I somewhat agree with Shael, except I really don't think the WIP forums get enough traffic to do their job particularly well. If WIP-pimping is what we want to do, maybe putting the top 10 WIPs on the front page, or running some kind of promotional campaign for #ocrwip should be considered.
I think if you were to have blogs on the site, it would have to be for a price, otherwise everyone and their grandmother would get one, and the server would sink like the Titanic. That, and if everyone had free access to an OCR-blog, it would likely be flooded with inane garbage rather than actual journaling.
That said, I would be very interested in having a way to more closely follow the life/works of established remixers. Maybe make 'em available (still for a price) to only people who have a song posted? I think that might work. Remixer-exclusive blogs could possibly be a very informative resource for newbies, lurkers, and aspiring remixers.
