  1. You guys are in. Amph, it's your choice in whether you want to do an upbeat track for a downtempo track.
  2. I've updated the first post with a confirmed games list.
  3. A very interesting showing of mixes from the competitors. Good job guys. Bit disappointed there's no voting but I suppose that's how it goes sometimes.
  4. The social group for rRPC. http://ocremix.org/forums/group.php?groupid=19
  5. That's really useful for my Hot Dog Witch Doctor build.
  6. Cool man. Enjoy.

  7. This is more of a request than a competition. Compos on OCR need to have more structure to them than just "make me some mixes and I will pick the best one."
  8. There's no other game series that makes the Mushroom Kingdom feel more lived-in than Mario Kart.
  9. Flex and I put together a really large list of artists who we think would be good. It'll probably start off as a "we call you" kind of thing and then fill out the set with contributions as needed. Flexstyle took a break from OCR stuff for a couple of months to focus on school. I believe he's graduated now and is going to be getting back in the swing of things.
  10. Gonna go with Ristar on this one. Classic platformer with great graphics and a killer soundtrack. Played it religiously.
  11. Let's just say someone helped Fenix develop this compo concept from what he started with to what it is now.
  12. There's very little you can do when encoding your MP3s to affect the "artistic outcome" of a track. Past compos have done this to ensure uniform and consistent encoding across the board for when music is released. That way you don't get a release with a jumble of CBR320s, CBR192s, VBR1s, VBR2s, VBR0s, etc. Remixes for compos are released as batches and are tagged and encoded as such. Anyway I'm glad we finally worked through forum issues so that Fenix could get this compo posted up. Needed to delay the next MM compo and Fenix approached me about this idea at the perfect time.
  13. Other M had music?
  14. A couple of nights ago I unified the look of our cover photos across all of OCR's social media accounts. I used a very vivid orange design with the OCR headphones logo, sort of as a tribute to OCR's past. Some people wanted wallpaper so I put together two sizes. There's a 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 available on my DeviantArt page. Enjoy!
  15. Your dedication to good metadata makes me cry tears of joy.
  16. Looks cool. Only OC ReMixers are allowed to post their music in Community though. Moved to PYGR.
  17. Don't minimod. Anyway, posting a thread and then making the contents of the first post "That is all." isn't something anyone should be doing, regardless of however long they've been here or how many posts they have. Closing this.
  18. Is there a reason you want it pulled?

  19. Not feeling well tonight. No other staff around to run Talkback. We'll have to postpone. Maybe do it another time this weekend.
  20. I had this game for PC. LOVE the main theme. So good.
  21. I am excite!
  22. No talkback tonight because all staff had obligations. Talkback is linked to OCR's YouTube account. Can't give the keys to that castle to too many people.
  23. There is absolutely nothing wrong with voting for yourself in a compo if the rules don't preclude you from doing so. It's not playing "the ass card" to do so, nor is it a "prick move." It's okay to have enough confidence in your own work to decide that you think it's the best entry. It's not unfair or dickish in the slightest. People have the right to vote for their own work. When people run for office, do you think they vote for their opponents? No. They vote for themselves. And that is absolutely fine and okay. In my compos, I usually spell out rules for self-votes: in tournaments like GRMRB, self-voting is encouraged in gauntlets like WCRG, self-voting is precluded, but bonuses are awarded to teams whose members vote. Both of these are perfectly valid schemes. Perhaps Will and Kris can clarify their self-voting policy in the first post. It seems that Brandon checked with the organizers before voting for himself, which means he tried to do things above-board. He just seems to have mischaracterized the organizers as encouraging him to do so when they only indicated he had the option, which is totally minor in the grand scheme of things. In any case, let's try to stay away from calling people pricks or asses.
  24. O'Donnell's work on Halo was iconic. Sucks that he got fired (what are they smoking over here?!), but I don't think he'll have a problem finding work. Maybe we can get him on Halo 5?
