Theophany

Nice playing and drumwork. The retro synths are a little weird, but I guess they work. You should check out the Dual Dragons here on ocr. They generally have some pretty cool synths in their metal. Piano sounds a little weak, but the composition is good. All around pretty awesome, though. Not your typical brutal sound... incorporates more melodic elements and instrumentation.

Nice job mixing this. Sounds loud, full and clear. Your vocals aren't bad, you'll improve with time anyway. My only complaint is your track is too long, but that's a matter of taste. I'm not that much into heavy distortion guitar sounds, so it wears off quick for me. Still, awesome work!

I've wanted to make a Metroid album dedicated to Avien for a long time. My idea was a kind of ambient/IDM album which would include a selection of tracks from various Metroid games but still try to tell a kind of narrative (probably more the Super Metroid narrative). I was interested in a kind of cinematic sound that includes elements of orchestral, breakcore, dubstep, ambient, etc... but taken in a more emotional/melodic/ambient fusion kind of direction. I haven't really pursued it because I never really knew Avien and didn't really feel like I had the right to dedicate something to him. His remix of Maridia is my favorite video game remix of all time though. I've always wanted to explore that lonely, otherworldly atmosphere he captured with his remix on Relics of the Chozo... so I may still have a go of it in the future. I don't know. Whatever you guys end up doing, I'll contribute for sure.

Holy shit, Dan. This is amazing. The guitar performance is crazy good. I don't think I've ever heard you play that fast, and it doesn't sound mechanical at all. The synths sound great, as usual. They have a very analog feel and it fits perfectly with the song. The production is really clean, the arrangement is awesome... quality remix guys.
