  1. First off, I have to say that I overall enjoyed this piece. Of course, I've enjoyed pretty much everything that Jeremy has done. I don't really have a problem with it being close to the original, but like Jared said, I think a little more dynamic contrast would have helped. The entire song was just loud. I have a few other issues with the song, but I still thing it's very well composed and an enjoyable listen.
  2. Nope, this is the only thread concerning this.
  3. Cool! I like where it's going towards the end of the song (actually going into the theme that the audition is on). Only suggestion I really have is to improve the mixing. Other than that, very peppy and clean. What did you use for the brass? Thanks. I used SAM brass, can be found here: http://www.projectsam.com What other libraries did you use? I figured pretty much everyone would be using soundfonts.
  4. Man, this is some good stuff, I've always been a fan of jazz, especially small combos. I was a little skeptical when I decided to listen to this song. I've listen to some of the other jazzish remixes on this site, and i wasn't too impressed. But this is great. You could have told me that this was done by a pro, and I'd probably beleive you. Good stuff.
  5. I have to say that I liked this mix. as blizihizake said, it's quite soothing and I find it relaxing. Definitely a good song to hang on to.
  6. YAY!! Another good piano mix. This is a good arrangement by lightwarmth and some good playing by Nex. You guys make a great combo.
  7. Hmmm, how'd I miss when this was posted? I loved this song when I first heard the version mastered by SGX. Just listened to it a few minutes ago, still love it. Hope sephfire churns out (at least) a couple more songs like this in the future.
  8. I agree. I found myself losing interest in listining to it around 3 and a half minutes. of course, that could just be cause conan o'brien was on....
  9. I must say, I really enjoyed this. At first I didn't really enjoy GrayLightning's unique and different style. But as I listened to more of his stuff, I grew to love it, and that's exactly how I feel about this one. I love it.
  10. Not exactly the type of stuff that I listen to or like all that much, but I can listen to and appreciate pretty much any good piece of music (unless it's country, bleh..) which this is. Good stuff.
  11. That would explain why the strings sounds so good. My only wish (can't really call it a complaint, this song is too pretty sounding to complain about) is that there was more brass in it so that we got more of a full orchestra sound as opposed to the string orchestra with some woodwinds. Either way, this is really good.
  12. it's a pretty good arrangement, but damn, this has the one thing that really truly annoys me about music, it's outta tune. I'm one of those people who has problems playing my piano when it's slightly outta tune (when most other people don't even notice it). But it's still a pretty good arrangement though.
  13. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Awesome beat....wait, that's been said....Kick ass mix....wait, been said too....oh well, I love this. This gets the Smackahoe Tribe Seal of Apporval....oh, I don't have a seal....screw it. Just listen to the song. It rocks.
  14. This sounds really good. A nice slow soft piece for everyone here. I can't figure out which sound from SD3 this is either. But this is definitely worth a listen.
  15. I think i started to like this song the second i heard the rhodes....so in the beginning. It's one of those soft mellow kinda chill songs that you just wanna listen to while you're sitting on your ass doing nothing and enjoying every second of it. Good mix.
  16. This is interesting. Not exactly the style of music I normally listen to, but it definite is worth a listen. Like TCK said, this would be a lot nicer to listen to if it was higher quality, but all in all it's a solid piece ( a little weird though...but ain't nothin wrong with that).
  17. Great googally moogally.... I can't believe i never reviewed this when I was posting as tgfoo.....hmmmm....anyways not much more i can say than what's already been said...good stuff
  18. I dunno.....while I think that this is a pretty decent mix, the first thing I thought when listening to this was "this sounds really similar to the piano version of this song" Either way, this song is still very pleasant to listen to better than the original. To me though, it sounds too much like the arranged piano version with some ambient tones over top of it.... I dunno, feels like i should just listen to the piano or orchestral versions instead.
  19. First off, this a prety original mix. Way to make something outta pretty much Arkimedes. I often thought of ways to make mixes of sounds from Halo, but I never could have thought of something like this. The only thing about this mix that kinda annoys me is the "don't stop" part. It just gets a little old for me. Even so, a great mix.
  20. I must say, this is good. I love synth is this song. The way everything just seems to mesh together is simply magical. This is some good stuff.
  21. Mmmmmmm......Lovin this. As a piano player myself I love a good piano arrangment. This is beyond good. Seriously, great stuff.
  22. Eh, i think this is decent. Like most of you, i'm not too fond of the guitar....i'd say my biggest complaint about it isn't the distortion (though i dont' particularly like it that much) it's that the notes seem cut off and too short....I'd say that the best thing about this mix is the acoustic accompanyment. Overall, i just wasn't feelin this though. Edit: Oops...i can't type...
