What ever became of Prot's Sigma1.ogg WIP
DarkeSword replied to Siamey's topic in General Discussion
Are you even contributing any solid information at all? Almost all of what you're saying is hearsay. This is how rumors and misinformation spread. Cut it out, man. :\ -
Just downloaded Stepmania to try out Sakura no Kenshi. Pretty nice. If you guys ever want to do more stepfiles for my songs and want some renders of the songs with specific lengths (I know DDR usually does them 1:30), then lemme know and I can hook you up with that, along with info about tempos in case you don't want to figure it out by ear.

Yeah I'll definitely try to be at Wizard World again this year, most likely the Saturday of that weekend. I'm going with friends from my old job and school, but it'd be cool to hang out for a while.

Bullshit. Prot never did such a thing, and he certainly wasn't banned or removed from the panel for anything like that. Say what you will about his attitude or the way he treated people--I'll probably agree with you--but don't start spouting ignorant nonsense about his judging practices. Before trying to explain something to someone, make sure you know what you're talking about. -
No, I use Producer edition, actually, with the soundfont player. So that's like $185.

Nice. Though it's not Keshi, it's Kenshi.

I've recently started playing Dudley, and I know what you mean. Excellent boxer; way more elegant than Balrog ever was. I'd love to see them go head to head.

While Makoto isn't considered top-tier everywhere, she's definitely my weapon of choice. A lot of fun to play as; crazy fast with some interesting special moves. Try her out. EDIT: Jacked by Katsu. :\

That guy is awesome. "CAN YOU SEE THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES?"

"Go for broke" is an actual expression. It means to expend every resource you have in order to attain or accomplish something. In the context of Street Fighter Alpha 3, the announcer is essentially telling you to not hold back anything and give it your all. Triumph or die. As far as "I done handcuffed lightning" goes, I have no idea where that's from, and I don't think it's an actual expression, but just think about the words. When you handcuff someone, you've caught them; you've stopped them from going anywhere and you're basically in control. Lightning is fast. Super-fast. If you manage to "handcuff," or catch, lightning, you've pretty much accomplished something that's impossible.

FFXIII confirmed to be multiplatform.
DarkeSword replied to Ero Elohim's topic in General Discussion
Even so, I don't think we won't see Final Fantasy 14 for another ten years. It will probably just overlap with Fabula Nova Crysallis. -

Yeah. Say what you will about the quality of the games or the supposed decline of the series or SE milking it or whatever, but you can't deny that Final Fantasy games, especially the "main" games, are system sellers. -
And so begins the The Great Chthonic War.

This looks so neat. I wish my computer could handle it. o_o

Glad you linked that, Thalzon. As soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought it was misleading. Square Enix's new trend is that Final Fantasy games come in series. Right now, with Final Fantasy XII, we're seeing Ivalice Alliance, which is basically the main FFXII game(for PS2), FFT Lion's War (for PSP), FFT A2 (for DS), and FFXII Revenant Wings (for DS). They all take place in the same world and are linked together. (Technically FFXII for PS2 isn't part of IA, but it's still an Ivalice game with links to the other games). The main Final Fantasy XIII game is going to be on PS3. FFXIII Versus is also on PS3. There are still other games that are going to be on other systems that we don't know. Probably one or two of them will be on a portable system like DS or PSP, and there's probably a cell phone game in there because they like those over in Japan. So yes, the Final Fantasy XIII series is going to be multiplatform, but the game Final Fantasy XIII is not. -
I agree with Coop. I think that making your own podcast about OCR is a great way to start getting involved with the community in the first place, and a "fresh perspective" is definitely needed; a podcast about OCR should be accessible to people who don't frequent the site, and having a host who is discovering things about the community makes it that much more real. Don't worry too much about getting involved with the "community" first. Just do it and keep doing it. If you do a good job and people like it, then all the better.

As an artist, I don't think you can control your Last.FM artist profile. You can only control your Last.FM user profile.

You must not have met many college students.

OCR01095 - Chrono Trigger "Blue Skies over Guardia"

I like this version better; it's closer to what I want the song to sound like. -

I always intend to do a fantastic job. As for permission, I'm fine with it, as long as you don't use the Chrono Symphonic version of this song. Use this version. The CS version was tweaked slightly at the behest of Compyfox for better integration with the rest of the album, but this is the definitive version. -
OCR01095 - Chrono Trigger "Blue Skies over Guardia"
DarkeSword replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I have often heard the comparison between Santorini and Blue Skies Over Guardia made, and that's not too far off. Santorini is one of my favorite songs. While the similarities you hear weren't intentional when I was writing this mix, I realized only a few weeks later that it had been a huge, subconscious influence. So yes, the Santorini connection is there. -
So it begins.

Nope. Media will blame games, TV, and music. The internet will retaliate and blame parents for not doing a good job. The blame game will be played for weeks, months, maybe even years. Eventually everyone will forget to blame the one person who actually deserves it: the guy who decided to pick up the gun and kill 33 people.

That's true. My first job was as a cashier at Target. It wasn't a bad job; a bit hectic during certain times of the year, but overall, a good job. Every person should work in retail at least once in their life. You gain a huge appreciation for the crap that retail workers sometimes have to deal with. As for preparing for a job interview, you should focus on more important things than video game knowledge. Employers always look for the same things: communication skills, the ability to work in groups, etc. Focus on selling your soft skills.
