  1. Heh, I can tell there was a lot of time spent on refining the plot elements. Even now I'm recalling little touches of foreshadowing disguised as subversive humor. For example someone points out that the King really seems to like pink, which comes off as a joke about his effeminateness at first, but later ties into the fact that the castle was never his domain in the first place.

  8. Thanks, ocre and Species! As always, your suggestions are appreciated. You can also visit the FB event page or drop a line at #solidcomposer at espernet on IRC if you have further ideas.
  9. There seriously needs to be a better way to keep track of this series. The only option is apparently to bookmark the "hip-hop-family-tree" tag and checking it manually (subscribing to boing boing's RSS would give me all the other stuff from the site I don't want). I guess I'll just wait for the collected version as an e-book.

  16. I also found it amusing that a key scene showing Batman's failure features a tablet. I guess he needs to update his tech some more.

  18. I lolled at how the distant shots of Gotham look like a photoshopped mashup of Manhattan and Chicago. Also I like how Catwoman's cat-ears rotate down to become goggles. Storywise, I thought the film brought together the elements of the previous films rather well. The only problem with doing this is that it also brought back the layers-upon-layers-of-deception style of plotting that I didn't much like from Batman Begins.
  19. Listen to it here: http://youtu.be/bcOpZqY5u3s So I've been doing podcasts where I gather sampled clips and make new things out of them. This time I reconstructed "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses so that it would resemble the Treasure Trove Cove theme from Banjo-Kazooie. For added fun I put in some smaller elements from other songs - check if you can spot them. For more info on The Duosis Mixtapes podcast, check out my SoundCloud.
  20. So, I got back from watching it, and I liked it. How about you? Some thoughts: (SPOILS) One of the things I loved about it is that it finally explains why there are convienient cranes everywhere to swing on. Spider-Karma, bro. I'm not sure I can accept the rebooted Aunt May. No matter how old Sally Field is, she's still Sally Field.
  21. I wrote about the recent goings on in my latest blog post: http://blog.jhsounds.com/2012/06/in-sensual-way.html

  23. I did a writeup of the most recent bracket, if you're into that kind of thing. http://blog.jhsounds.com/2012/06/this-is-what-happened.html
