  1. I never even stated how I was learning. Assuming makes.... well you get it. Tweek: thanks for that bit I'll have to look into it.
  2. Lemons are technically limes, just with much more experience and flavor. Unintentional symbolic titles ftw?
  3. Not sure why I'm bothering to reply to this but... 1. I'm developing a way not to learn music theory? Lol... 2. I am learning to play the piano. 3. Don't preach, Zephyr already addressed my issue. I don't care about anyone's opinion on learning to play something.
  4. Well if you can find someone that will organize it and make it a success (including you) then go for it.
  5. If anything we should wait until it comes out so we can include any new tracks from the DS version. It would suck having it come out during the project, having to add more tracks later on.
  6. I have a feeling once a few more current projects are completed there will more interest in people working on another album. This one almost for sure will happen though, many other people have taken an interest in requesting / forming a project. I will definitely be a part of it once it happens, so just be patient and I'm sure we'll see a GS album in the future
  7. No, no, we should take this time to experiment. Neko should go cut this kid's hair and see if his personality changes.
  8. Oh, I most certainly have no concern over how he chooses to react, as far as harming himself, but I know some people can't live with certain kinds of guilt. Then again, with all the pyromaniacs, anal-rapists, sadists, and supposed military commandos in this thread, I'm guessing no one cares about guilt anyway. Besides who would feel guilty towards someone plagiarizes? Not I.
  9. Based on the way he looks, I have a feeling OCR's example-making of him will cause something nothing short of a suicide .
  10. Mmhmm. I liked this before while listening to it on the WIP board and it turned out very nice. It's nice to see some more Megaman X mixes around here, especially from the first one. The only beef I really had with the whole track though, was the ending; just a bit too abrupt for me, but it's only a mere nit-pick. Keep it up, I love your chill electronica style.
  11. I already stated that it was concrete.
  12. This makes sense. I've never actually seen/been informed of ways to record an entire band or orchestra so I wasn't really sure. Did you recommend Cubase because... that's what you recommend; or did you because you use it yourself? I've never really used it so I'm not too sure about how it is in the studio. I use FL Studio myself, and it's very easy to work with for what I do, but trying to record in it is usually painful so I wouldn't use it for recording. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
  13. Thanks a lot for all that info Corran, big help; a lot of what I was looking for in feedback. I realize there would be more ways to cut down some money on some equipment and there may even be some we won't need, however renovating and soundproofing a space also comes out of the budget. For that, I don't even have a rough estimate of how much it will cost, but we do a have a fairly large space with concrete floor and walls that can built on which is where we're planning to build it. Although at this point, lots of things are up for change. Oh and to answer questions: 1. I'm assuming it's any kind of musical recording including band/orchestra. 2. I've yet to find out, still have to discuss. For the sake of budget, it will probably be a PC. 3. Still need to figure this out as well, but probably at least 15 or so. For band or orchestra, it's possible to record one section at a time (i.e. brass, strings, reeds, etc.)
  14. Okay, so, this week I was informed by my school's orchestra director that our school's music program might receive a grant of 25,000$. What he wants to do is build a recording studio inside of the school to be usable by the students and members of the community. He plans to make it free for those who don't have any budget, so anyone or any band that wants a chance to get somewhere, can. I think it's a great idea and so does everyone else. The problem is, he doesn't know all the equipment we'll be needing, or which brands we should go with. If anyone can contribute what they know about the basic equipment (like mics, a mixer, etc) for setting up a recording studio it would help a lot; provide links if possible. I'm not sure how much will be possible with 25,000$, but any input will be greatly appreciated.
  15. I'll try to contribute a track if I'm not too busy, but I won't guarantee anything. You'll know if you get a WIP from me.
  16. Nope, I merely skimmed. I only watched the advertising video and read some of the information. So have you concluded what you will do yet? I'm probably going to invest in something like Komplete 6 first before anything like this.
  17. Well if playing without making mistakes came to me overnight I wouldn't have made this thread. I need another way to do it in the meantime. And why wouldn't you want to play notes in a key? If I were to do it on purpose, I would have planned it already because it would be a notable instance in the song. I don't like to just throw in some dissonance here and there.
  18. I guess that makes more sense with the file size issue and whatnot, but then they should at least have more promotional videos of people actually using the program and talking about it.
  19. Thing is for me, when I'm jamming and I hit a wrong a note I tend to lose my flow and I need to try and pick up from where I messed up; but then I mess that up too and it just goes downhill from there.
  20. Aren't there usually demo's to test the plugins? Maybe the more well-known suppliers think they are too good for them to think people want to try before they buy
  21. Well I, question whether this is a good idea on a keyboard for typing. If I had a MIDI keyboard, there's no way I would take a shortcut at all.
  22. I've been trying to think since the release whether I liked the vocals or not, but I think now I can say I would thoroughly enjoy the song better with them in there. One minute you're doing some headbanging to great synths, phat beatz, and kyckin' rhythm guitar... then all of a sudden the song swells into this epic quote and it's like "boom, revalation." I think it was made even more epic with Larry being the one to do the voice too, since he's... Larry. BGC and zircon need to do some more collabs so we can have another face melting song.
