  1. i have reformatted the thread title to something more appropriate also caaaaaaaake
  2. Poked around a bit on the Steam Forums for this game, and it seems to have the same appeal that something any other simulation game has: it deals heavily with the technical aspects of driving/conducting a train, such as fuel management, track switching, etc. I suppose I can understand the appeal for a train enthusiast. People get interested in the minutia of all sorts of seemingly mundane activities.
  3. There's already one in the works.
  4. You can still idle you know. Just don't run an external program to do it.
  5. The success of a TV show and the success of a movie are two different things. Firefly and Dollhouse didn't die because they were bad shows, they died because FOX doesn't really know what to do with shows like that; they don't know how to sell high-concept science fiction that isn't dressed up as a procedural. You wanna talk about success rate, look at the overall success rate of shows on FOX. They cancel everything. Whedon knows comic books. He writes comic books. He has the proper sensibilities to approach a superhero franchise. Having him direct the Avengers movie is a great idea, because he already has an understanding of the characters and relationships. Avengers will be successful because Marvel knows how to sell their movies. Marvel Studios knows what they're doing; this entire Avengers movie franchise is brilliantly laid out, and is exactly the way a team-up movie like Avengers should be done: introduce heroes in solo adventures and then make a big-ass team movie. Whedon will put out a quality product and Marvel will sell it.
  6. Okay so I bought Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for PC and it's pretty good! I've only tried single player so far, but I've heard the multiplayer is pretty good. Anyone else have this for PC and want to try out some multiplayer? I don't really like playing online games with total strangers; I'd rather play with OCR people. Anyway post here if you're interested. Maybe if enough people play we can get a server going or something. Soldier name is DarkeSword
  7. Yes I know. Silly liberal arts majors.
  8. I will never get this out of my head for the rest of my life.
  9. It's silly, but it sufficiently rocks out. I don't think there's a problem with the kid clips, but I could have done without it. Not a bad arrangement either. OK
  10. If you've gotten to the part of the argument where you start saying things like, "Define 'good'," it's probably a better idea to spend your time on something else.
  11. Oh hey, right on man. (b¯^¯)> EDIT: Well I ordered it from EA's store as a digital download, but failed to realize that EA does some dumb crap where they only give you a year to download it. How stupid is that? Oh well, I guess I should make backups of the installation files in multiple places.
  12. I love The Long Halloween! If you like that make sure you read the sequel, Dark Victory, by the same team (Loeb and Sale).
  13. EVERYBODY CHECK THIS OUT RIGHT NOW!!! asdf
  14. Putting the game name in the artist field? Are you for real? I can't believe that anyone who claims to have any experience in databases and programming would argue for bad metadata. Good God. I'm closing this thread because your proposal is absolutely preposterous.
  15. It had nothing to do with media coverage or lawsuits and everything to do with the fact that sending a gay stripper to someone's home is an absolutely ridiculous form of retaliation.
  16. Blackest Night had very little to do with anything Morrison's doing right now. Actually the only stuff he's really got any influence on right now is the Batman stuff and some of the Multiverse stuff, which has kind of been on the backburner lately. Most of what's going on in the DCU is based around James Robinson's JLA and Superman stuff and Geoff Johns' Green Lantern stuff.
