Do you like Valkyrie Profile? Do you like Death Metal? If so, then this is THE album for you.
Here is a commercial explaining what this is:
Here is one of the two currently released songs. A new song comes out every two weeks until all 9 tracks are out.
Enjoy the music. Thank you for your time.

Thanks so much Black_Doom and other people! I'm very surprised and glad to see that somebody is interested in the 10 years old megaman stuff and embarrassed that there is no permanent hosting for the files.
I duplicated the archive from Black_Doom in drop box just in case: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w3475ojzou8xt8v/Mega Man Remix Album by ilp0.rar?dl=1

Found it!  Had to do some tagging, since a couple of tracks lacked them completely for some reason, so there may be some mistakes, but I don't think it matters that much, honestly.

Yes! This track is certainly one of my personal highlights of the album  It's not really a very new remix, but every listen is still quite nice, and from time to time I even has chills running down my spine  I absolutely love the somewhat mysterious yet fresh and adventurous vibe this track has. The powerful drums and groovy bass definitely give this one a huge sense of motion and progression. Then there's also a number of other details that are no less cool - the choir in the intro really helps to set the mood; digging that small folk-ish touch at 1:40 and sweet cello soloing at 3:00! And last but not the least, have to mention the guitar - that's some really enjoyable playing right here. Brave to everyone involved - you nailed it guys!

We scoured the land for the most evil people we could find to join us, and we're proud to add @prophetik music and @Rexy to the judges panel.
I'm personally aiming to finally have that submissions queue go to 0 by the end of this year, and we're excited to have their help.
Revel in their fresh perspectives and presence now before they become entrenched in the system and simply become part of the evil mass of musical oppression that the rest of us have morphed into.  (a.k.a. WELCOME!)

Black_Doom reacted to Paul in What genre of music fits each style of Sonic best?
Late to the party, but it's weird to hear the Sonic Adventure soundtrack called pop punk - I always thought of it more as hard rock/funk. There's a pretty strong funk influence in the character select and Hot Shelter themes, for example.
Y'all, this soundtrack is HOT. Jun Senoue's tone, rhythm playing, and the active basslines are my favorite things about this soundtrack. His rhythm tone isn't too thick or too thin and has a heat to it, and his lead tones are incredibly smooth. He also adds a lot of rhythmic accents using pinch harmonics and not-quite-pinch-harmonics, and pushes against the tempo a bit to add interest. For an example, listen to the rhythm line in the character select jingle during the solos. If the rhythm guitar and drum parts were people, they'd both be dancing and the guitar would be grinding on the drums. That degree of rhythmic variation really isn't common in metal or hard rock - bands typically stick to varying between muted and unmuted notes, and every now and then throw in a full pinch harmonic with some vibrato for attitude - they can't take too much attention away from the vocals.
I also really like the active basslines. You can actually hear what the bass is doing, and it doesn't just shadow the rhythm guitar - it's a unique part that still complements what's happening in the rest of the song, but without taking too much attention away from it. Best example of this would be the Sky Deck theme. Note the hints of influence from surf rock and boogie.
This soundtrack feels like summertime. None of the other soundtracks have captured that same feeling - even SA2 doesn't have the same heat and attitude.

Ohhh, so dope! I've been playing a LOT of JSR/JGR lately, and this is just what I needed. "Sneakman" is one of my personal favorites form the soundtrack because of how energetic and juicy it is, and Caleb did it a wonderful job arranging this song. He managed to maintain the crazy vibes of the original, while bringing a new dose of freshness and funk to the table. The instrumentation is also very reminiscent of the original - same insane chunks of slap bass, wah-wah, breakneck percussion, and yet there were some new details like the brilliant synth and organ solos! The abused vocal sampling may throw some people off, but I really like it - that is actually one of the features of the original composition that made it so attractive for me! The incorporation of bits of "Fly Like a Butterfly" was also very cool here - they shuffled the things a bit, while keeping everything quite cohesive, which is obviously always nice! Very good job, thanks for making this. Gonna put this one on repeat for sure

Black_Doom reacted to Lemonectric in New album: Expedition to PL21-13
A couple years ago, I released Zest Quest, an original album about fruit planets. Since then, I’ve decided to make more music set in the same universe, and I just released number 2!

    Expedition to PL21-13

It contains a mishmash of retro sounds with an emphasis on things that sounded purple to me, paired with a story about unpaid interns searching a swampy alien planet for a robot sent by their ancestors hundreds of years ago. If you’re into flavor text, there's a full description on Bandcamp, and the album download comes with a 5-page PDF of log entries.

The original concept for the album had no narrative context...but it turned out that giving it a story and connecting it to Zest Quest unleashed a rush of motivation. Now I’m looking forward to all the possibilities for fleshing out this universe. Hope you enjoy!

Oh boy, yes! This is a true masterpiece. I've been listening to this track a lot since the album came out  This is certainly one of my personal highlights of RotPL and just one of the best jams of Mr. Pretzel! I love playing this track when I'm in a good mood, and vice versa - pretty much every time I'm frown I put this track on repeat until I feel better, because this track is just... Pure happiness in musical form, I guess. I also love how this track is structured - you've got a nice tropical sonic journey sandwiched between mellower piano-led intro and outro, and that journey itself is quite an experience on it own - there're some straight-up joyful bouncy bits mixed with somewhat calmer parts, which are no less fantastic! The divesre instrumentation is also what makes me appreciate this piece so much - especially dig that sunny flute and groovy bass, haha. Huge kudos for this work, David <3

Not sure, why I've never commented here before, been a huge fan of this track since its release on OCR. What a funky and energetic song! Honestly, it reminds me of Sir J's debut track, "Smooth As Honey". In a good way, of course  (Is there a bad way, actually? lol) Anyway, this track proves once again how good Jorrith is as a musician - this is something I've never heard from him before in terms of the genre, yet it is absolutely polished track with some solid beats, funky guitarz, hot bass (that soloing at 2:57, omg), catchy vocals (Jesse, you rock!), and whatnot. I can't stop singing the chorus when/after listening to this tune ;P Thanks for an amazing work, guys
    P.S. Nice OutRun cameo, btw.

Not familiar with the original as well, but yeah, this is some damn nice job! The groovy, crunchy drums is certainly my favorite thing about this track. I mean, the rest of instrumentation is very cool too (those chippy bits are super stellar), but the percussion just makes me tap my toes and bop my head quite a few times, haha. The drum writing at around 2-minute mark is especially tasty! And, man, that aggressive synth assault at 2:40! Extremely sweet earcandy from Eino, just as expected

Aaron Webber @RubyEclipse on Twitter, Social Media and PR guy for SEGA of America was delivered by us, over 70 copies of the physical Arcadia Legends album! They also sent over copies with personalized letters from us to SEGA of Japan where a copy got into the hands of REIKO KODAMA, the producer of Skies of Arcadia! She was VERY pleased! We did it guys! They appreciated all the hard work and effort we did to make this a reality!   It may not make a huge difference in getting a Skies of Arcadia 2, but I'm willing to take whatever we can get! Thanks again to everyone who contributed and supported us!
