jnWake replied to The Damned's topic in General Discussion
If you do it'd be awesome. It's impossible to get them here in Chile. -

Lol once again I'm here to ask for a code... If anyone has an Arceus code I'd really appreciate it. -
Flat Notes: A Paper Mario ReMix Album - 7 TRACKS AVAILABLE!
jnWake replied to RECKENEFIN's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
One of my tracks has been ready since 2013 haha. The other two I left in hiatus when the project started dwindling. -
PS1 20th anniversary album [CANCELLED :(]
jnWake replied to Ivan Hakštok's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
I wonder what's the progress on this. I want to do some small revisions to my track but I have no clue about the deadlines haha. -
Looks cool. I have many NES games on VC though so I'm not sure I'll bite.

OCR03195 - Final Fantasy VII "Make Who React Her"

Awesome remix! I kinda wish the guitars had more palm mutes and stuff though. -
Composition vs Production? Which matters more?
jnWake replied to YoungProdigy's topic in Music Composition & Production
I agree with Neblix's first opinion here. Composition is the most important part, considering that composition isn't just the "melodies and chords" part of the music creating process. Also, I personally love writing music but don't enjoy the mixing/mastering part that much sadly. I wish I loved it haha. -
What exactly does the Custom Knight do? The Shovel Knight amiibo is damn cool but they charge way too much for it here in Chile (like US$40 haha).

Nice! Any plans for a finish date? There's a track I haven't even begun yet (woops). -

Way too quiet sadly. RECKENEFIN has contacted us by e-mail a few times but has been silent for a while. -
Awesome! I should work harder on my tracks then... Why aren't days longer ;_;

Actually, Ganondorf is mentioned in ALttP. According to the Zelda wikia, a maiden mentions him as a thief who turned into Ganon.

IIRC the Wind Waker says the hero didn't even show up so this wouldn't be possible. There wasn't a hero who failed, there was simply no hero. People on the internet noted that the Rock Salt item Mirby mentioned was found in a mountain which is a weird place for it to be... unless it used to be part of the ocean.
-
It has to be before/after Wind Waker since Koroks appear. People also noted that the Old Man resembled the King of Hyrule from WW but that's probably coincidental.

I love how free it looks. You can climb mountains, put things on fire, ride animals, steal weapons from enemies... Seems like there's so much to do. Graphics are beautiful too, it'll look insane on NX.

The mongoose is horrifying haha. Woodpecker thing is cute. -
I believe someone from OCR once did a site that had SNES sound files loaded and ready to listen with separate channels and all. Lost the link though...

Oh man this game has such a good OST. One of my goals is to remix most of it someday... If you go to my soundcloud you can find a remix of Armed Satellite (last level of the game I believe?). I'd link it here but Soundcloud's site is blocked at work. EDIT: Now I can: https://soundcloud.com/jnwake/use-the-plasma-gun-2013

OCR02653 - Deus Ex "The God Machine"
jnWake replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I love this remix. It's very progressive with many electronical elements, which is an approach we don't see that often here in OCR. The change at 3:07 is amazing. Awesome job! -
OCR03337 - Metroid Prime "Prime Directive"
jnWake replied to Liontamer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This remix is kinda strange. Guitar playing is cool but the drums feel like they're on an entirely different planet. They don't mesh at all. There's also some probably off-key notes at ~1:07. There are many cool arrangement ideas here but I feel it needed some more time in the mixing stage. -
OCR02753 - Kirby's Adventure "Double Rainbow"
jnWake replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I love this remix so much, I can't believe I never posted anything. The synths are so peaceful they create a wonderful dreamy atmosphere. The section beggining at 1:55 is one of my favourite sections of any remix. Awesome mix! -
OCR03338 - Chrono Trigger "Punk Hairdo Kid"
jnWake replied to Liontamer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Damn this is insanely cool. 80's vibe nailed perfectly. I didn't dig the chord at 1:03 sadly but the lead that comes after makes up for it. The synth/sax (both?) is so good. If you allow some nitpicking, I didn't like the synth solo at the fade-out. Way too much arpeggios and no melody. Unfitting for such a stylish song! 80's should be added to the tags. There are few remixes in that style (I remember the JENOVA one) but they're damn good. -
OCR03351 - Chrono Trigger "The Dark Defender"
jnWake replied to Liontamer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Being honest, I'm not often a big fan of piano solo remixes (weird since I play piano). I often feel they lack dynamics or a clear hook. For this one, dynamics are clearly a high point with many volume and rhytm variations. There's a bit of a hook too with Magus' theme. What impressed me the most, though, was how you subtly changed Magus' melody to fit the chords. Very often I see people try to adapt the mood of a melody without actually changing the melody and it falls flat. Luckily, it works great here. My main complaint here is the piano sample. It sounds a bit too much like an E. Piano.
