  1. 20 bucks!? What kind of theater are you going to!? Holy hell.
  2. My buddy and I were taking a MIDI sequencing class that used Reason 2.5. We were making patches for the "Subtractor" synthesizer, and he mentioned that it would be funny if someone took on a remixer name spelled "sinewave" but pronounced "wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" (like the actual sound of a sinewave). I thought it was funny and started using it as my name for all my MIDI projects. I knocked off the last "e" when I realized that the name was already taken on most websites.
  3. Ah. We've got Red Robin in Cincinnati. Absolutely amazing burgers, and it's got a nice cross between a "Mom and Pop" and a "sports bar" type environment. I'd highly recommend anyone who hasn't eaten there to do it whenever you get the chance.
  4. West Chester, Ohio. (It's about halfway between Cincinnati and Dayton. Takes 20-30 minutes to get to either.) Anyone live around here? I've been going to this site since 2001-ish and I still haven't met anyone who lives within 2 hours.
  5. Any recommendations for good PDF viewer/editors? Handwritten character sheets make me crazy.
  6. Well, the second part of the pilot is on tomorrow night (Monday) at 9pm Eastern.
  7. Maybe it's just me being an epic level fanboy, but she was my favorite part of the show. River Tam + Kicking the crap out of a Terminator = Instant geekgasm.
  8. I just got done watching the pilot... I really liked it. How did everyone else feel about it?
  9. I'm trying to picture that in my head... and somehow it always looks like he's drunk or humping something. Or maybe both.
  10. This is crazy. I'm at my wit's end on level 3. I've googled everything I can think of, and the closest I've come is that it has something to do with algebra that I probably don't remember.
  11. This thread does not deliver. Needs more big, evil corporation-hate.
  12. Amen to that. OCR broadened my horizons musically, and also got me more interested in creating music of my own. I'd go as far to say every song I've ever written (be them good or bad) has OCR to thank, at least in part, for the inspiration. It also taught me that there ARE, in fact, girls on the internet.
  13. I wholeheartedly agree. IMO, Halo for the XBOX, wasn't that great of a game on it's own, but the co-op was a blast.
  14. Don't worry. I know better than to trust anyone with the Croaker avatar.
  15. Does anyone remember the sequel "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight"? Compared to so many other games, it wasn't that great, but its modding scene was awesome, and its small multiplayer community was insanely fun.
  16. Well, my computer was so messed up, that I decided to back up my music files, format my hard drive and re-install Windows XP. I'm starting from scratch, and this time, I don't want to download ever spyware-ridden file on the internet in order to find the programs I need to get back in business. So I'm looking for the best IRC clients, instant messangers, browsers (I've already downloaded Firefox), BitTorrent clients, emulators, media players, plugins... and just about anything else that might be useful for everyday computer use. There's plenty of stuff out there, but frankly, most of it is crap, and I don't feel like cluttering up my computer again, just to try them all out. So what do the people of OverClocked recommend?
  17. It's about time. Ah well, better late than never. Looks like it might have been worth the wait.
  18. I was actually going to make another post and mention these guys. They're great. Besides the fact that it's a friggin' rock opera about friggin' Mega Man, it also is chalk-full of catchy, original riffs and melodies. All of the songs have a different sound, so it doesn't get too repetitive (except the 2nd track, which I don't particularly care for). Definitely one of my all time favorite albums.
  19. Cool thread. Do I need to post in a particular format, or is just listing a few music acts ok? Here are some that I like. Splashdown This band is really good, but really hard to describe. Wikipedia says they are a "combination of electronica, rock, jazz, and Middle-Eastern influences." Since the band broke up, they actually encourage people to find their songs online and download them for free. I'd highly recommend the album "Stars and Garters". Our very own Shael Riley This is one of my favorite albums. No, I'm not joking. When I downloaded his album Toybox (which is also available online for free), I was expecting 12 tracks of Music of My Groin (not that it would have been bad thing). Instead I was very surprised to hear a very unique blend of chiptune and pop music which he calls "Bit Pop", and some of the catchiest melodies I've heard in a while. And of course all of this is done with Shael's special sense of humor. Machinae Supremacy This Swedish band, self-defined as "SID Metal", combines awesome riffs and solos with a lot of Commodore 64 SID chippage to back it up. Their vocals are very catchy and melodic. A lot of people I've talked to say the singer's voice grates on their nerves. They have several instrumental songs if this my be the case for you. Personally, I like the vocals, and if you take the time to get used to them, you'll wind up enjoying his unique style. They have 2 albums available for purchase (both of which I would recommend), but they have over 30 songs on their website for free download, in mp3 and ogg format. I'd recommend trying out some of the stuff toward the middle of the list and then check out the other stuff if you like it.
  20. And a lot of people refuse to accept that as cyberpunk. Anyhoo, I think this thread got lost in the Christmas Rush. An OverCoat album thread deserves more than 2 pages. Bump, out of the kindness of my heart.
  21. I agree that it would be nice to have lossless files of OCR music. I'd kill to be able to convert all 1600+ songs to OGG format... but it's just not going to happen. Even if the DJP Cru decided to allow for FLAC submissions (let alone offer old remixes in lossless format), it would be a logistical nightmare. There's almost no doubt bandwidth costs would rise. It would be extremely difficult to keep track of what remixes had the files and which ones didn't. And you can forget about contacting all the remixers. That and it would be a real bitch to upload them all.
