  1. Uh...less than you'd think, actually. At any rate, Fox players soon start having extreme difficulty getting a chance to blast me off. They either mistime an attack or do something stupid like being feinted off the edge of the stage.
  2. It sounds like EazyP likes fox just a little too much. Are you gay for Fox, Easy P? I bet you are. Fox hitting me with a smash attack at 80% doesn't bother me too much. It's the direction that matters. (I play Peach rather regularly and as far as she flies and can still recover, plus the MENACING forward+A air attack (crown slap pwnage!) means I'm used to characters who float easily. Fox is just too easy to toss off and counter.)
  3. Ass. You don't dream about djpretzel. You hope djp dreams about you, and then you scream and run.
  4. I'll let you know when I finish the SNES version. D:
  5. The real thing to think of is "Okay, my foe now has a powerful item that can deliver one-hit knockouts. How do I work around that?" Or better yet, "how can I deny him the item to begin with, short of grabbing it myself?" Using an item presents its own risks and rewards; if it is used improperly it can be your downfall instead of your salvation. Case in point, bob-ombs and proximity mines...
  6. *throws the Home Run Bat at Vig's face while rushing in to do a Running A followed by a Forward Smash* That's right. I went there. No but seriously, we do like us some Smash Brothers. Let's evaluate each other. Which I don't know when it should be...but yes! Let's!
  7. I'm now home and safe and wishing I'd asked pixie for a kiss (instead of hug but zircon'd probably deck me for that ) Aasaw;oi3jrw my toes are still cold, damn you snow! But lots of fond memories and did we really spend two hours talking? Also Noob must not chew on my hand, it is not a cuttlebone. Birdie beep!
  8. Well at least it's not canceled entirely which is good news, but the weather here wasn't that bad (but of course cities handle inclement weather differently )
  9. I need a Wii. Like bad. And there still aren't any. '_' I hate everyone.
  10. You should check the front page again because there's been several mixes posted just in the last two weeks we've had like four new ones, and over the two months that you claim there's been no new remixes there have been a grand total of twelve. Most recording-industry artists don't produce that many tracks in a YEAR so I'd hardly call that "vacation." Honestly why are you even posting a thread about this? Remixing isn't an instant process--unlike the ramen cups you can buy at 7-11 they don't just write themselves. The musicians on this site have to spend a good deal of time and effort to reinterpret tracks into something that people will want to listen to regardless of others' work and the quality of the original track itself. Here's what really gets me though: why are you posting this in the requests forum anyway? This thread should serve as an example of how NOT to inspire people to make and submit new remixes for judging. Thin Crust, you're coming off more as a spoiled brat who is chagrined that things aren't happening because he wants them to rather than a concerned community member who is wondering what's going on in the musicians' lives. Shame on you. If you think we need some more new remixes I dare you to give it a go and see if you even get something done and posted to the WIP forum before two months pass (and if it gets accepted and posted to the main site after such quick work I will be genuinely impressed).
  11. Don't hate him because he's beautiful. Although, one of my friends has suggested that the headband Marth wears is actually a tiara. I will hate him because of c-stick spammers The only thing I spam is Marth's counter because it's a lot better than Roy's. Seriously it is.
  12. If the characters perform anywhere near as well in actual gameplay as they do in the preview trailers I'm sure that a lot of people will be very pleased regardless of how long or short the game is. That, and multiplayer is the ultimate draw of Smash Brothers. Four friends and a big-screen TV. That is true Zen.
  13. Maybe I'm shortchanging myself but I really don't see myself as having the kind of patience or dedication necessary for learning advanced techniques and applying them in-game. I do prefer, as stated before, to keep my distance and wither my opponent down with ranged attacks and thrown objects, moving in for the kill when the damage is sufficient. Of course using the right move at the right time is key; even so I still hold to my mantra that you can beat a flashy opponent without too much effort or muscle-destroying thumbwork if you bide your time and play things right. After all he who hesitates is lost but he who attacks without a plan is equally susceptible to failure. In any event the computer can still whip my ass but I'm learning how to at least stay on my feet. Human players are much easier because however many skills they have most tend to have a set repertoire and a pattern of attacks they like to rely on (much like bosses in Megaman). Figuring out their preferences and breaking them is a step towards becoming a stronger player. And for the record there aren't really any tiers to behold in Smash; in the right hands a supposedly weak character can dominate the match from start to finish. (Jiggly haters, try using Pound a few times to break your opponents up and set them up for stronger smash attacks and throws. Pichu decriers, learn the power of the traveling Thunderbolt. It saves the little guy some pain and interdicts players quite nicely when executed properly. And those of you who think Kirby is weak, well, he is, but he can deal out a lot of damage in a relatively short amount of time despite the low power of his hits. He excels at knockback as a result.)
  14. Taucer's right, wavedashing (when executed properly) can be the key to success over defeat. Although I still prefer not to learn and rely on good old fashioned throw everything I can get my hands on.
  15. My mains are in THIS ORDER: Peach, Samus and Ness. As Taucer can attest, I will murder you with peach. But he still beats me with Doc...
  16. Ice Climbers. lol Human players can't use them but the CPU is so cheap it's not funny.
  17. The Dragon bosses in Golden Sun and The Lost Age. Maybe it's just me doing it wrong but I always end up totally dead at least once. (I can't even beat TLA though )
  18. I can tell that some people do have their reservations with this remix; personally I think it's a very well-executed piece that brings to mind some of the more popular symphonic metal performers (which I sall not name to let the reader draw their own conclusions). All in all it's a powerful piece that evokes the proper sense of wonder and enchantment, which I would liken to visiting Disney World and seeing more than just the castle. The electric guitar was a nice touch, reminding the listener that this is the future but that chivalry can still survive in an age dominated by machines and impersonal computers keeping us connected as a society.
  19. So after playing a few Super Sudden Death matches I started thinking of new bonuses that could be earned in Brawl: Bunker Buster: Broke an enemy's shield with an explosive (8000 points) Drill Bit: Caused 100% or more damage with the Screw Attack (5000 points) Clumsy KO: KO'd an enemy by dropping an item onto them (10000 points) Pokemon Thief: Caught a pokeball thrown at you (1000 points) ...this is just a start but if anyone has anything to add to the list that they think should be bonuses go right ahead
  20. If they put any Castlevania characters in Brawl, it should either be the naked lesbian succubus or Soma f'in Cruz. Put that pussy Link in his place. Other than that I don't really have any suggestions for the game other than make it online (which it probably will be) and to fix certain characters' use of the home-run bat. IT'S NOT A FRIGGING SWORD, DON'T STAB WITH IT.
  21. Shooter bosses are wimps... So for all-time hardest boss? Hard to say. But let's go oldschool. Koopa, world 8-4. Fireballs and hammers flowing forth like a river of death, the key on the other side glowing tauntingly, and you know that by that point you've lost your fireflower and can't zap him from a distance.
  22. Yeah. And while several genres seem to work really well with the wii-mote (especially FPS, of course ), fighting games aren't one of them. There'd be nothing intuitive about it. I'm sure everyone was relieved when they announced it wasn't gonna use the wii-mote. I know I was. It just...wouldn't work. About Final Destination, I like it as a stage. I agree, though, that it definitely favors some characters over others. I think the tiers do exist, but they're amplified quite a bit when played on Final Destination, no items. I don't notice any tiers. I can beat the snot out of anyone with anybody on any stage. There's no tiers.
  23. LA (the one after LoZ) is Adventure of Link. The second one is Link's Awakening. So no, he didn't miss one. Therefore...
  24. I reiterate that we won't likely be seeing any square characters, so stop speculating on them already. Instead think about what other second party chars (and for the record Konami is a third party but they have given Nintendo permission to use Solid snake, thus his appearance in the trailer) will be appearing.
