I somewhat agree with Shael, except I really don't think the WIP forums get enough traffic to do their job particularly well. If WIP-pimping is what we want to do, maybe putting the top 10 WIPs on the front page, or running some kind of promotional campaign for #ocrwip should be considered. I think if you were to have blogs on the site, it would have to be for a price, otherwise everyone and their grandmother would get one, and the server would sink like the Titanic. That, and if everyone had free access to an OCR-blog, it would likely be flooded with inane garbage rather than actual journaling. That said, I would be very interested in having a way to more closely follow the life/works of established remixers. Maybe make 'em available (still for a price) to only people who have a song posted? I think that might work. Remixer-exclusive blogs could possibly be a very informative resource for newbies, lurkers, and aspiring remixers.

Ninja Gaiden has to be one of the best hack n' slashers ever. Mixing that kind of gameplay with Zelda would be intense. I'd shell out good money for something like that.

I think you misunderstood. Those were intended to be two separate comments: 1) The comment about it being in the future was somewhat serious. (I've always thought a dark, dystopian cyberpunk/fantasy mash-up of LoZ would be interesting, and a plot like this would work extremely well for it.) 2) The comment about a Hyrule show for the CW was a joke (i.e., Smallville), though I think it would be interesting to see how badly they could butcher the series. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Funny how that works out. I put a ton of time into the GBYMG remix, and it's still not as good as this one, which I threw together in about an hour. I guess I'm just better with rock music.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes, I just listen to that violin solo over and over. But then I remember that the rest of the song is awesome too. It's like... catchy elevator music or something. I dunno.

I like. A nice strong melody, but takes a backseat to some funky drums and an overall mellow/ambient vibe. Mellow and ambient are hard to do without being boring and repetitive, but I think you pulled it off pretty well.

LINK:preWIP 1 This really is more of a pre-WIP than anything... I just threw a MIDI file together in the last hour to get a feel for how the final version it might sound. The final version will be all/mostly live instruments + me rocking out with some original lyrics. Since I suck at live recording, this is going to be a collaboration. Currently Sixto has first dibs. AWESOME. I've been hoping for a long time that someone would do a drum-only remix of this song. As OCR's resident percussionist you're just the guy for the job too. I can't give much advice, since this is way out of my area of expertise, but it sounds great! Keep up the good work.
