  1. Yeah that list of entrants is quite poorly compiled. Quite poorly compiled indeed.
  2. I think this put me over the edge, gotta get this need my hammerdin
  3. Under the cloak of night, Brando slinks unnoticed, in a ninja-like manner, to share an opine upon the thread: I feel like this would betray both the workshop and OCR's long-standing rule of not adding a rating system for posted remixes. Granted, these would not be "posted remixes" as far as being on the front page of the site, but rating would be just as damaging to them as it would to a front page mix. How about instead of ratings, make it a thumbs up or thumbs down system that only a workshop moderator can add to a workshop mix? This would denote whether they think the mix is ready for prime time or not. Changing the system in the way described would make workshop moderators obsolete when it is their opinions that matter in the workshop. Excuse my french but I don't give a darn what XxssjGoku69xX thinks of my mix, whether he rates it a 2 or a 10. If I'm posting a mix in the workshop, I'm posting it there to get help, and feedback from someone who is at least on par with myself musically such as a workshop mod. I've personally seen horrible advice going out over the workshop and it's really discouraging, and I feel that is a more important thing to address than adding ratings which would more or less be akin to making the situation worse. I don't think OCR has to have VGMIX functionality, OCR was always better than VGMIX, and it was better for a reason. Besides, I think OCR should support vgmix right now, not go into competition with it. Beyond how much that would hurt OCR's systems, it wouldn't be particularly kind to vgmix. If this is something you really need to add then I will support that, and might even use it, depending on how it works out. But like I said, if all I get are reviews and ratings from XxssjGoku69xX then I'd be less likely to ever use the workshop. IMO the more important functionality change would be to emphasize workshop moderators and their input on that forum. Have their responses highlighted or something. Maybe change responses from people who aren't posted remixers to be greyed out and only visible if you click it. In the interest of receiving quality information rather than quantity information. Lastly I would not want works in progress on my artist profile. I do not currently have a lot of threads in the workshop because I am against releasing incomplete material. This new system sounds like it'd be a way to highlight unfinished works and I'm not cool with that as an artist. @Cash I think it'd be a good move to make it so only mixes labeled as "finished" could be rated, not WIPs or anything else. That was a good point.
  4. I think there should be a round where all the vocals have to be screeching / falsetto like this
  5. The limited preorder editions tend to last a little while after the game comes out, at least on Amazon... but it'd be impossible to say for how long. You can potentially still get the neat artbook limited edition.. or did you mean the collector's edition? That was an online exclusive from the squeen store. The level of effort isn't there for the collector's edition to justify the extra cash.
  6. Winner takes all It's the thrill of one more kill The last one to fall Will never sacrifice their Will
  7. Yup, comes out today! Unfortunately for me, I moved my pre order to Newegg so I could save a few bucks. But I will still be getting Metal Gear Solid Ground zeroes today.
  8. You know I am in for this! I am surprised nobody told me about it and I just found it luckily.
  9. Yeah the sound quality of the soundtrack remake is kind of shit for a lot of the tracks, especially the battle theme which should have been a lot better considering you listen to it -the most- out of any song.
  10. There are 2 vibe samples that are must haves, they are: Mellotron vibes (like Mike Pinder) The Orchestral percussion vibes sample in EWQL: SO The only way up from there is live vibes (and the mellotron ones are irreplaceable IMO)
  11. The youtube preview compression really brings out the flaws in this one, would recommend getting the mp3 instead The low end really needed more definition, it's a bit of a mess between the kick, toms, and rhythms. I can barely make out the bass guitar notes at all (which is sad because Norg is known for rockin' the bass hard). Not sure why the kick has such a roomy sound as well which just seems to add to the low end mud. It's a great song though, but much shorter than I was expecting -- what was with the mention of the bitrate/length in the write-up if it was just a 3:32 length? "didn't submit it to OCR at the time due to the size and bitrate requirements" this seems to fit into those requirements from before the change... maybe I'm missing something.
  12. I'd looove to have an open invitation for talkback. But I don't think tonight is possible.. trying to settle into a new routine before work and not sure how to manage the time (I technically should have been in the shower by now)
  13. I'm sorry man I have been dropping the ball hard... if you could think of the short prayer that'd be awesome, until then please sit tight and I'll send you the song as soon as I can!

  14. Rise of Mana has been announced as a sequel to be released on mobile devices similar to how the Breath of Fire series had sequels come out on mobile. Many of us probably hoped for a proper "Mana" sequel for a long time, maybe even something on a home console instead of a mobile device/hand held. It has been released that Square Enix even considered making a main numbered Final Fantasy for mobile devices. This thread will be home to discussion about the upcoming game "Rise of Mana" as well as discussion about Square Enix's mobile development plans. Is this the future of Square Enix? I've played a little Deadman's Cross lately and it's not particularly good. Source: http://toucharcade.com/2014/03/11/rise-of-mana-preview/
  15. All the mummy wrapping kinda makes them look like pilots for some reason. I dunno why that makes me think of pilots. The show/game probably won't be too good but I'll check them out cause why not. With Lost World being bad and the one before it being good, maybe the next one WILL be good.
  16. I put 15 hours into it, I thought it was worth the $45. I need to play through again and get the other half of the achievements. :'(
  17. I want to get a level 60 barbarian from scratch so I'll have a tank that I could help people play with... or maybe a crusader if it works the same way... yeah... I might get the expansion *sigh*
  18. That's what kinda bums me out about D3. We're both level 60 but our power is so far apart we couldn't play together. If I joined your game it would be like you were power leveling me even though we're the same level, and I'd probably get killed in 1 hit. It's ridiculous. I ain't got no way to get that kind of loot.
  19. It probably shifts on its own, honestly. I wouldn't put too much faith in Google Maps
  20. Hmm well the prayer itself is one thing, don't guess you'd need too much, just make it so it's not too long because if it went over the length of the transition where it would be, there'd be problems eh :-o

I FORGOT that you were gonna do choir vocals too. They'd have to be super good! Those will have to wait until after the song is recorded more. Waiting on a sax solo from Tuesday too.

  21. there's no melody it's a dramatic reading/ spoken word
