Well, yeah, I should have figured there would be some people who would take interest. Anyway... I mean, sure, I can see the argument for seeing how the Tony Hawk's engine was used on the DS and created into an extensive title, but the fact remains that it's something that we've seen before on prior consoles, and we also figure that the context of skateboarding can only seem to appeal to a limited set of gamer types. That's what seems to worry me most; not how much it pushes itself to have fun or whatever. To most gamer types, it could just look like something created solely for the MTV generation.
-
I wasn't referring to that. I was referring to Rexy's post about the new Crash game. Context. No offence to Kak, but Phth's quotation could apply to both situations if you look at it this way.
-
Gee, that's why we shouldn't trust IGN. Mind, as long as I'm here, did anyone find their review for Crash Boom Bang to be a little harsh? I mean, I am fully aware that it's going to be a heavily awkward game to go through, but everyone else seems to be giving it mainly 4s according to GameRankings. Surely, the people at IGN are denying the thought that it can't be worse than Bomberman: Act Zero.

It's too early for me to figure out a style on mine yet, but once I'm done with the main bulk I would love to hook this up with a guitarist in the scene. That doesn't mean it'll be pure rock; it's just to give it that little bit more of an edge, if you know what I mean. Spunodi, I doubt that anti-groove bias would be a thing to worry about at ThaSauce. I think you picked a pretty obscure Sonic game (at least in my point of view; never touched a Sega CD in my life) so that could mean why there weren't quite so many responses and whatnot.
-
Oyeah, I forgot about the whole Magus thing. That actually makes *exactly* 2/3 of the remixers. Nonetheless, I'm glad to see it arriving in GenDisc. Surely we'll see some good personnel come into all this too. And now, back to work
-
...actually you're right When waiting to appeal for Children of Erdrick to reach General Discussion, the initial decision was 75% of tracks to be filled in, not 66% as was revised soon after. I'm sorry if I was a little slow. Anyway, I'm not sure if it is 2.07; 17 spots taken divided by 26 available places = 0.65 to two decimal places; multiplied by 3, you would get 1.96/3, so we're not quite 2/3s of the way yet, but I'm sure that Darkesword won't mind as long as you know where to look to get that last push if he thinks it's still not quite ready.
-
I think he's on the East Coast. But the reason why I said wait until 20 tracks are taken is because of the project rule of having 75% of your remixes allocated to musicians before you consider making the move to GD. I know that it sounds problematic to get through, but this is what promotion is for; go on and bug people around the forums about it

PS4 orchestral project discussion (on hold for awhile)
Rexy replied to Claado Shou's topic in ReMix Requests
It's alright, but to some of us, it'll sound like either an indirect Chrono Symphonic sequel, or something in an entire suite of symphonic suites (which if that is the case you need to press on and do some more ). I think the only idea that came into mind for me is "Fantasia Star", though odds are people would think of better >.> -
I wasn't talking about what it got in return, Kyle. All I was saying was that their home bases were particularly different. Bound Together had a different base as it was already, having centered itself around VGMix/OneUpStudios for most of the time, so why do we have people who think of comparing an almost complete OCR project to something that's pretty much entirely different? Nonetheless, I might as well shut up
-
I know that people would even seem skeptical over this, and I definitely said this a few months back, but if you want a hand or two, I'll be happy to contribute. Often times I'm very open minded over various source tunes whether they're left aside or not, and on top of that I feel that whatever task I've been given, I can be able to manage it. Plus, two spots at OCR already wouldn't hurt Either way, most of your personnel sounds good to hear. I am pretty sure that something really promising would come out of all this, and I'm sure you've got the bones to pull it off. Keep it going
-
Bound Together doesn't count. I know some people would like it, but at the end of the day it's not an official project. Anyway, yes... lemme at those previews

I spoke with Darangen not too long ago, and it seemed as if he seemed to forget about the track. I hope he seems to find time somewhere
-
Its tentative revival date is at January 8th 2007, though that could change depending on the speed of the website staff.

Well I DO have full access again, however bear in mind that as long as I'm floating around the college campus, I can't even use IRC thanks to college firewalls. The only way I can be given a direct conversation to is through either MSN or Skype.
-
In terms of writing, do you mean the arrangement of the drums? I'm sure I'll be able to fix any quirks in there at least. And if by the mixing you meant your input for that matter, I'm sure that'll be something to work upon.
-
Eap O_o Well I'm actually back at campus, so I can still get back to working on it. From next week I will be able to access the source files again, should you want me to get on with it. Also, what happened to Hemo just out of curiosity?
-
Ah, that explains everything. I apologise for jumping into the wrong conclusion.

They should all be here for the taking.

PS4 orchestral project discussion (on hold for awhile)
Rexy replied to Claado Shou's topic in ReMix Requests
Yeah, I too would go with some Phantasy Star coverage down here. Basically, OCR is all about praising game music, no matter how popular or obscure it is. That meaning can seem to vary on just about anyone. In my case, games like Tomb Raider can get really popular but have little remix coverage, meanwhile there are games like Chrono Trigger that never got released in my home country, or even obscure yet, titles like Seiken Densetsu 3 which never got released outside Japan, yet those two managed to hold some well received coverage to call their own. On top of that, Geoff Taucer and The Prophet are both working on a Radical Dreamers project together right now, so I think there should be a little more time to pass before Chrono Cross could even come into consideration. So yeah, I may be blabbering on in this post but I hope this gets taken into thought. -
That's true. The Overture collab for Children of Erdrick was scrapped and left to a single figure to do the job. But either way, I'm seeing that this is steadily making headway. Though, to tie in with the 75% fill quota rule that was mentioned in the FAQ, I'd probably say you'd aim for at least 20 filled spots before you start raiding GenDisc. I hope this is some kind of help.

Most of Kirbymixer's tracks are at VGMix, though it's hard saying that now ever since that site's down at the moment. I think the only two remixes that seem to be in mere existance at the moment is "Drops of Dreamriver" from Rise of the Star (which Nineko linked to) and his sole entry into the PRC "I See Light", which ironically, covered some Kirby 64 music
-
Koelsch, the guy you quoted has more than five personnel on his project, though I wouldn't be as harsh as he was saying though. As much as I appreciate your sax work, I'd say try not to make it sound like you were attacking the wrong guy(s). My apologies for posting that message in the Xenogears topic by mistake

I think the best idea to go about this is to track down any Mario specialists. Mind you, what kind of genre do you have in mind for your arrangement; is it rock? Is it trance? Is it salsa? (actually scratch that last suggestion ) It would also help if you are able to get out there and promote the project a little more. Being stuck in the Requests forums is tough, and I learnt the hard way with the Dragon Warrior project in its first month or so. From project experience, I would advise you to PM anyone and everyone about it; if you have thoughts of any specific artists covering specific songs (like you did when contacting me to do Cortex), ask them. If that falls through, go through your next choices in line and so on and so on. I am really sure this will help things out. On top of that I will be able to arrive at the Liverpool campus on Sunday, and once I do I will be able to start work on my arrangement. Odds are I may need to find a guitarist myself to help cover some ground, but we'll see what happens

That's true, but why did you censor it? You know that anyone reading this will soon stumble across the playlist for that show.
