  1. Despite being blatantly modeled after HAL? They even played Zarathustra just to make sure you got the 2001 reference. Sigh, I tell ya, kids these days and their dadgum newfangled vidja games... Edit: I'm not sure if this... ...qualifies as a twist, because it's hard not to see it coming.
  2. This thread again? Also why do you sign your posts, people know who you are.
  3. So I watched the gameplay demo and they need to stop recycling their shoddy War3 engine.
  4. Congrats. Mind telling us the name for future reference?
  5. Just so that there's no confusion, I used The GIMP. MS Paint is for the prols.
  6. It's a hack-n-slash type thing, except with cooler equipment, items, and spells. Pretty much defined the genre really. Also has randomly generated maps to keep things interesting.
  7. Yeah I'm almost done with Lord of Destruction and it's a good game but I'm not seeing the big brouhaha.
  8. That's not really a matter of portability then, that's just a matter of adding quicksave functionality (which honestly should've been in the original games in the first place). I'd think a few places are likely to fire you for playing your PSP on the job whether you're compiling or not. I do actually see the appeal of portability, especially now that I know about the quicksave thing. What I don't get is the "tiny screen" obsession a lot of people have that sephfire alluded to. I've never made any significant progress in FFT or Disgaea, so yeah I'd want to play the PSP versions since they have a couple extras, but you better believe I'm going to hook them up to my TV. And yet I've seen people stick Chrono Cross into their PS3 and play it on their PSP while there's a 42" HDTV sitting 5 feet away from them. It's amazing really.

    FF7 Medley

Because most people don't ask for Final Fantasy megamedleys, and most artists fulfill requests with the intent to submit to OCR later on. They are, but if you included every single track in your request, it would be much too long and big to be accepted. This is why Bladiator can't submit "Golden Ivories of Gaia," an incredible FF7 medley from VotL, and Jeremy Robson had to split his "Philharmonic Suite" into several pieces. Um, you're the one who said your request was for a video project you were working on. This is a lot more reasonable. See my above recommendations by Bladiator and Jeremy Robson. Not really. Magma appeared to be asking for a 13-track medley, which would a huge undertaking much beyond the scope of most simple requests on this forum. Furthermore, it would inevitably be too large to submit to OCR, making it a custom work. I don't feel it's unreasonable or inappropriate to ask for compensation for what is essentially a commission in this situation. It would certainly improve his chances over asking people to spend countless hours out of the goodness of their hearts. If you happen to find someone who wants to do exactly that though, well then more power to you.
  10. God of War 0 perhaps? Er, I'm not seeing how "hours on end" goes with "couple minutes at a time." If you wanna play a console game in 15-minute chunks, then play it in 15-minute chunks. Personally though, I've had FFT and Advance Wars and Disgaea battles go for 45 minutes or more, not exactly an "on the go" time interval. If you have a lot of idle outside time though, that's cool. It's just personally the only time I find myself wanting to occupy myself is when I get to the movies early, but even then I usually have friends to talk and socialize with.
  11. Isn't time-heavy the opposite of what you want when you're out and about? Or do you have an hour-long commute or something?
  12. His whole DA gallery is just rips and edits.
  13. Why not just play the original FFT and Disgaea?
  14. There will be hell to pay if they don't.
  15. When did Tidus get superspeed? Bah, whatever, not like I'll be able to play this game any time soon.
  16. Good news perhaps, but I don't think that helps his situation.
  17. Yeah Google brought up dBPowerAmp and Multi-Frontend.

    FF7 Medley

There are still 13 tracks in your "needed" list, which is already bigger than any medley that's ever been posted on OCR (for obvious length and size reasons). In fact, it's bigger than some remix projects I've seen... It's going to take a lot for most people here to go back to FF7 after the VotL flood just for some random guy's video project, especially for something they will never be able to submit, and especially if you have no samples of your work. Sorry if I sound harsh, but you need to realize what you're asking for here, i.e. basically a personal service. Remixing is very time-consuming process, and if you're really serious about this, you might even have to end up offering money to receive this service..
  19. Wow, I just checked the prices on Tales of Destiny II (aka Tales of Eternia) and saw that it's going for $70-80 on eBay. My sister bought it as a present for me at CostCo for $20.
  20. Relentless for $2.50 Indiana Jones for $1 Dragon Warrior VII for $5
  21. Sure, but people wouldn't give half a care about the stories if they didn't involve lightsabers, X-Wings, Wookiees, The Force, etc.
