give it a whirl.
  21. Yeah. I guess if there were 3 or more remixes, it would've been different, but that's ok. Also, the 3rd track does work if you save it first.
  22. I was trying submit a second remix i did of the source, but it wouldn't let me. I know the rules say its ok to enter more than 1 remix. So i created a 2nd ThaSauce account in order to submit my 2nd remix. Smobaderby is the same as NintenJoe 64, which is me.
  23. Yeah, one of these days i gotta sit down and spend more than 5 minutes on it.
