  1. You've already had some very good reviews and advice, listen to these people and i promise you will be able to improve any work you do.
  2. Oh so this is you is it? i heard this on tindeck a few days ago and thoroghly enjoyed it then, parts of it remind me of Autechre, are you using this plug-in by any chance?
  3. Mate you need to calm down a bit, coming on here, being arrogant and wanting to argue with everyone is not cool. From what i gather you wanted to reproduce the tracks as close to the originals as possible, and seeing as your tracks are getting confused with midi rips you must have done a good job so i'm saying a very genuine well done. But people here do only try and help you, when they say 'your samples don't sound good enough' or 'your tracks don't sound human enough' they're not insulting you, they're telling you how you can improve on the work you've already done. Having the attitude of 'you're wrong and i'm more experienced than you' is not going to get you taken seriously here, or anywhere else for that matter.
  4. I beg you're pardon sir, but i use cubase on my laptop (which is only 2gb of Ram) and can easily go way over 6 tracks... Anyway! Just listened to your track, the only advice i can add is expanding on Gario's advice about your synth that doesnt mesh in too well. I would add some delay to it to give it more space in the mix, play around with some delay settings and you'll instantly see some change for the better, just don't go overboard with it! To me the rest of the track is nice and relaxed and washed, but that synth is just too punchy and sits on top of everything too much. Apart from that i like it, it's a very unique take on the source, just mostly needs polishing up now, mostly...
  5. I thought the battle system was incredibly boring, you just set up how you wanted the characters to fight and watched as the game played itself, but yeah, I reckon the story was terrible too, I kept forgetting what the characters relation to each other was. I never even bothered getting to the ending, so i can't say how bad it was...
  6. What's happened to this track? I can't find a thing about it in the 'Judges Decisions', or am I just being blind?
  7. Version 3 done now Changes made: Simple single oscilators synths replaced (apart from the one section where i've kept them to add contrast) Different hi hat patterns with more velocity changes Please keep your opinions and advice coming, i'm determined to get this track up to scratch and I reckon i'm getting there thanks to you guys
  8. Did anyone ever play or even heard of Project Eden? An early PS2 co-op shooter game. You went all the way to the ruined depths of society just for the mysterious mad scientist you've been tracking to put his dead daughters mind into a robot and wave goodbye...
  9. Finally got version 2 done Biggest changes are: Improved drum patterns Fuller soundscape Less harsh sounds Again please let me know what you think of it and how it can be improved Thanks!
  10. Right, so obviously there's loads of great artists on here, but all of them had to start somewhere. I'm quite nostalgic and like to keep every piece of work i've done, no matter how bad it is. So I want to see how many people still have the first thing they ever did and if they're brave enough to post it in this thread. Here's mine, i did it 5 years ago when i was first learning how to use cubase, it's basically a 'remix' of my friends mucking about, you have been warned (seriously, i'd reccommend having your volume low low low)
  11. It's ridiculously short, it's immature sounding but my oh my does it make me happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a3I0RbDksI Any other fans of it out there willing to try and do something with it? Personally i think the sillier the remix the better
  12. Cheers guys, im definately going to keep at this now that i've got the main arrangement down, not sure how i missed that mistake 0:54...
  13. It's another laguna remix! but bare with me, it's got a twist to it. Thought i'd try something abit fun, never really tried to mix two songs together as much as this. What does everyone think? how can it be improved? Sorry the ending is a bit brief, it still needs working on. Edit: Newest Version Source 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2vpqd9gKXk Source 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SaDOoEspNI
  14. Just saw this today shows how much thought nolan and zimmer actually put into the film
  15. Basically, the other day i googled 'anti-syne' as you do, and the 4th result was this http://www.last.fm/music/Anti-Syne apparantly my last.fm profile. Thing is i never use last.fm and have never uploaded tracks to it, yet it says i've got two tracks on there (two of my old remixes, one of which was uploaded to soundcloud and the other to tindeck). Sorry to post a thread all about me, but can anyone who knows a bit more about last.fm explain why i have a profile and two tracks on there? I just don't get it
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiacQDJCdLk Just because it's nice and retro sounding, it sounds like a ringtone to begin with
  17. First Megaman track of any sort i've attemped. I'm going for a relaxed lo-fi style with some subtle glitching. Looking for any feedback, even if you don't know the source, i'd be interested to see what people think of it so far. Here's the source: Here's some sauce:
  18. I'm constantly playing football manager 2009, i think my game time is 24 days now. Other than that i just reinstalled mechwarrior 3 today for some giant robot fun
  19. sorry to butt it here but, i'd strongly reccommend using audacity to convert music files, it's free and a very good and simple piece of software
  20. Still needs a lot of cleaning up done on it, but the general idea is down. I've not got too much experience in remixing using the original vocal track so i'd like some opinions on what you think of it and how it can be improved, so any feedback would be very much appreciated! thanks
  21. well ocr rules state 'The music must have been composed specifically for the game. Movie themes such as Star Wars or licensed songs from games like Gran Turismo do not qualify.' Having said that, i'm not sure if this track is actually from the film soundtrack, i don't remember it at any rate, so it may be ok to do. I've never even thought about remixing aladdin music and i used to adore this game! I'm sure it's not too hard for someone to remix, it's probably not been done yet because, like me, people forget about the music from it (maybe?) Oh and thanks to you i've just spent the last 20 minutes on youtube listening to all sorts of disney remixes...
  22. I've noticed there's no parappa the rapper remixes on here, i know it's probably a difficult thing to do, but surely there's some fan's of the game/rap fans or anyone that would be willing to do one for a giggle An example of parappa's mega coolness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eZcV1UuUzI PUNCH!
  23. But that's not how the rule works, you're only offside when you become active, and you only become active by receiving the ball or blocking another player, for the first pass he did netiher so he was never offside
  24. ah bollocks, completely forgot it would only be available in the UK, i'll have to try and find it somewhere else here is that somewhere else: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HJoRKAbuBA (8:02 in)
  25. Right firstly i don't know how many people on here watch/have heard of top gear (if you haven't it's basically a very popular British entertainment program about cars). There's a fairly brief moment toward the end of tonight's episode where i could swear they're using part of metal gear solid 3's main theme. The song used is here from 3:22 to 3:32and it's used right here http://beta.bbc.co.uk/i/t3t7s/?t=58m51s (that link should take you to the exact moment of the show), or here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HJoRKAbuBA (8:02 in) Anyone else agree? seems very odd for a mainstream BBC show to put in part of a video game soundtrack...
