  1. Equinox, please don't taunt the remixers. While you may be getting a few laughs, you'll end up creating a mess on the forums that the moderators have to clean up. The moderators had to do this when Eccles went on his little tirade in the WIP forums a year ago.
  2. Basically what you need is a more decent sound system for your computer for the sake of monitoring (and maybe better sound for your music and computer games.) Look into the more pricier end of headphones (headphones normally in the 50+ dollar range) and bookshelf speakers.
  3. I think these are very basic questions that are covered in the tutorials that comes with FruityLoops. Do not be afraid to read the manual - it comes with FruityLoops for a reason. Also, you might want to look through the first few pages - a lot of the other questions you asked have been replied quite thoroughly in tbose pages.
  4. Actually you can. In the step sequencer there is a box where you can edit the number of beats are in that bar (loop). Edit - This is good enough if you desire to do things. Use the Piano roll to put in all the beats and melodies in the alternate beat count.
  5. It's a very common issue as the soundfont player is only a demo. You have to buy the Soundfont Player on the website to get a key to unlock it.
  6. While it being breaks, it does have a dark disco vibe to it. Awesome for progressice break sets. Like this is actually very decent, I love the leads and stuff. It is like a funky version of Serious Sam music. I love it.
  7. Since I have fallen off the remixer's list, I still have not fallen from supporting this project. Let's not drag this on.
  8. I remember that thread by Evil_Ice. I even posted in it a few times. I remember PriZM taking up the challenge. I recall his very first WIP from all the versions to the submission. Personally, this is the style of a remix that I like hereing, a small phrase manipulated over and over to create a new beast. Good job, PriZM.
  9. Um... while not at all trancy, rather softer form of happy hardcore, which is good as I was just listening to a DJ Tyco set. This song would actually sound very sweet in a happy hardcore set actually with it being a very nice and obvious throwback to 80's dance music. Bery nice, be it slightly compressed and trying to go through a lot a bit too quickly and so on but nice.
  10. Nice piece. A fun track to change a pace to in a breaks set which is a good thing. Electronica needs more solid off-the-wall-esque pieces and this fits that bill.
  11. Here is a very snazzy reverb plugin that is free. Much cleaner sound than any of the free reverb plugins I have. http://www.dasample.com/index.php?show=glaceverb
  12. No. 1) have you read the manueal? Have read about the FX Mixer? Go read it up. No. 2) Have you tried making your own drum track? Just curious. Often times you will get better results.
  13. Yea, makes me sad when people refuse to destroy kick ass remixes by dumbing them down into fundamental trance. Oh well, ain't up to us. Well, it would sound better as happy hardcore. Right now it is some weird skewing of festive electronic dance smorgasborgyborgyborgborg... Anyways, cute.
  14. I would suspect the Fast in Fast LP stands for a fast roll-off in the low pass filter which gives the sound a harsher sound which can be desirable for harsher and colder sounds. Good for cheap acid sounds.
  15. The techno acid-bass needs more bass, other than that just a simple bass boost for the track would suffice in the club. Sounds like something that my friend Matt Hatter might spin in his hardcore dnb sets. An eq update would be nice though. Otherwise pretty nice.
  16. Then it's possible that stickies themselves have a time limit. Threads get deleted after a month not 2 weeks, most of the time.
  17. Yeah, it sounds more like Bugs Bunny (who was the composer for that cartoon's music) and Aaron Copeland to me.
  18. Try the vst sticky. There might be a few good recommendations there.
  19. Ok, it's me or my headphones are crapping out on me. The levels seem off, especially the booming timpanis and the pizzicatto strings as they are just taking a toll on them. I don't know if it is my headphones byt just playing with the volumes just doesn't help. I certainly don't think it's the samples nor the stereo panning, just the levels at which everything are set. Time to go listen to some more orchestral pieces on these headphones and I'll get back to you all.
  20. Just remember I dropped e1m2 and decided to pick up Babel.
  21. I think I called it and as of right now, I think I am making progress here - moreso than e1m2. You can e1m2 if you so desire though. It is open.
  22. e2m8 sounds a bit more workable.... I'll see if I can get any further. I'll confirm later if I get anywhere it.
  23. I want a different song. I'm hating e1m2. Can I swap with someone?
  24. Listen to some D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Umek, Chris Liberator, Chris Liebing, Mistress Barbara, Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Patrick DSP.... List goes on, but what techno is mainly about is the glorification of the electronic sound - as mechanical as can be - and then make it danceable. Some of it not and thus called experimental.
  25. Obviously you don't anything about techno. Gecko rarely ever makes techno - more like house, techstep, electro or something funky. Real techno is something you'd think is terrible. What your thinking of electronica (listening electronic music - I just learned about that a few days ago instead of the old concept that electronica was the proper term for the term techno! heh) Anyways on this piece, I found the rhythm a bit cheesy at the start, the jazzed rhythm is better but the rhythm sounds like Fairlight/Simmons drums trying to act like 909s which doesn't work. It doesn't really add to the aural depth as the bass too is weak. As for the synths, they are ok as if to give a fresh new take on the cliched JP-8000 supersaw trance of the funny nation under the sea. However, they don't really catch my attention as it is cliched and it bores me a bit. However, the take on the melody makes up for that, I guess.
