  1. Damned is a busy dude, you see. I am too. I sympathize. I'm gonna go get another Deoxys or two at gamestop on Sunday, yay! Hooray for me! ...am I the only one who secretly hates Deoxys for having such rediculous stats? It's almost like GameFreak wasn't even being serious.
  2. What, that thing? You never mentioned it again or offered up a time, so I was beginning to wonder if you hadn't already acquired one. I have your code entered and all, just tell me when to be online. I figure, you asked for it, you ought to be the one to make an effort. I'm just being nice Especially since I might not get another one for a long time, but what the hey. GJ on the battle tower win, btw. Once I get a new file going in Pearl or Diamond or something, I'll have to start hammering that place myself.
  3. Actually, I've heard reports that the Manaphy, Darkrai and Deoxys distributed via Mystery Gift can never be shiny for some reason. People on Smogon were claiming it to be true, and you can't get much more reliable, so I tend to not doubt them.
  4. Yes. Also, same here. However, I've used a shit ton of my TM stock lately for random last minute UU battles (that I lost), so a little extra TM26 can't hurt. You can reach me on AIM, or post here. Seriously, why the HELL did they make pretty much all the BEST TMs a one-shot deal? Grass Knot, Roost, Stealth Rock, Sleep Talk, Explosion, Payback... If it weren't for the fact that I am a total tool and bought a version 1.0 Japanese Pearl when it came out there's no way I'd survive on just ONE of each of those. If I had another DS I'd spend weeks just beating the hell out of Pearl to get more TMs and extra Heatran or something. Which reminds me, I never got a decent Dialga on my US Diamond ever. Need to borrow a DS OH! My FC is 4510-6963-8933. I go by Aniny or Adam, whatev.
  5. Actually, you can just set the Wii's clock ahead each time and cheat it. But yes, even so, my estimate of an hour is still off. Well, first of all, most of my favorite evolutionary lines are from RBY, which I started with. However, overall, I'd say my favorite generation has been IV. Putting aside the fact that standard OU battles are just as centralized as they have always been AND how ridiculous GameFreak made Garchomp, there has been a HUGE show of creativity spread across the Shinnoh Dex. I think all the super-awesome evolutions to old, unappreciated pokemon really pushed it over the edge, too. HEY DAMNED! Do you still want a Black Sludge or what, man? I'm a fair guy.
  6. Some of the ones "Haley" trades you seem pretty awesome, but... is it worth the $10 to me? Not really. If I go on another breeding spree later, maybe I'll need the space, but it's just so lame... even if you do get "unlimited" Mew with every purchase. I hear it takes about an hour to restart Ranch, "reupload" your 1000 pokemon or whatever and get another Mew. Sheesh...
  7. It took me quite a while to even realize this was Stickerbush Symphony. I went back and listened to it again afterward, though. I liked it quite a bit. With it being so slow, though, it almost seems... short, you know?
  8. Well Damned my good man, I have a black sludge. I'm not all that thrilled at the prospect of NOT having it anymore, is the problem. I like getting stuff, though. I don't have any Roost or Will-o-wisp at the moment, and Stone Edge or X-scissor are always valuable. Pretty much any TM you get via the Battle Tower. On the pokemon end, I love getting things with egg moves so I can breed dudes for future battlan'. I normally enjoy the pokemon movies well enough, though admittedly I haven't watched any after the Latias/Latios one. The Jirachi/Deoxys movies looked sooooo boring... The Lucario/Mew one looks good, though. Manaphy, don't care. And the latest two definitely look cool enough. TBH I just can't stand the dub voices most of the time.
  9. TBH, there aren't enough people on OCR who actually obsess over Pokemon to hold much of a discussion. I used to be all over Smogon, but there are just too many newbs now. I think there are more die-hard Poke-nerds on /v/ now than any of the other communities I know of. The Platinum boxart is GORGEOUS, though.
  10. I have two shows for you. One is Beat Angel Escalayer, and usually you watch that with a kleenex. 3 episodes BUT SERIOUSLY NOW, how about a 2 episode show? Puni Puni Poemy is fucking awesome. It's like Excel Saga, only there's a joke about once every 30 seconds! Also, surprises!
  11. Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. is great, sure, but it's not especially short, even if you JUST count one season. I don't think either movie counts, really... If we were just suggesting feature-length anime then I'd have plugged Akira by now. Everyone needs to see Akira just once to really appreciate where anime as an art form took it's big step into the modern day future. Anyway. I COULD ONLY HOPE the reason you didn't "get" Eva was because you never finished it. Even the people who just watch the movie won't understand... in fact, I'd imagine if you only JUST saw the movie you'd probably hate it. Maybe. It'd ruin the experience, at least. I've met people who've seen Eva but were generally disinterested, though. Basically... there are anime that seem to appeal to cerebral individuals much more than the casual thrill-seeker. Eva is one of them. You watch it to be entertained, of course, but also to kind of soak up all these complex relationships between the characters, the spiritual philosophy, and then just let the action or sexual tension wash over it all from time to time. It's considered a masterpiece because the depth is multifaceted, not just because it was a landmark foray into mecha anime in general. The show was designed from the ground up to make people think as a direct "kick in the balls" to the prevailing mecha shows of the day. But, you have to remember Ideon! Evangelion got a lot of it's ideas from that show. And what a show it was! The "Cute" or "Harem" anime are fine, too. They have their place. But, now that I'm getting older and the harsh reality of life is finally starting to settle into my adult mind, I can't stomach these things anymore unless they've got another tier to their appeal. Tenchi Muyo had the sci-fi high drama as a generic backdrop to fall back on (and an excuse for some cool effects). Love Hina, though, was just an endless Tsundere circlejerk. The underlying plot wasn't very original, nor were the characters deep. Most of the appeal lay with the incessant teasing of the nerdy sex-deprived male protagonist. EDIT: Giant Robo and Read of Die are great, yes.

  13. WHOA I'M SORRY good thing this is coming from a guy who liked Elfen Lied or else I'd be worried. AHEM. Xenosaga I & II The World Ends With You Trauma Center: Under the Knife Tales of Innocence Super Robot Wars W Sonic Rush Adventure Sonic Rush The Rub Rabbits! Professor Layton and the Curious Village Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Mega Man ZX Advent Mega Man ZX Lunar Knights Luminous Arc 2 Will Luminous Arc Guilty Gear Dust Strikers Flower, Sun, and Rain Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy III Feel the Magic: XY/XX Exit Etrian Odyssey Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Contra 4 Contact Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Oh man you're right, none whatsoever. Shit, I give up.
  14. Eva isn't short, but together with the movie it's one of my all-time highest-ranking video experiences period. PERIOD. FLCL is short and good. I liked The Big O a ton. It's only 13 episodes long (well, if you watch the second season too, that means 26), and it's awesome. Maybe. Some people don't like the art style... personally, I love it. All-in-all, if an anime hasn't yet been marketed in the USA at this point, then don't expect it to be much more than decent (unless it's old; old stuff is the tits). People who watch Haruhi and Lucky Star and claim to greatly enjoy such experiences baffle me to no end. Also Elfen Lied was emo garbage. Never was there anything to think about, ever, except "gee, can it get any more TITS and BLOOD?" I guess if harem anime tits symdrome and gore are your thing then this is a fantastic viewing experience. "Oh man these plot turns. Did not see that coming no sir. Gee." Also, if you can't do CGI RIGHT then don't do it, imo.
  15. I've been a die-hard Nintendrone since day #1. There have been some great games, but honestly, it's Gamecube all over again: next to no worthwhile 3rd party games, good 1st party games are too far between, long periods where nothing new seems to happen at all. On 360 and PS3, new things keep cropping up. It's like Nintendo doesn't want you to know (that they have no clue what to do next for Wii). The DS is fantastic, though!
  16. Nintendo rarely if ever uses Game Freak's built-in events for the secret legendaries. In fact, the only one I remember them actually using was the one built into GSC for getting Celebi. You had to download the GS Ball off their cell phone network thingy on certain days... THAT SAID yes I did get a Darkrai. I'm kinda glad they had the event near my city, since it seems like Brushfire was having one hell of a time getting his Diamond back from his buddy The dude at the Pokemart still has him wrapped up in a box, though, since I haven't been motivated to restart one billion times for a decent one today. Soooooo sweeeeeeeeeeeet~
  17. Look at it this way, guys... it's never going to be "perfect." You put in your love and time, you have some work to show for it, and the project is finally coming out later this year, all told. Personally, I'd think you have a few months to bang out an "improved" version, if you so choose. That's a decent ammount of time if you just worked on one or two, depending on how fast you work. In the meantime, there's a finished product waiting to be released. Obviously, only you guys can make the final call, but me? I'd like there to be something released for a track rather than nothing. If you honestly think your old work is going to drag the project down in terms of public reception and you'd rather just opt out instead of redo the track, well... honestly, let's just say I'd be pretty surprised if you could get me to agree to that after I listened to the track myself. I'd chalk it up to just being really hard on yourself.
  18. Somehow... the second time I played through my Japanese Pearl, the first female Chimchar I got was Hasty and ended up having a speed IV of 31! Thing is, she's stranded in Diamond, waiting to get knocked up... meanwhile, my Infernape/Floatzel runthrough of Pearl is kinda at a halt. :[ One day I'll trade that monkey back over...
  19. You know, I thought the cheesiness of it all was pretty charming. My only gripe was the monkeys. The ants I even liked, but the monkeys were too predictable. I loved the film. My parents and sisters thought National Treasure II was way better, but I found that one to be WAAAAAAAAAAAY over-acted to the point that it killed it for me halfway through. We all have our tastes.
  20. Good. We see eye to eye, then. I'd make some comment on how this "witty, eye-grabbing" video is some such or another, but I guess we all have our tastes. I think Yahtzee's a high-larious guy, really.
