At what point is "utilizing freely-available material for personal amusement" interpreted as "piracy"? If the title is discontinued, then they aren't selling any copies. If they aren't selling any copies, they aren't making any money. Under those circumstances, then I can see no reason to use such a damning term. Besides, what about people who sell their rare games on eBay and rake in like ten times what the game originally retailed for? Does that make them pirates or just opportunistic bastards?

Problem is that emulators aren't perfect and some games don't run right. For example, with Project64 I tried to play Rogue Squadron, just for nostalgia's sake, mind you. Well I got some nostalgia, all right. It was like the NES days all over again. Garbled title screen and no playability because something was messed up somewhere. So while I do like to have save-states sometimes you just can't do without a physical copy and the hardware to run it on.

It was pretty damn good and while it may not have been the best game in the world, it certainly was different. That alone makes it worth keeping because it's not some generic beat-em-up or ignorable turn-based RPG.

I think that the dialogue you get from your allies is a lot more, uh, interesting than anything that you hear during a cutscene. For example: "For your information, they're hazel. Now stop staring!" And for lulz: "Cheeky monkey!" ...really, you should just look up the dialogue databanks on halo.bungie.org and see (hear) for yourself.

I don't think it's humanly possible to do a barrel roll without the aid of a jet. I have to say that adding music to the duel between Ben and Vader only detracts from it. It can be argued that by omitting any scoring while they are trading blows, it captures the understated idea that Ben fully expects to depart from that plane of existence, and is merely buying time. Originally there was silence save for the effects of the lightsabers striking each other, Vader's respirator, and the dialogue; the music doesn't return until the end of the duel, that signifies the emotional sting of shock and horror experienced by Luke at watching his mentor die. So...yeah. I'm going to be a purist in this instance and say "what the balls was this guy thinking?"

Please, for the love of God. Neither you nor he have to come running to shoot your mouth off just because I say something. It's old. It's tired. And nobody appreciates it.

The lesson here is that you're getting your feathers in a ruffle over something that WASN'T EVEN YOUR BUSINESS to begin with. I mean for fuck's sake, man, stop trying to protect everyone because you fucking suck at it.

I'm talking about the people who specifically go out of their way to avoid watching dubs because they are dubs. As if the original voice actors are any better at what they do than the guys working for the five or six studios that are even bothering to license, translate, and distribute titles. Not to mention that subbed shows are hit-or-miss, especially considering how not everyone who tries to translate stuff is any good at it. And it's not that hard to find examples of what I'm talking about, either. As far as idioms and cultural nuances go, perhaps you do lose something in the translation, but then, we have our own sayings and aphorisms and things of that nature that probably don't translate accurately, either. It's a two-way street. And by the way, no, they will not do a better job than Knocking on Heaven's Door, though this is the Live-Action vs. Animated bias talking.
