  1. A creative arrangement with lots of great part-writing and interpretation. I like the use of Indestructible as a breakdown section in the middle. Piano's a bit mechanical but I don't think it's a deal breaker; piano is prevalent but not solo, and I think that with everything else going on, it gels nicely. No big issues. YES
  2. Hey man. Your real name field is for real name only, not for titles (album director, etc). I've removed it.

  3. Do it by regions. Makes the most sense. Consider doing an open call for people who are just vocalists and pair them up with musicians and remixers from the community. There are a lot of talented folks outside of OCR who sing and rap but don't necessarily have production/arrangement chops who'd love to be in on something like this. Would also recommend getting a dedicated production consultant to make sure vocal mixing is tight across the board.
  4. Like the other thread, let's avoid posting just lists and titles. Give some reasons.
  5. Folks, let's try to post more than just a title or a list of titles. Give some reasons and get some discussion going.
  6. I'm personally pulling for a Sonic 3D Blast album featuring both Genesis and Saturn soundtracks.
  7. OCRFest isn't going to happen. MAGFest already fills that niche. A bunch of people checking into a crap hotel for a weekend with nothing to do besides hang out with each other isn't enough of a draw to get people from all over the country and across the ocean to come together. MAGFest has live performances, panels, vendors, and a massive amount of games to play. There are things to do at MAGFest with all of your friends. Like newt said, meetups already happen, usually at someone's house or in a city somewhere. But those are informal social gatherings, not organized festivals with rented out floorspace. OCR isn't going to organize it's own multi-day festival. It's a massive amount of work and a massive amount of money, and MAGFest already does it extremely well and still somehow manages to charge a comparatively low rate. In any case, let's get back on topic, i.e. the post-MAG brunch.
  8. I know you're joking, but I just want to say that this would be a massive undertaking that nobody really has any time for.
  9. this is a stupid idea and you are a bad person for having it
  10. Thanks everyone for coming out to OCR's panels this year. We had a lot of fun.
  11. Nabeel and I are here. Sitting in 2nd floor lobby by ballroom.
  12. Apex 2014 Fri. January 17 - Sun. January 19, 2014 Somerset, NJ - DoubleTree by Hilton Somerset http://apex-series.com OC ReMix is proud to announce that we'll be at Apex 2014, a major weekend-long fighting game tournament event right here in my own backyard in New Jersey, debuting Apex 2014: A New Challenger!!, the official Apex 2014 album by some very talented OC ReMixers (including yours truly!). It's the largest Smash Bros. tournament in North America (and probably the world), and will also feature other games, including (but not limited to) The King of Fighters XIII and Super Street Fighter IV. We'll be there selling shirts and merch, and the first 50 registrants will get a limited edition physical copy of Apex 2014: A New Challenger!! There will also be chances to win the album during the tournament, so bring your stick and your A-game! In addition, music from the album will be featured on the weekend-long livestreams for the tournament, so if you can't make it out to the event, be sure to tune in and follow the coverage! Hope to see you folks there!
  13. As much as I joke about loving being around all the drunk people during Mag, this really is important. Have fun, but know your limits guys. Don't drink so much that you end up forgetting half the weekend.
  14. Apex is the premier Smash Bros. tournament, and since 2013 we've been doing the official album, featuring remixes of games at the event. The past two albums have been a big hit and we're excited to be doing another one. AlexStrife, the head organizer of the event, sent over a final, confirmed list of games for this year's tournament. As always, the list of games is not limited to just Super Smash Bros., but features a variety of PvP games (mostly fighting games): Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Melee Super Smash Bros. Brawl Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Super Smash Bros. Project M Ultra Street Fighter 4 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Killer Instinct (XBox One) Pokemon X/Y I'm looking for aggressive, high-energy remixes, and one slower chill-out track. We want to to do at least ONE track per game. For the Super Smash Bros. games, sources that are unique to those games are highly preferred (such as main themes, menu themes, bonus level themes), but the iconic Nintendo themes used in stages are also fine. For Project M, our very own Phonetic Hero wrote some original music for the actual game, which I'd love to see remixed for the album. We are doing a physical run of this album, and copies of it will be given out at the tournament as part of prize packs and also as promotional material for OCR. We spend the weekend at the event sitting at our OC ReMix table, blasting OC ReMixes (including the Apex albums), selling merchandise (t-shirts, etc.), and generally talking up the site and the community. The music is also featured on the official Apex streams, which see a lot of viewers on Twitch. The past two Apex albums have been very well-received by the organizers at Apex, who are always very excited about the album when we show them the music, and also by attendees at the event, who generally just think it's really cool that a fighting game tournament has an official album. The event takes place in January, so I'd like to have all of the music done by November 1st, because we need to be able to print up physical copies of the album. Last year I ended up cutting things very close, which I'd like to avoid this time around. If you're interested in contributing, please make a claim on a track. Please be aware that I'm looking for skilled artists who are going to bring their A-game to the table. If you're a novice remixer or just starting out, I'm not going to outright deny you from making a claim, but this is not the album to be cutting your teeth on, so you really need to wow me with some samples of your work. Claims - These are the tracks that have been claimed by artists.
  15. Physicals will be available at con appearances after the event.
  16. Ben Briggs has graciously offered a Brawl remix from The Briggs Effect 3, his upcoming album. All music is in, album art is done. Only thing left is CD art and I'll be getting the order in tonight. Thanks everyone.
