  1. The best way to learn would be to actually try it for yourself. You can download the DirectMusic Producer that Tricklozen mentioned from here. Going through the tutorial would explain a lot of things.
  2. Nice. I didn't vote personally because it was way too close for me to call. I wanted to give special props to Prophet though...your arrangement gave me a special feeling I haven't had for a while. Also, the Racing Chocobos mixes turned out surprisingly good...props to everyone who tackled that track.
  3. I dunno, VG character tattoos always seemed like a bad idea to me, since they really won't have any relevance 20 or 30 years down the road. Then you'll be an old saggy lady with some character from one of those old-fashioned "vidja games" that nobody knows on your back (that's where I assume you're putting this). If you like that picture so much, I'd suggest having it printed on a shirt instead. Then you can actually show it to people without having to take off your clothes, and without the risk of regretting a permanent decision. Not to mention, wow that looks like an awful lot of ink. That said, I think the logo on the right would actually make a cool tattoo...still video-game related, but it's nice enough of a design to stand on its own. Also, it can almost double as devil wings, which in my opinion is pretty awesome.
  4. Not to mention the FF7 remix contest. I queued all of those up in my MP3 player before I left for the 4-hour trip to Oklahoma, and by the time I was through with them I was almost there.
  5. Actually, GamingForce has been closed for years, but its community is just as big as (if not bigger than) ever. It's just a matter of reaching that critical mass where word of mouth and Google searches are enough to sustain the community.
  6. And yet...that's pretty much exactly what happened. Hitchhiker's Guide style. P.S. This is why we should allow so-called "slow chatroom" threads. So people can catch up on conversations that are several hours old.
  7. Say it ain't so, Darke. ;_; Man, this is becoming a really sucky week for OCR... You'll keep submitting at least, right?
  8. I didn't make it...a lot of UnModders have it, but I guess they either left or were banned. Thanks though.
  9. I'm not even referring to the picture...I'm talking about the nonchalant deletion of UnMod and just the staff's unapologetic attitude about the situation in general.
  10. It'd help not to give them what is essentially a huge middle finger.
  11. Seems like "General Discussion" is even more of a misnomer than "UnModerated." And I wanted to QFT/E The Coop's post, but it's pretty big so I'm gonna just say QFT/E. I've seen the staff talk about the elimination of "undesirables" who come to OCR "just for UnMod" as a rationale for its deletion. They like to pretend that this has no effect on the "upstanding" portion of the community. But what they forget is that there are listeners and ReMixers such as The Coop and I who contribute to the community and also visited UnMod and regularly contributed to and benefited from the forum. True, they won't stop coming to the site in all likelihood, but that doesn't mean the forum had no use or purpose. djp wouldn't evaluate the usefulness of the quicksearch function or RSS feeds by removing them and seeing how many hits he loses. That's just not the way it's done. But wait, you say we can do all our regular UnMod activities elsewhere? This argument is specious at best. Guess what, guys: every single topic in Gen Disc can also be found in every other Gen Disc forum ever, too. There are, in fact, entire sites dedicated to each of the topics that are considered on topic. But that's completely beside the point. Where else can you discuss these things with OCR members? And in the end, there's still no excuse for the incompetent way in which this situation was handled. I'm sorry if that sounds extreme, but what djp and the mods did was extreme as well, and I believe they should be held accountable for it.
  12. Hm...a hentai remix on OCR? How deliciously scandalous!
  13. Good stuff. You should definitely consider entering Dwelling of Duels at some point (assuming you haven't already...it's been a while since I've been there).
  14. Yeah, I don't see why you'd need a fancier background. It's friggin' Space Invaders. It's supposed to be plain. Also, /r/ Mooninite avatars.
  15. I dunno, I think that kinda makes it lose some of its simple "retro" feel. Black or transparent background is best, in my opinion.
  16. We really need spoiler tags.
  17. Wow, nice job everyone. Didn't get around to voting in time, but now I kinda wish I had. Clorophil totally took me by surprise...ultra-tite stuff yo. Definitely woulda had my vote.
  18. I really don't get your acceptance algorithm, Larry, but whatever. I don't suppose enough people are familiar with MB to use those avatars anyway. LT: No rough-looking sprites is one rule.
  19. Isn't there a "Ribbon" accessory in every Final Fantasy that nullifies all status ailments?
  20. Lame...... EDIT Also, for all that is good and holy, please put the user info back on the left of the posts. It's pretty gaynormous to have all that extra space between each post.
  21. Like half of these aren't in the new avatar gallery. Where's the beef?? BOO-URNS! LT: Focusing on functionality/troubleshooting first. Once that's squared away, the design may be tweaked and secondary stuff (like avatars) will be handled. Can't comment on the Melty Blood posts, due to the image count, but those sprites are unfortunately pretty weak. Gotta pass on those.
