  1. How the hell did I miss this thread? Anyway, Happy Birthday, José! Keep up the awesome work and the amazing beats!
  2. Happy Pretzel Day to the awesome creator of OCR!
  3. I think this remix is amazing solely on the fact that it does one of the two things I like best about ReMixes: expands the melody of Ice Cap through WillRock's own interpretations and solos. It has a terrific sound, and it gives more life to an already awesome song. The intro really fits the whole "Sonic Snowboarding at the beginning of the zone" scene in my opinion.
  4. It's really hard to go wrong with Ice Cap. McVaffe proves that with an impressive house beat ReMix that is a bit chill, but also has a nice supply of upbeat energy. The piano, drums, synth and harp really do it for me on this one.
  5. Well, damn, you sure nailed the Asian feeling in this ReMix. Out of the hundred and some Ice Cap ReMixes on the site, this is by far my favorite. The ethic sounding beginning was great and seemed like a perfect fit for the source tune, and then breaking out into a rocking electronic midsection with tons of sweet sounding beats (and a Power Rangers nod that I always seem to miss somehow) right before the fake-out ending. I really love how it hits that heavy majestic feeling in the real ending.
  6. I think the flutes were fantastic, myself. A bit of a bouncy fun ReMix that takes the special stage and runs it through a tropical latinlite melody car wash. Or ReMix wash, if you prefer. I do think it fades out a bit too quickly at the end, but this is a case of the pros outweighing the cons for me. Not bad, not overly amazing, but all in all it's solid and it sounds good.
  7. At least the ReMix kept up with the feel of the zone with the tempo changes. No, seriously, I think that is what is best about this ReMix. Starting off with a deep beat and then the tempo changing into a more frantic "ghosts appearing and the pyramid getting darker" feel before going right back into the "hit the light switch, all is cool now" feeling. As much as I hate Sandopolis Zone, this ReMix is something I can't even frown at, being so good.
  8. This is a really intriging track. I'm not crazy for jazz, but I can stand it when it is done right, and this is done right. Anyway, it's put together well and I can mellow out to it very easily. The only thing that gets me is that certain parts were a bit too far out there for me and I wasn't fond of it, but the rest of this ReMix makes for a good relaxing song. Ten Rupees and one great mix, sounds like a good deal.
  9. Very beautiful. For as old as this ReMix is, it still sounds great. Even so, I do agree that some of the bits and pieces sound either midi-ish or fake, but the way it was played out was nice, especially in the crescendo. Yeah, it has a bit of age to it, but this still shows how talented DJP is and it really shows how far both he and ReMixing in general has come. Nicely done.
  10. Happy Fireday Brushfire and Wildfire! Oh, and Happy Birthday Author as well!
  11. More mind-blowing than all the other surprises and such mentioned throughout this whole build-up? This I gotta see. Hype definitely got.
  12. I honestly did not realize that I was about to review this exactly one year after it was posted. It just so happened to be next on my list of songs I still wanted to catch-up on and review. Anyway, the intro was awesome and I think the guitar work for this was brilliant. The whole ReMix is rockingly catchy as hell and the outro was pretty cool. As a lot of people have already said, it does get a tad muddy in places, but all in all, the pros outway the cons by quite a lot, so it's all good. Seriously, sweet stuff going on in this song right here.
  13. "Now, it is time." Freakin' love that sample right there. I think it really fits the zone well and I fancy the way you paced this ReMix out, from the building beginning to the breakdown. The guitars worked so well in this one and it seems to give the mix a boost without being frantic. I can't hear anything that would make me dislike the mix, as even the breakdown keeps the beat going. Love it.
  14. Good, hard, danceable electronica! Ah, god, how I love this genre. I see what you did in the beginning and a few times during the ReMix, but it only adds to the track and I personally think it was a nice touch. The energy was terrific, the beat was fantastic (which is a given for a ReMixer named "Beatdrop") and I can say that this is my favorite Beatdrop remix as of now. Great work.
  15. I love how the source tune is recognizable right from the beginning. The low-fi funk really gets things started and the transition after the first minute was great. I really enjoyed those easter eggs you tossed in there, like Knuckle's theme and such, up past the first few minutes and through the middle. Good use of creativity and very good arrangement.
  16. Incredible piano playing in this ReMix. I enjoy hearing piano versions of quite a bit of game songs and it really is interesting that they can not only make the original sound good, but then be expanded and changed to a point where it sounds like a beautiful peace that was always meant for piano. Definitely added to the other piano ReMixes in my collection.
  17. Woot! I've been waiting for this one for a long time. Simply one of the best ReMixes I've heard this year. Seriously, LuIzA has the best punk/ska voice and those lyrics are brilliant! Oh, damn, the SFX covering up the curse words for this version was a great touch. Really, this is one of the catchiest damn songs I've ever heard on OCR. Great job all members of the Plaid Muffins! Can't wait for the uncensored version.
  18. Oh god, now every time I hear David go into a rage I'm going to be seeing that David Hoovard Rage Face in my mind! I would die laughing if someone managed to take an old episode or fanfic reading and animate part of it using the MLP OCAD pics idea.
  19. Really could have sworn that I reviewed this already, but oh well. I really enjoyed the darker, spooky intro and Asian sounding outro. Those really caught my attention and the beat sounded great all the way through. It's a cool atmospheric ReMix that keeps things interesting. Love it.
  20. One of the many reasons why I love Project Chaos. Pretty cool how it starts off with the game SFX before ripping right into the heavy-guitars and drums. The soloing and the fast paced shredding brings back memories of facing this guy at the end of S&K. The production and arrangement are top-notch and this ReMix has "epic" written all over it. Very tasty final boss ReMix.
  21. Cool, groovy little ReMix here. The arrangement it cool and keeps the original feeling intact. Still, it's hard to hear this without the constant "Go!" sounds from the source. I just can't unhear it. But that's the best part of this ReMix, because nothing sounds too repetitive and it stays interesting until the end.
  22. Nice solid build-up in the beginning. The bit between 1:14 and 1:40 was great for the anticipation and things got really good when it came back with the source being recognizable. Amazing job on this progressive track and the ReMix moved along really well. I do think the ending took a hair long to fade out, but that's just me nit-picking like crazy because there is really nothing wrong with this ReMix. Terrific work, Jewbei.
  23. It amuses me that the source tunes get almost as much love as Ice Cap. Rightfully so, because both SS and Forest Interlude lends themselves well to so many different takes. This ReMix is a great example. Nice jazzy arrangement. The police sirens and such were a nice touch and oh, do I love that sax. Half laid-back, half funky, all good. Nice work!
  24. Haha! Oh, man, that evil laugh at the beginning and end was perfect! Geez, I do love metal when it's used for hard-hitting boss ReMixes. Keeps the spirit of the battle alive. The rapid-drums, excellent guitar work and epic arrangement made this ReMix. This was always my favorite Eggman theme, so I'm glad to see it done justice. Fantastic work!
  25. First episode has me so psyched for the new season! I love this show. Good thing for this thread, though, cause I didn't even know the new season started today.
