  1. Hello, there! I'm working on a piano arrangement of Peter Connelly's 'Theme' from 'Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation' and, since I don't play piano, I was hoping I could find a pianist who'd like to work on it with me. Here's a demo of the mix: It's not perfect and needs few changes here and there to sound better (and playable too, perhaps XD). So if you'd like to help me arrange it, and eventually perform it, please contact me. You can find the MIDI file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/rqsi6xni2ovdxwe/TR+WIP+-+Piano.mid This year celebrates the franchise' 20th Anniversary, so let's give the lady a great present for the occasion
  2. I know it may be too much to ask but, honestly, I'd be more excited if each composer of S3 could confirm which track(s) in the game they were involved in. We know Brad Buxer wrote 'Ice Cap' but I'd like to know who I have to thank for 'Hydrocity'... or 'Marble Garden'
  3. Oh, yeah... That's right! Well, I hope I'd be able finish that piece before Saint Valentine's Day then ^^ Will work on these issues very soon. Thanks for the feedback
  4. Hi, OC ReMix! This year, Lara Croft celebrates her 20th Birthday and, since the franchise only has one remix on OCR (the great 'Adventure Is in the Air' by EmptyMy), I thought it could be nice to offer the lady a second one just for the occasion. I actually started a piano arrangement of Peter Connelly's 'Theme' (from 'Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation') and was wondering if you guys could give me feedbacks so I can try to make it OCR worthy (if it is possible to ^^'). Bare in mind that the song was not humanized yet -- I'd like to have the whole composition right before I eventually start recording a real-life piano play. Original Version: Remix: I wouldn't mind collaborate with any of you if you think this WIP could actually fit another genre better -- like a rock ballad or somehting -- and would like to help with the transposition Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to you all!
  5. I love it... a lot! Really like the energy and emotion of this track! I just think that, sometimes, one of the cymbals is a tiny bit too loud -- I also feel like it's saturated (but maybe I'm wrong). Try to lower the velocity a little to see if it's not better. I'm sure the lead synth could benefit a lot from this change since the cymbal often stops us from focusing on its melody. If it's going to be part of the album you're currently working on, let me tell you this is another reason for me to look forward to its release
  6. I actually started working on a Tomb Raider mix today in order to celebrate Lara Croft's 20th Birthday this year -- 25 October 1996. If this Anniversary Album is going to be produced, I'd love to join in with this track :3
  7. A Merry Christmas to everyone! This was a very fun project to work on and I'd like to thank everyone involved for their very helpful advices and feedbacks! Can't wait to get involved in another OCR project
  8. I love the original 'Parasite Eve' soundtrack and I'd really enjoy hearing more arrangements from this game on OCR too. 'Plosive Attack' is, indeed, a very powerful track that just screams to be remixed: Hope someone will take care of it very soon ^^
  9. I discovered OCR back in... 2006? No, maybe a bit later ^^ I remember the first thing I heard from the site was stuff from 'Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos.' I used to air-guitar on SnappleMan's crazy remixes when I was alone in my bedroom -- these were the days This album is still to this day one of my all-time favorite arrangement albums! Really hope this website will continue to bring us insanely good and free ReMixes/Arrangement Albums for the next 16 years. ... I still have lots of space left for that in the computer :3
  10. Have you checked OCR's 'Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos' Album? Daniel Baranowsky actually did a pretty good remix out of these sources ('Caution: Echidnas May Eat Your Brain') ^^
  11. I really like how you took this energic tune and arranged it into a relaxing ambient one. I'm not really a big fan of background nature sounds that are present all the way through an entire track, but since I couldn't stop listening because of how beautiful the instruments and melody were, I guess I could ignore that here. The only moment I had a problem with was the one-minute-long segment where it is almost only the rain samples playing. I just thought it was too long and really wanted to skip that part half-way through to get to the next instrumental one. Again, maybe it's just me, but I'll make it a bit shorter. Otherwise, it's great stuff. A real pleasure to listen to and relax while doing so. Well done!
  12. Wow! Dj Mokram and DusK joined the project? So much pressure right now! By the way, boss, I saw you still haven't added 'mattmatrice' to the remixer list. We recently decided we will work together on our track.
  13. Well, I enjoy that theme too... a lot! But I'm not feeling very confident about taking care of the ending themes T.T I was actually thinking that, maybe, I could do a medley of the Title Screen themes from 'Sonic & Knuckles', 'Sonic CD (US)' and 'Sonic The Hedgehog (Mega Drive)'. Unless someone is already taking care of this medley.
  14. I have to say, working on a 'Title Themes Medley' could interest me. Can I just ask if we are free to choose the themes we'd like to include in the medley? Or do we have to cover very specific ones?
  15. Can I join the project? :3 I'd like to remix the Mega Drive version of 'Panic Puppet Zone Act 2' for this album.
  16. I also use MIDI files for my remixes, since I'm not so good at transcribing anything by ear. But before I start sequencing my own mix, I want to download as many MIDIs as possible from as many different sequencers as I can. Then I take a close look (and listen) at every one of them and, when I start seeing similarities, I'd like to think that's because the original track was composed that way (otherwise, this could only mean all sequencers have the same very bad audition). Working with a track you're very familiar with will also help, so don't be afraid to listen to the source as many time as you think it's necessary. You'll spot all the errors you'd want to correct more easily.
  17. Well, since there's a 'Post Your Art!' section in these forums, and OC ReMix is all about VGM, why can't we share our video game fan arts with each other? (I don't actually like to use the word 'art' but anyway...) Here's some of my stuff: Sonic The Hedgehog: (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Sonic-Teleported-Up-503575121) (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Egg-Robo-Redesign-503327227) Metroid (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Samus-Aran-504811149) Chrono Trigger (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Frog-Pencil-509466809) (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Schala-Pencil-512059051) The Legend of Zelda: (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Princess-Ruto-513204549) (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Valentine-s-Day-2015-Healing-Lady-Comic-513643796) (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Valentine-s-Day-2015-Healing-Lady-513853474) Mighty No. 9 & Shantae: (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Mighty-No-9-and-Shantae-553155045) Jak & Daxter: (http://classicgamer76.deviantart.com/art/Keira-and-Daxter-559400384) Okay! What about you, guys!? Let me see your works!
  18. I like what you've done here! Sure, it stays very similar to the original, but the added guitar solo makes the mix really sound fresh! However, I think the piece ends quite abruptly and is also too lood, in my opinion. I know the orignal source has a weird ending too, but I'd probably continue the synth melody for a few more seconds to make the track ends more smoothly if I were you. Other than that, I don't have anything to say. I think it's well produced and very pleasant to listen to. Great job modernizing that awesome track!
  19. So... how's the project going, Sir_NutS? Any idea of when you'll be releasing this little piece of awesomeness yet?
  20. I'll probably send you a WIP of mine very soon... even though it still needs a lot of work. Also, are you taking care of the album cover art again this year, boss?
  21. I'd really want to join this project! Sounds like fun! I'd like to do an electro-christmasy version of 'Cloud Man Stage' from 'Mega Man VII' to celebrate this years' 25th of December! I may need to find some people to collaborate with though ^^'
  22. Sorry in advance for: 1 - my bad english and 2 - my lack of knowledge regarding technical music terms ^^'

  23. Thanks Garpocalypse. These are very helpful advices. I'll definitely try to do something about the 'organic' instruments as well as the bass and piano segments you mentioned. I was also wondering if you guys think each part of the mix flows in a not too abrupt way with one another -- Is it coherent enough? Also, here are few things I remain sceptical about: - Do some segments feel too empty (especially that one near the end, after the flute and before the oboe ; or that other one when the strings are introduced for the first time)? - Is there a need to had other instruments during some other parts? - Does the guitar fade-out near the end sound right? - Do you think any other arrangements still need to be made (except for the very obvious bad sound producing/mixing/mastering)? Seriously, I have a real thirst for feedbacks, critisms and reviews. So don't be afraid to tell me everything you think about the remix so I can learn from my mistakes, correct them, and make the track better.
  24. Hi, everyone! It's kinda intimidating for me to post a topic here. Especially since a lot of my favorite ReMixers already precede me by sharing their own WIPs with you all before they quickly became really outstanding pieces of music. I recently worked on a remix of 'Ada's Theme' from 'Resident Evil 2' and, as I know it's far from being perfect, I was wondering if I could get some very helpful advices from you guys. Maybe it'll help me make the track … listenable. Original Source: Remix (ver. 2.0): http://www.mediafire.com/download/8d42zq42ypd23ee/Ada's+Theme+%28ver.+2.0%29.mp3 I do not expect it to be good enough to be submitted to OCR, I am way too bad at mixing and mastering to make it sound THAT great. I just wish I could end up with the best arrangements I possibly can for it. Thanks in advance.
