  1. Thank you all for the comments, it really warms me up I will try to give this track real percussion if I have time. I have so much at school and I now I'm making the music for a project. When I have something new to share with you, be sure to check it out.
  2. Requiring a dongle isn't that big of a problem but it's still what's holding me back..
  3. I did listen to it while doing something else so that may have effected how I conceived it.
  4. Find another game project? (Continue this one as required in contract, but find another game to occupy my time so I don't rip my hair out) Or learn XML but you have to think, it might not be finished anyway. You have so many themes already, I think it's enough for your part.
  5. This is hot, it works without vocals. But it'd be interesting to hear with as well.
  6. Depends what kind of song it is, if it's a main theme I want them to be long. If it's a battle theme I don't mind them being 1-1:30 minutes. If it's a boss battle around 2-3 minutes is good. Longer songs can feel more repetitive than shorter ones. I don't think a song should be long just to be long. Loss of Me from FFIX is a good example. It's short and sweet. Soul Blade also has excellent but short songs. I do love long orchestrated main themes.
  7. The only vsti used in this song is Alchemy Player. It's a bit short but I'm looking for criticism. Feels like I'm getting better at chord progressions. So please tell me what you think about this this fast paced piece. Enjoy:
  8. SGM is a decent soundfont with the GM instruments, it doesn't sound like a midi either. But maybe that's what you want? This thread sounds like a cassette.
  9. Cool, thanks for answering. It really is amazing how much they improved.
  10. How was the music in FFIX made? It has very high instrument quality compared to FFVII. Actually that might be too off topic for this thread.
  11. Yes that's what I mean. I was always under the impression that the lyrics sung for OWA was the only exception in FFVII.
  12. I didn't mean "midi to trigger" >.< but whatever, isn't the choir in OWA red book audio? I have to say, being corrected seems to be faster than asking. Edit: I meant "programmed to trigger", not "use midi to trigger".
  13. My perception of what people mean when they write "midirip" "sounds like midi" is that the sounds are similar to those of playstation, n64 and other systems that uses midi to trigger sound, instead of let's say the audio in One Winged Angel or Liberi Fatali. Just my take on it.
  14. In case none has stated it earlier ITT, it stands for "Nintendo Got Pwned".
  15. Sounds like you are overthinking it. How long have you been at it?
  16. Thanks Bleck Oh you meant the game..
  17. Sounds better now. I still love the part that starts at 1:24, it's so saxy.
  18. Yeah I'm just saying the general length tends to be 1:30-1:40 ~ Dead link 404 cannot find. Use Tindeck, it's the best song upload site imo.
  19. I have a Yamaha psr-e313, it has a very warm and rich sound. The song does have an anime op song layout but it's a little too long for an op. If you cut out the part at 42-50 and end it with bar 57. Something like this http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GN581DYS (I was bored, sorry).
  20. Yes Jade Cocoon music is amazing, there's something magic about it.
