  1. Title 01 - Melody is good, instruments dont do it justice. too quiet and muddy. Also, drum beat starts to get sour after 1 minute. Also, in my opinion, song needs to transform about a minute in, or else it will become boring. sky's the limit - good melody, but bass doesn't have enough energy for me. again instruments are of low quality. (worse than nes) i like to get funky with my bass (if you haven't noticed, i tend to do this _"_"_"_" with my bass (think disco), octave up then octave down. creates a really funky energy. troubles wash away - good but too darn quiet. drums are so low quality that they interfere with the song quality cave level - bass is too quiet, really important because the bass carries the listener. also chorus melody is too quiet listeners may ignore it altogether pirate ship - creepy as hell except for the white noise, and the dissonant notes in the background could help, but don't because they are of low quality and not right timber (should be more like celestas) boss fight had no boss fight energy whatsoever, until 1 minute in. would sound good as menu music however. credits are my favorite *possibly because they have no drums? basically try using midi or soundfonts would be better quality
  2. Thanks for the detailed review, I am probably too lazy to do it right now but it sounds like your suggestions are very good. The intro was actually that dissonant piano part in the middle of the song, at first. Then I got tired of it and decided to scrap the entire song...was going to make a new beat sort of like Sonic in the Sewer, but I thought it didn't have enough "umph" to stand on it's own, so I decided it should be the intro, that way people would have a break from the rest of the song once it repeats, since the intro would not match with the rest of the song's atmosphere. Personally I like the bluesy piano part in the middle, but I guess we all have different taste:razz: PS: You can tell I'm not working with the highest grade stuff, used a midi-like soundfont for the entire song. There is one advantage though, it is not as muddy this way and composition is much cleaner. one reason retro music sounds more musical than modern stuff. SoundBoard - yeah i normally don't compose stuff like that, its not like i can't, its just music like that isn't really my style, you hear it in movies and stuff everyday, and I say leave that stuff to Hollywood lol. Not trying to knock it though if u like it. i was just basically going for an animeish song. PS: Also, the battle is more of a long, drawn out, psychological battle for the fate of the universe, the battle to end all battles.
  3. i was kind of expecting a futuristic anime style track, but this is good though.
  4. The vuvuzela (pronunciation: /vuːvuːˈzɛlə/), also known as lepatata Mambu (its Tswana name), colloquially known in South Africa as "Moerstripper" , is a plastic horn, about 65 centimetres (2 ft) long, which produces a loud monotone note, typically around B♭3[1] (the B♭ below middle C).[2] Many types of vuvuzela, made by several manufacturers, may produce various intensity and frequency outputs.[3] The intensity of these outputs depends on the blowing technique and pressure exerted.[3] Traditionally made and inspired from a kudu horn, the vuvuzela was used to summon distant villagers to attend community gatherings.[4][dubious – discuss] The vuvuzela is most used at soccer matches in South Africa,[5] and it has become a symbol of South African soccer as the stadiums are filled with its loud and raucous sound that reflects the exhilaration of supporters.[4] The intensity of the sound caught the attention of the global soccer community during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in anticipation of South Africa hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[4] The vuvuzela has been the subject of controversy when used by spectators at soccer matches. Its high sound pressure levels at close range can lead to permanent hearing loss for unprotected ears after exposure,[6] with a sound pressure of 120 dB(A) (the threshold of pain) at 1 metre (3.3 ft) from the device opening.[4]

  6. To celebrate the Rapture on May 21st (or lack thereof), I made a song in the style of Sega Genesis and older Nintendo games, Dusthammer City. What this has to do with the rapture I haven't a clue. http://soundcloud.com/erineclipse/dusthammer-city
  7. http://66.90.118.45/soundtracks/sonic-the-hedgehog-2-hedgehog-heaven/scvjrpgeba/05-jaysonlitrio-hilltopheaven.mp3 I found this remix on the web. I really like it, cool and downtempo. Is Jaysonliltrio a member of OCR?
  8. 2 more notes? Actually I think the ending should have 2 more minutes.
  9. Very beautiful, wish the ending of the song was extended though.
  10. Okay I changed the pic, messed with individual volume settings, automated the Fruity Maximus settings and changed the pitch. It's a new whistle and I by turning my speakers to 100% I changed the settings so my ears weren't bleeding as much. Unfortunately the whistle doesn't sound like the Crunk Whistle anymore (the Torvus Bog whistle.) Every youtube tutorial tells you to either use the 3x Osc, SimSynth whistle, or Sytrus Loon, all of which do not sound very good in my opinion. http://soundcloud.com/erineclipse/green-hill-zone-remix-1
  11. At the beginning the kick needs to be muted and filtered because it's too loud when the bass is muted and filtered.
  12. (Updated with new link) http://soundcloud.com/erineclipse/gr...l-zone-remix-1 Description: A light uplifting techno and bass remix of Green Hill Zone. Music celebrates the fashion of classic midi renditions of early 90's trance and pop masterpieces. After careful thought, some parts of the song were omitted.
  13. Hi I would love to chat about it with you, I don't know if this is a public or private message though (if it is public I must seem very newbie-ish lol)

  14. For me its more like turning my loud brick war weapons into beautiful waveforms:-D
  15. No I clicked the AfterTouch link and it said Page Could Not Be Displayed, works now though. Also, there's a girl saying "After Touch Beats" every couple of seconds. Also what's the name of the girl singing "Love is All Around" and where can I download her samples?
  16. http://soundcloud.com/erineclipse/onestep My first attempt at a new genre, Heartbop (aka, progressive hip hop.) Please let me know what you think, and what parts you think are crappy.
  17. Whenever I wake up in the morning and listen to my music, it sounds like crap. But at night it doesn't.
  18. You know how music sounds when you are listening in the kitchen? Someone should make a plugin that emulates that, and creates a new song based on it. Sometimes when you hear music you made from another room it sounds like a completely different song, most of the time it sounds better *but not always.

  20. amazing sound quality! What are your mastering secrets? I liked Ride the Boogie the best, then 02, the rest were okay but not really my style. Can you tell me exactly the name of all the presets and mixing effects you used on track 1?
