  1. Yeah, I keep getting the nagging feeling that Nintendo can't make up its mind about whether or not they want to offer all these multimedia capabilities or not. I love Nintendo, but they're so weird about things. I'd rather they not go into anything half-assed. If a music or video channel were to be created, I'd only like to see those things come to fruition if they're decent enough to not make us cringe.
  2. Picked up Wii Play today. Thankfully, the game comes in a regular Wii case and the Wiimote comes with its own set of batteries and the newer wrist strap. Oh, and it also came packaged with the safety information sheet guiding everyone on how not to be a dumbass with the wiimote.
  3. I'm wondering if the reason nobody can find wiimotes anywhere is because Wii Play comes out this week.
  4. You are correct, sir. All of my lyrics up to this point and time are based on personal experiences and essentially have nothing to do with the games the original music came from. In fact, of the two remixes/arrangements of mine that are OCR related, I haven't even played either game, let alone seen either of them in action, so I really know nothing about them at all. I just happen to be a massive Motoi Sakuraba fanboy ever since I first played through Golden Sun.
  5. I have very little experience with orchestra packages, but this sounds top notch. Color me impressed. I am wondering if maybe the snare rolls near the end (4:03)could be a little less machine gun-ish and vary a bit more in velocity for a more ultra realistic feel. Also, I don't know if the jump in volume at 4:25 is natural or not, but I thought it was slightly jarring. That's about it. Excellent arrangement!
  6. Same. This is just a really nice mix all around. This one went straight to my ipod for my drive home from work the other day, because I knew it would work well for that. I'm all about songs that provide energy and motivation. What else is there to say except that it rocks my world. This game deserved a sweet remix and here it is. Mixing, mastering and production are all tight. It's plain to see why this made it on OCR. Good job!
  7. Wow, I love your voice! Your tone is perfect and smooth like glass. Can't believe I never commented on this track before. I could easily listen to many more songs like this, especially if Dale is singing on any of them. Short, but sweeeeeeet.
  8. This is a fairly solid remix. The arrangement is nice and I certainly haven't heard anything quite like this before. Overall, it's sounding too MIDI-ish for my own tastes. Are you able to procure better sound samples? I realize that's not possible for everybody, but just asking. At the very least, the drums and piano could use better samples. Good job so far!
  9. "The quickkey you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire."
  10. I'm with ya there. SSX 3 is fantastic. It's still my favorite in the series.
  11. ARGHGHGSGH! Of all the SSX Blur videos I've seen, this game looks almost entirely like a rehash of SSX 3. Why couldn't there be all new courses? What's happening to my favorite franchise? If I'm gonna spend another $50+ on an SSX game, I want a NEW game, not an old game with a couple of new tracks added on and different controls. Dammit, EA!
  12. Ever since I first found out about what the wiimote could do, I've been secretly wishing for a Wii Ghostbusters game. I want to control my own proton pack!
  13. Good job on a successful, first-time OCR vocal contest, you guys! Malcos, I really dug what you did with the chorus. Good job controlling your voice and writing complimentary harmonies. Your vocals sound clean and well produced. pixie, your vocals are divine. Simply awesome. You also happen to have wonderful production skills to boot. Scarily enough, as I was working on ideas in my own head for this comp, your initial "ooooh"'s sounded exactly like mine, haha. bladiator, good job as well with your chorus. It's catchy and original, which is always a plus in my book. It's quite memorable in that respect as well, because of your choice of lyrics. After my 2nd listen, I was already singing and humming it, even during times when I wasn't actually listening to the song. It just goes to show that the way lyrics mold themselves to the melody is every bit as important as coming up with an original melody to begin with. Lyrics have the potential to make or break a song and it seems you all have an understanding of that. Good job again, guys!
  14. This track is fun! Just like the original too! Man, so many colorful things going on here. It's a good thing I have a sweet tooth, because there's a lot of ear candy to be had. Even beyond that, I'm really enjoying the soloing and how the remixer knows what makes a beat tasty and enjoyable to listen to for minutes on end. Speaking of the end, it came before I expected it. I wanted more of what I was hearing for the last minute. Perhaps that'd be overkill to some, but I really do have a thing going on for the original track, especially ever since hearing Koji perform it live at the video games music concert in Chicago. Watching Koji bob and weave his head throughout the song as he jammed out is a memory unlike any other and which I'll never let go. This track brought that vibe and memory back just a little bit stronger. Happy times.
  15. Shnab, mixes like yours continue to be among some of the very rare things in life that make me both laugh and cry at the same time until I finally break apart and collapse from exhaustion. It's pretty overwhelming to have my ass kicked this much. Thank you.
  16. #3 is simply awesome. I'm still listening to more entries though, but had to chime in anyways and mention that. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't really participate on this comp due to recent, faulty hardware preventing me from monitoring my mixes. Once I get that taken care of, then hopefully I can join in on the fun one of these rounds. It's funny, how when listening to some of these entries, I hear certain vocal parts that sound like something I might have done as well with this track. It feels like I caught the same vibe as other vocalists. Pretty cool.
  17. I got... - Elebits! - spice rack - Axe gift pack - some cash
  18. I wouldn't say annoyingly hard, myself, but definitely hard in some places! I love it though. That's actually one of the positive points that sticks out for me in this game. Most other DS games I own I thought were fairly easy and I knew that I'd beat them in no time. PoR is different. I feel like I have my work cut out for me and that the challenge is there and I welcome it.I do however find all of the bosses to be ridiculously easy. Maybe I was just leveled up more than what was expected of me, I dunno. I breezed through all of them up until dracula.
  19. 5 hours on Black Friday. My fiancee and I got to the mall around midnight and relaxed in the car until about 4am, playing DS games and eating snacks. We got into the mall past security and waited in front of Gamestop until it opened at 5 am to score #1 of 4 Wiis.
  20. That particular mp3 is not a final mix, btw. We had to do a quick rush job on it in order to get our song handed in on time for DoD. We'll be tweaking it over the next month or so and release it when we're done.
  21. What's the tempo of the song? It would be helpful to know for the sake of being able to apply various production techniques when laying down vocal tracks. Also, I may partake.
  22. Yes! More AkumajoBelmont! *grabs that first* I'll be grabbing the rest of the tracks shortly enough.
  23. So I go to Best Buy today to take advantage of their Touch Generations deal and I made out better than I thought I would. I grabbed Elite Beat Agents, Big Brain Academy and Nintendogs. The lady working the counter that I went to rings up Nintendogs as the freebie, even though it was worth more than BBA. Not sure if she was supposed to do that or not. Anyways, my plan is to return Nintendogs in a few days, unopened of course, and it'll be like I got EBA and BBA for $20. Not bad.
  24. http://tweakbench.com/ has some free VST synths (see the left side bar) that emulate NES sounds available for download. Check out peach, toad and triforce in particular and see what you think.
