FL might be a bit clunky when it comes to recording audio in (it's possible but a bit complicated) but as far as arranging, mixing and mastering audio files, with a bit of practice it's just as good as any multitrack audio program.

That pretty much sums the song up.

With the exception of perhaps djpretzel himself, no remixer on OCR has been as prolific, as versatile as Mazedude. His catalog of 34 (count em!) OCRs range from one end of the sonic spectrum to the other and he continues to put out more insane, twisted, innovative tracks year after year. This track is an excellent example of his talent, as is the American Album. If you haven't picked that up and donated, what are you waiting for? It's no big secret that the 'dude is one of my favorite remixers in the entire community. I can't wait for more.

Counterstrike now has a bit more music, but at the time of those mixes, I dont remember there being any actual music. The fact of the matter is, the mixes themselves were nothing more than original "techno" pieces with counterstrike sounds used.

One of my favorite mixes from way back when, part creepy, part experimental, part goofy, part fuckin metal. Honestly, some of the goofy aspects of this mix could turn people off to it, but I find the overall presentation quite cacophonous and joyful. This is some crazy schizophrenic shit is what I'm trying to say. One of the mixes that inspired my own FFX-2 remix, this is a wall of intense crazy sound. You'll either dig it or you wont, imo. I do.

If I build, will you come? Yeah, good point. Audience interaction is key. I'd rather see a small artist who interacts with the crowd than a big one who stands still in one place fifty feet away from the audience. That's just me though. I love standing front row.

Lemmie chip in with some project leader tips, since apparently my project falls under "successful site project." - Paitence. Having a good song is sooo much better than dropping a mixer early on cause they couldn't meet a deadline. Make deadlines flexible but don't let people step all over you. Constant check ups on mixers may be annoying but they keep everyone in check and remind people that you're in charge. - Dedication. A half assed project is just that. You better expect to put in a lot of hours of work on this, keep in touch with your mixers, micromanage all the different aspects (art, promotion, torrent distro, mirrors, etc) or else your project will fail miserably. - Be prepared for drammma. You will not escape it. With mixers, fans, everyone. There will be drama and as project leader, you will have to deal with it. - Make it look good. This probably wont apply to you now, but eventually your project will be released and it had damn well better look good. Get a nice website, make sure all your tags are uniform and neat, make sure the torrent is nice and clean, all that jazz. Presentation is a huge part of the project. - Have reliable back ups on hand. Sometimes a mixer will have to drop and there's nothing you can do about it. At least two or three tracks on DSoP were made after the original mixer had to drop for some reason or another and it always helps to have good people you can call on to effectively mix what you need in a short amount of time. Said people saved my project. - Be prepared for stress. Especially as release nears, expect a lot of stress in many forms. - Be prepared for harsh criticism. If you can't take harsh critics, you're headed for a bumpy road. No matter what you do, there will always be people that won't like it. Get used to it. That's all I got at the moment. Hope it helps.
