  1. This isn't a 2D fighting game. It's more like an over-the-shoulder arena fighter, like Virtual-On or something.
  2. I have to agree. I've been playing Final Fantasy XII and The Last Remnant lately, and I have to say that the voice acting is superb. Final Fantasy XII's voice work in particular blew me away in terms of how good it was. It's a far cry from the cheesy anime-dub voice work that you'd expect.
  3. How could that possibly be construed as trolling? Nintendo's WiFi service is terrible.
  4. Looks good, don't forget the number though.
  5. No dude, that's starla's Blue Reflection.
  6. By return I mean monetary return. It's not financially feasible to print up a lot of shirts if they're going to go unsold or not really make us much money.
  7. Er, not so much. What I'm looking for is art related to or actually from the game. This can be something you draw or something you make out of sprites or doctored screens. Unlike the t-shirt designs, these graphics don't have to be puns on the remix title either, just illustrative of what the song evokes. So "Magnet Man Goes West" could actually be a picture of Magnet Man with a cowboy hat or something. As for transparency/alpha channels, please leave those out. These should be "solid" pictures. I've updated my first post with revised details. Oh also, please make sure the Silkscreen font is used properly: if you're using it in Photoshop, turn off anti-aliasing on the text and use size 8pt if you're making your image at a resolution of 72. First post updated with example.
  8. I'm at work right now but I wanted to get all of my ideas down before I forgot.
  9. Hey guys, check out the OCR Tiles Project.
  10. THE OVERCLOCKED REMIX TILES PROJECT —————————————————————— The OCR Tiles Project is something I've been thinking about doing for a while. Following the tradition of my previous threads (OCR-tan, Membership Cards, Judge Cereal, and most importantly, Title T-Shirts), I'd like to call upon the artists in the community to create 100x100px "tiles" inspired by each remix on this site. Using graphics from the associated game or something you drew yourself, create a unique mini-work-of-art that illustrates what the remix is about. PAQs (Pre-emptively Asked Questions): What's the point? I think it'll be fun to see what people can come up with. OCR is a really creative community in more areas than just music, and I like seeing what everyone comes up with. What're you gonna do with these tiles? Not sure yet! Maybe we'll use them to make some kind of online trading card or remix mahjong game or something. Who knows? I'm an OC ReMixer; what if I don't like the tile someone made for one of my mixes? OC ReMixers get veto powers on all tiles associated with their mixes. Are these tiles gonna be integrated with the site? As of now? No, I think think so. Right now this is just a fun community project. Maybe in the future, but I really doubt it. I'm bad at art, but I still want to help. What can I do? We're gonna need organizers. This site as 1600+ remixes and counting, so I don't think one guy is going to be able to keep track of everything. If you want to organize a game or a series and coordinate with artists, then your help is welcome. We also need people to host graphics and maybe set up some gallery software on some webspace to show everything off. Are there any guidelines I should know about for the tiles? The art on the tiles should be related somehow to the game. It doesn't necessarily have to be related to the title of the mix itself; the art can be inspired by the music. Since the tiles are small (100x100px), don't put the actual title of the remix on it. Instead, please put the remix's four digit number somewhere on the tile using silkscreen, a very nice, small pixel font. Please don't use alpha channels or transparency; the tile should be "solid." I made a tile for a remix, but someone else also made one for the same remix. How do we decide which one is the "official" one? Work it out amongst yourselves or get the organizer responsible for that mix involved. If you can't decide, we can let people vote on it. I don't think it'll really come to that though. Do you have an example? Here's one for my first remix, "HeavyArms(LetMeLiftThisLoad)": Can I start yet? I have some ideas! Go for it! —— AAQs (Actually Asked Questions) What background color should I use? Can I use alpha channels? Please don't use alpha channels or transparency. This graphic should be an actual 100x100px picture of something. —— I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. Get crackin'!
  11. The control is 3D. It's not a "close cousin." 3D graphics are different from 3D control. The game is 3D. You move in 3 dimensions. It uses sprites instead of polygons. Big deal. It's still a 3D game.
  12. Honestly it's not really up to me. I just created this thread as a fun community project kind of thing. And let's really think about it here: how profitable can these shirts really be if we decide to make them? It's on thing to sell shirts with the OCR logo: that's iconic. These kinds of shirts, however, are a little more...esoteric. I'd buy two, maybe three, and maybe you'd buy one or two, but can we really justify getting these shirts made if there's not going to be much return? If anyone out there is familiar with selling custom t-shirts, drop your two cents. It might be feasible to do a limited run, but honestly, I'm in no position to be making any kind of decision about how OCR spends its money. I'd like to stress that again: I'm not the guy who makes decisions about OCR's money. Maybe it's possible that we can do some kind of outside community effort (via Cafepress or some other t-shirt site) and donate proceeds to OCR, without OCR spending any money. Aside from that, I have no ideas.
  13. This is the kind of stuff vB 3.7 is capable of: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249460 Please keep in mind that we won't be enabling all of those features.
  14. Also giving this thread a BOMP. Let's get some more shirt designs people! Some based on MY MIXES!! D:
  15. Giving this thread a BOMP. We ever get anywhere with this?
  16. MP3 files you can just listen to. ZIP/RAR you need to extract. Incidentally most media player programs these days support FLAC "out-of-the-box."
  17. If you're going to distribute lossless, distribute FLAC. Don't distribute WAV files, if only for the reason that FLACs can be tagged. Smaller filesize doesn't hurt either. FLACs worked just fine for RotS. And honestly, if people don't know what to do with a FLAC file, they can figure it out. A little education never hurt anyone. Hell, for RotS, I just included a small text file with the distribution detailing what to do with them.
  18. I'm pretty sure you guys totally missed Bleck's joke. It's generally agreed that Sonic 3D Blast wasn't a great Sonic game (though I beg to differ). "The best 3D game since Sonic 3D Blast" is a pretty obvious joke. Oh, and Sonic 3D Blast was 3D. You could move Sonic around on 3 axes; forward-backward, left-right, and up-down. Just because the graphics are sprites doesn't mean the control is 2D.
  19. You can't just google Cave Story? It's a freeware platformer. It's very good.
  20. As much as I was complaining about custom maps last night, I actually kind of like Hoodoo. Grass and Cave isn't ready yet for play. It's too short and the guy still needs to tweak it some more. Honestly though, I wasn't keen on OCR Saturday turning into "LETS TRY CUSTOM MAPS" Saturday. I can't remember the last time I had a chance to play Dustbowl.
  21. Send me an email at darkesword @ ocremix . org if you're interested. I've done some hip-hop style stuff before.
  22. ELECTRICAL COMMUNICATION Hikisakarete 'ru IMAGINATION Mirai shibaru kairo hodoiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxdNJae4U-s For reference.
