  1. Ingenius concept, flawless execution. Good to hear from you again, Danny B.
  2. Another thing I forgot to mention was that I was impressed by the dialog and relatively mature plots and endings. The remixed music was a fun side-benefit as well.
  3. Anyone who's bashing Starfox Command can stuff it. No, it's not like Starfox or Starfox 64, nor is it trying to be. It's just a good game on its own, with intuitive and responsive controls (the turning is just as fast as SF64's, and I just drew circles for barrel rolls and never had any problems), and has a creative hybrid of shooter and turn-based strategy elements. The missions are addicting, and the campaigns are short enough on average to finish each in one sitting. I had to send the game back because it was a rental, but I seriously considered buying it for the WiFi. If you're not hardcore intent on getting a traditional Starfox experience, I highly recommend the game.
  4. So am I just bad at LostMagic, or does it really suck as much as I think it does?
  5. Case in point. BTW, where did you find that tracklisting, Bahamut? I somehow doubt Nightwish and Stratovarius were in Ouendan...
  6. It seems like a lot of people get it just for the L'arc song and I don't understand why. It's not even one of their good ones. Anyway, people see Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte and automatically assume the rest is tweenie trash, but they don't notice it also has great bands like Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, Queen, Davie Bowie, Jackson Five, Earth Wind and Fire, friggin' JAMIROQUAI, etc. This is gonna be awesome. But hey if you wanna deprive yourself so you can be a snob, that's all well and good with me.
  7. I like how everyone I know who imported Ouendan automatically became an elitist snob.
  8. Shoot, I was going to do something this weekend, but my homework caught up with me really fast. Although, I actually haven't heard anything about any parts people want me to perform or anything. I guess I wouldn't mind too much if I'm dropped though...looks like you guys have this thing covered pretty well.
  9. I don't care what anyone says, Star Fox Command is darn addicting. P.S. Yes, Gamefly and Gamerang are awesome for DS games.
  10. And it's going to many more before the project is finished...you probably shouldn't put your hopes on a 2006 release. And I'm not saying this as someone with inside info, because there really is none as far as release is concerned. But it's just that there's at least two more projects pending release before the end of the year, and we've got less than three months left before 2007. Don't worry though, it'll be worth the wait. And you can feast on Sonic and Tales mixes in the meantime.
  11. I got a rental copy of ZX from Gamerang, and I also had a weird problem with the DS not reading the cart a couple times. Haven't had any random shutdowns though...yet.
  12. Better, but I would definitely cut out the echoes, except at key parts you want to emphasize (like the rhymes in the last verse, and the ending). It gets old if it's used all the time.

    Math

Yeah, you should consider dropping the class if you feel like you can't keep up. Your other option is to hit the books hard and try to get up to speed. Your school math lab and/or tutor would help a lot in that case.
  14. Alpha list by game = キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!!!!!
  15. Hm...I hate to say it, but to be honest, I don't think any of them do this piece justice. Prophet's version (2) is the closest though, in my opinion...it does a good job of bringing the vocals out, but the reverb and echo is just plain overboard. I think if he cuts down on those, it could work out. Version 3 is decent, but the vocals are too low and don't have enough presence. So increasing the volume and reverb would probably fix that. Actually, come to think of it, the end result would probably be the same as reducing the reverb and echo on Prophet's version. So yeah, either way would work, I think. Also, if possible, try to find someone who has an autotune program or plug-in. Don't be embarrassed about it either...many, many professional singers use it for their studio recordings. Good luck!
  16. orz Personally I felt it was somewhat of an honor for djp to use one of my mixes as a blog post. Made me feel like I was a part of history in the making or something.
  17. Haha, you realize that you lose all credibility the moment you call someone a tool.
  18. ROFFLES. You're sooo wrong. I can't even count the times I've died in Sonic 1-3 due to retarded booby traps and not knowing where I'm supposed to land. But of course, since little kids have nothing better to do, they memorize ALL of that to the point they can just run through the level. You can do that in Sonic Rush too if you take the time to figure out the levels (which, admittedly, is hard because they're so dense and convoluted and have so many paths). Besides, you can only do this with a select few stages (which usually include the starting "Green Hill Clones"). Try using your "hold right, press A" gameplay on levels like Chemical Plant Zone and Marble Zone, then tell me how far you get. Also, if you think Sonic Rush's level design is bad, you obviously haven't played the Sonic Advance games. I've been stuck on Sky Canyon in SA2 for weeks now.
  19. The song definitely sounds better with the instrumental interlude at 4:08. I do think the entrance at 4:29 is a little harsh...maybe soften up the attack on the "I", or reduce the volume of that section. Or perhaps replace it with one of the sections you cut out (I don't exactly remember which, since you deleted the old versions ). As for the ending, I think it's decent enough, but it does leave the song unresolved (not necessarily a bad thing though). Anyway, I dunno if Georgasmaster is still around to help you, but if you want to make the ending more "satisfying," then he could just add an ending chord/cadence, or maybe a short outro with fade. And while he's at it, maybe he could extend the 4:08 interlude a few more measures so you can put the stuff you cut out back in. Speaking of the ending though, I think there are slight timing issues starting at 4:48...seems like you come in a microsecond later than the bass notes. Anyway, I think at this point, these are all just small nitpicks. There's still the issue of the low notes, but that's probably just a matter of vocal range, and I don't really have any suggestions for that apart from formal training and practice. Or maybe just soften up the attack on "gentle" and "crystal". But yeah, I guess it'll be up to the judges to decide whether it's a big enough problem to reject it (a lot of people tend to be sticklers over vocals). Still, we're finally gettin' there! Hope you find someone to help with reverb soon. I'm sure it'd make it sound tons better, and maybe even cover up some of the problems with the vocals. It'd be really nice to see this on OCR.
  20. It's funny 'cause it's true.
  21. This is why you don't trust Phthisis. But seriously, if you're a fan of Super Metroid, Castlevania is bound to appeal to you. Also, I think everyone who says Sonic Rush was boring is touched in the head. Hands down easily the best Sonic game since S3&K, with a phenomenal soundtrack to match (you really need to use headphones or hook it up to your PC speakers to get the full effect). The levels are very dense and well-designed (at least IMO), and the trick system makes sure there's never any downtime. Oh yeah, and also best special stage ever.
