  1. I remember when I was a young lad and I wrote a remix for this project. Since then, I've grown up quite a bit, got a job and now live on my own with my brand new wife. A lot has changed and it's fun to look back on those times. It was good fun. Now I wonder what everyone else is up to. Will there be a Tales Series: Summoning of Spirits OCRemix Project Reunion anytime soon? I miss you guys!! xoxoxoxo Love, HB
  2. Wait, so how is this day different from any other?
  3. Ah, I see. Good stuff. I may have to look into that after all.
  4. holy crap, po! Where'd you get that desk?? That's exactly what I've been looking for. EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, I use dual monitors, so I'm not sure if that'd work out for me or not. grrr.
  5. VOCR roughly stands for OCRemix Vocal Competition. The backing tracks from previous rounds were most definitely remixed tracks of their respective vgmusic counterparts, so the next round should be no different. Escariot, it looks like you'll have to edit your first post explaining what VOCR is to those unfamiliar. If I ever come up with an idea for a backing track, I will most definitely submit one. Malcos asked me about this some time ago, actually but I didn't have anything in mind at the time.. In any case, I look forward to the next round!
  6. On normal mode, I got 96% items at 23:01. I loved wandering aimlessly at times and just soaking in the environment. I don't feel like I want to rush to finish a game when I'm playing through it for the first time ever. Wow, I didn't realize that my asking about what makes Hunters an FPS vs. other Prime games was gonna start such a long and pointles debate over something so ultimately trivial. Awesome!
  7. Yeah, I'm only vaguely familiar with the rock opera concept as it is, so that's encouraging to know. I guess I could just keep working on it until I have something listenable. Then they can decide if it's right for the project.
  8. I hadn't even read your 2nd post until after I thought to myself "Back to the Future Trilogy!!!" You must see them. They're fun fun fun.
  9. I just realized that the version of Mt. Dede that I've been working on may or may not be suitable for a rock opera. It's turning out to be more of a rock ballad. I also have some lyrics that I've been playing around with over the last couple of days. Should I go ahead and post them here? EDIT: I started messing with the lyrics some more and they seem to fit better with the story now.
  10. I've never been a fan of opera music by any means, but I've always appreciated & respected this man's talent. His abilities as a vocalist were mind-blowing. He also proved that with enough confidence and perseverance, just about anyone can accomplish their dreams. RIP.
  11. I must be going crazy, because the last time I read that I thought it said "touches".
  12. I guess that makes me certifiably weird then, because I enjoyed the single player portion of Hunters. Also, I thought hunting down the other Hunters was a great concept and worked well. But I'm weird. I still play it too! I appreciate the lowdown on the difference between the games, btw.
  13. Would someone be kind enough to explain to me the difference between whatever a "shooter" is and whatever the Prime games are? Are they not the same thing? I enjoyed both Hunters and the rest of the Prime series and I don't really see many differences between the games as far as genre is concerned. Maybe it's because I'm a more casual gamer than most people,so maybe that's why I don't understand. I've heard the developers call the Prime games FPAs (First Person Adventures). What makes Hunters a shooter as opposed to a typical Metroid Prime game (or FPA)? /confused
  14. Sweet! I just listened to this and I'm really digging the arrangement a lot. There's already been a lot of great suggestions made, so I won't bother. I see a lot of potential and I can't wait to hear the final mix!
  15. I 2nd that. My first time playing I thought there was no way I'd get used to it. I just kept playing though and now I think it's a breeze. MUCH easier than playing Prime 1 & 2. Admittedly though, I wish I could turn quicker, like in Hunters.
  16. Man, I'm about 30% through the game and I'm really wishing I had started out on Veteran mode. This game is way too easy so far. Fun game, just too easy. Awesome boss battles though. My personal criticisms (read at your own risk): I really wish there were more exploration. Even though you can travel to and from any planet you like, you still have to go to a single spot for one reason or another every time you want to advance further in the game. That to me is what makes a game linear and I wish it weren't like that. I also would have really liked to have discovered a bunch of secret sidequests or something just to break things up. Everything feels way too scripted for my personal tastes.
  17. If you haven't played Prime 1 & 2 yet and plan to get them, do yourself a huge favor and play those games before you even touch Prime 3. Going back to playing 1 after mastering 3's controls is not pretty. My Walmart didn't have copies on the shelves yesterday when I went searching, so I asked the nice lady working there if she'd kindly check her shipments to see if the game arrived. Sure enough, after a short bit of searching, she came back to the gaming area with a copy of the game for me and I left a very happy man.
  18. I just got back from the store with my copy of the game. It's oooooooooooooooooooooooon. EDIT: Interesting, as soon as I put the disc in, the Wii immediately initiated a system update.
  19. *bump* Spectacular!!! It's great to see you around here again, Robbie. You and Stephanie are stellar on this track!
  20. Oh wow, djpretzel wasn't kidding about the Twin Peaks vibe. I'm totally catching it. I'm loving this. Not sure how I feel about the percussion at times. Perhaps they're a bit MIDI-ish. It's not too much though to take away from the overall song. I wonder if more acoustic sounding drums would work better, but I don't know. The vocals fit the song's style perfectly. You have a very nice voice. Harmonies put this song over the top in a very nice way. There's so much sweetness at the end, so much that in the right mood and setting, would definitely bring emotional tears to my eyes. Very nice mixing and instrumentation all around. Good job on this! I will most definitely be listening to this again and again.
  21. Agreed on both counts. CoD looks awesome, especially since it's modern warfare. Hunters controls are perfect for the DS. I'm really hoping to see more FPS games on the DS with those same controls.
  22. haha, you and me both. They're so yummy! Now I've got something like 15+ DS games on my list of games to get before the end of the year.
  23. I have yet to see a trailer, but... As a casual movie goer, I have to say I'm pretty excited to see Robert Downey Jr. in this role. He's a great actor and I have no doubts that he'll be fun to watch.
  24. That's amazing. I just watched that whole thing. Somehow I can't help but think that anyone could have this ability, so long as we are somehow able to find a way to tap into it.
