6pm ET when it's 6pm in like Florida or something, I'm guessing (I suck with knowing time zones), that's when it starts. where I am, it'll be starting at 5pm.

I'm actually really amazed by this, along with the reviews for A Link Between Worlds. but Ben Briggs said something last night that definitely happens often now. lots of critics give 10/10's out like candy now. nevertheless, it looks like all these Nintendo games are being praised a whole bunch, while the PS4's launch games aren't getting as much love. obviously the PS4 is selling better, but it looks like at the current moment, Wii U has got the better games, even if it does have a smaller library.

I guess I just wanted it to feel a bit more like I'm "officially" leaking stuff rather than really letting the whole thing out to the world. I don't know, really. that was the main concept. -

I love how we always add faces to be like "OMG I'M TOTALLY INSULTING THE LIVING SHIZ OUT OF YOU BUT I'M GONNA TRY AND LOOK NICE AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE I'M JOKING SO THAT I DON'T GET IN A BUTTLOAD OF TROUBLE"

Do You See Drum Loops as Cheating?
Garrett Williamson replied to SonicSynthesis's topic in Music Composition & Production
nope, I don't and yes, I do the reason I don't think its cheating is when you're using it for hip-hop (and mind you, "real" hip-hop, none of that new crap that they call hip-hop), or some other more electronic sound that gives it a cool sound. I'll even try and make it obvious by doing numerous things to it and editing it in a specific fashion so that it sounds like it's obviously being looped to add flavor. drum loops are crap, though, when you're doing a more rock-type track or something that requires something more natural. drum looping is sorta cheating there and I like to either play or program them myself. finding loop libraries and throwing them in there is something I'm not really for. -
he's been doing this practically since the Wii U released last year lol
-
lol I still see myself getting a Wii U, but the PS4 is the console of this generation that's just sorta how it's going down

honestly, I think it was Sonic Adventure 2. I had some interest in vgm when I played Super Mario Bros. because that theme song is like the most catchy and world renowned theme song ever, but I think the music to Sonic Adventure 2 was just sooo cool to me that I think that's what got me into listening to vgm. my parents (especially my professional studio musician father) never liked it; they thought it was bad influence on me. but honestly I think most modern music at that time sounded way crappier than vgm, mainly because there was actually songwriting happening and interesting melodies. of course, they weren't trying to persuade me to listen to the new music. I was raised on Michael Jackson and The Beatles. but I'm glad I listened to vgm. it's definitely had an influence on my music and lots of it has truly been an inspiration to me. even the majority of my stuff which has nothing to do with video games has a hint of video game-sounding stuff in it. it's just become natural. I don't mean like chip tune sounds in my songs (though I do use that sound quite a bit). I'm simply talking about just the way the song is written. there's just a tiny bit of influence that always sneaks in even when I don't mean it to. and I'm fine with it. it's just sorta part of the way I do music. and I honestly don't regret anything.
