  1. mm fantastic arrangement. I love woodwind and string instruments, and this is absolutely amazing to listen to. There's a great sense of calmness yet also busy activity. The piece moves to and fro as if flitting from one horizon or group of people to another.
  2. Like WesternZypher, I find this very uplifting. Last Unicron has given this track a noble sound like as for travelling near the end of a quest. I think this would fit well in a later stage of a Wizardry game. Halls of Wonder, even. Wonderful mix! :3
  3. Oh Master Higgins. When I was a kid I wanted you to pick me as your Honey Girl, so that maybe you'd let me ride on your dinosaurs. (Then my mum got in the way of us by constantly borrowing the game to play the bloody slot machines... ) This track? Appropriate for the hard stomping lightning or fire dinos. Just lovely really Funkin the dark yeah!
  4. At once it seems to never build up to anything yet it does in the same? In tracks similar to this, I would complain about the build up... but there's something else here that doesn't make me feel like it's a problem in Matador. It works great, however it's working. My only complaints are the transitions at 1:39 and 2:07, as they seem slightly abrupt. Then again, if this is a medly mix (I'm not familiar with the source), the transitions aren't too disruptive in that context. Love the style and how it brings me back - now to where it brings me I don't know. XD Very cool. Very old school.
  5. Pixelated ninjas meditating and sparring in the woods! It gives off a very good vibe and is strangely relaxing to listen to.
  6. Hi Zanquino :3 Nice to meet you! I agree: it's nice to finally sign up and give positive feedback to the site and all the remixers who thanklessly make awesome and free music. Super Mario RPG? Yay!
  7. Just let us know when you can. I don't really mind which donate button I click! n.n
  8. Like a cross between the original track and FF VI's Magitek Factory, this just adds a layer of malevolence to an already dark and alien place. (So far from the open ocean, Ecco! ) Trace has also added more musical variation. Even for its time and system, the Genesis version seems like it repeats too frequently... uh, although, when I think of it, players are unlikely to live long enough in this stage to hear a track of Trace's length! Yeeah, maybe for the original, the repetition is okay.
  9. Although I'm tremendously biased towards the SNES version (even with those high, almost painful, notes it hits+scratches out), this is a superb orchestrated take. And I know the discussion below on Cox's versus Sugiyama's versions is long over - but... they are different. Sugiyama's follows the original much more closely and moves much more quickly, whereas Cox takes more liberties, varying the piece more. (While they both start and end at the same general spots, Cox's version is also a minute longer!) There's more going on in this remix. I especially like the choice of woodwind instruments, as it gives the piece a more airy quality (flying!) and, to me at least, sounds more like the original in that respect. Lovely
  10. Ah The Ken Song. Such glowing sweetness... like neon and honey! :3 It's been a long and winding road. Gotta love it, breaking people's bones. Perfection in a vocal game mix? A favoured tribute for Ken, that's for sure! n_n
  11. A little more strength and this could be like the Ys "The Boy's Got Wings". Even so, it still has power. Uplifting... determination. *grins* And I love the old school feeling. This could fit well as credits for an older game - or an older game montage. X3 Love it! ^w^
  12. This is beautiful. Such pain that comes along with this... I love listening to it... I just can't handle this too often. Zero's pain is open bare for all to see. I know this remix is for Zero and not X, but I can almost feel X's sorrow as well. ... erm, maybe I'm getting a bit too emotional feely here Darkesword did a tremendous job with this mix. I only hope listening to it time after time with tweak didn't make him sad, as it would me.
  13. Quite simply a lovely song. There's a lot of serenity here... but also hints of conflict? Worth listening to even if you're normally a fan of tracks involving more instruments. I'd be kicking myself if I didn't give this a chance, despite gravitating towards tracks with more - (and faster) - instruments.
  14. Like the poster before me (who has a distracting forum name ), I've been listening to Eternal Abyss for weeks. It gives me such an amazing feeling of awe and inspiration. And... and I can't put it any better than that. Wonderful atmosphere, awesome choice too: the original track is quite short and has the same sense of awe and inspiration, but not perhaps the depth heard in GrayLightning's take. Also, I never expected to hear this from GrayLightning, as I thought he did a Rockman mix in a very different style - buut as it turns out I confused Disco Dan's BlueLightning remix with GrayLightning the remixer. o_o (Note to self: don't confuse GrayLightning's awesomeness with Disco Dan's! They are different awesomenesses X3)
  15. An optional dungeon in the Forever Forest: that's where this remix should be. It's powerful, follows the source, while adding a lot of creepy atmosphere... could go well with a Mario mod for Doom or Quake too.
