  1. My first thread in over 7 months and no love at all. OCR why hast thou forsaken me? Guess no one is into this kinda stuff. I'll go ahead and bump this once, and if it still doesn't get any replies, I'll just let it die... alone. All alone.
  2. Hey guys. It's been a while. How is everyone? Anyhoo. Lately I've been really sick, which leads to being stuck at home, which leads to being bored as dubs. I never really got into 'em before, but now free browser based MMOs have been helping to relieve that boredom. Unfortunately, most of the ones I've found so far are of the "10-minutes-a-day" variety or just plain suck. Here's some of the ones I've been enjoying. Star Wars Combine: Star Wars stuff. There's no combat system here yet, but I actually like it because it's a lot more than just fighting and leveling up. I haven't done much yet as EVERYTHING is in real-time, but as far as I can tell, the basic premise is joining and working for one of many player run factions and progressing through the ranks. Seems to have a really cool community too. My character is Rex Spiker. Urban Dead: A zombie apocalypse! You can play as either a zombie or any of 8 different classes of humans trying to survive in the city of Malton. Vampires! The Dark Alleyway: This is the game that Urban Dead was based on. The name pretty much says it all. You run around in Ravenblack City drinking humans. If you join, use the link here and I'll get 10 blood. Pardus: I'm still in the tutorial of this one, but so far it's pretty friggin' sweet. Basically, the general premise of the game (btw, I just lost) I've gotten so far is that you pilot a ship around the galaxy earning money in various ways so you can build and manage your own base. The system for economy and commerce is really in depth too. Kinda reminds me of Firefly for some reason. My character in this one is named Cid Reynolds. Anyone involved in these? Know of some other good ones for me to check out?
  3. Ah. Haven't had a favorites thread in a while. I loved Skies of Arcadia.
  4. Keep in mind that you're posting on a website about video game music remixes. This level of dorkish loserness is expected. Btw, I totally feel your pain. People at Wal-Mart give me funny looks when I'm walking around the store during my breaks with a DS.
  5. Pearl: 1461 2677 2209 Posting this in the ClanOCR thread as well.
  6. I just got it yesterday. Pearl: 1461 2677 2209 Posting this in the Pokemon thread as well.
  7. dang, pokemon has gotten complecated since '95 (I haven't played any since the original red version). Can someone fill me in on this stuff about natures and breeding and EV points? I'm only about 20 minutes in, so I can easily start over. I wanna make sure my starter can compete with others online (I picked the Penguin and named it Woober).
  8. I just started working as a cashier at my local Wal-Mart Supercenter. Whoever said that cashiering was mind-numbingly boring was right... it can be pretty repeatitive. However, as far as the employer itself, I've actually been suprised at how good of a place to work it is. I get paid very well, and they give me 38 hours a week. It's got good benefits if you work full time, and even if you work part-time, you still get a nifty 10% and they'll match you $0.15 to every dollar if you buy Wal-Mart stock. At least at my store, the rest of the staff and my superiors are for the most part nice and reasonable people. It's weird, because I think Wal-Mart is the first job where I think my co-workers actually like me, and frankly, I had assumed that I was going to be treated like crap at a store like that.
  9. One time I caught myself reaching for my knife when I wanted to run faster. I don't know if anyone here plays Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy, but sometimes, I'll try to jump to reach something, and if I can't jump high enough, my first reaction is to see if I'm out of force points. I also remember trying to run up a wall one time by running at it and hitting jump twice... that didn't work out so well.
  10. I'm gunna have to disagree with you on some of these. I really liked OoT a lot better than MM, and Halo 2 absolutely sucked. Max Payne had an excellent sequel... the gameplay was almost exactly the same, but the storyline was unique and definately went down an uncharted path as far as most games go.
  11. I was under the impression that he was just another one of those lurkers with a high postcount, like myself. He's probably still around and will respond pretty soon when he hears there's a thread about him. Unless he's like me... then he'd wait to see how much people missed him before he returned.
  12. I freakin' missed the first 40 minutes of it because TiVo messed up on me. Anyone care to fill me in?
  13. http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor14/survivors/anthony.shtml "Star Wars: Night of the Old Republic" uhhh....
  14. You know there's a search function on the sidebar (which looks a lot like my groin you know). The only thing that would make this funnier is if we found out that he had played the guitar with his groin.
  15. You know what I hate? When I've got a great idea for a remix and then someone else gets to it before I do... Bitterness aside though, I must say that djp and Taucer did the concept far more justice than I would have myself. Personally, I would have had at least one part of singing the melody from the source, but on the other hand, the melody DJP chose to sing is quite nice. I'd love to hear more stuff like this on OCR. A bit short, but still very enjoyable.
  16. It doesn't need to be polished. Just a WIP will do.
  17. To my knowledge, Audacity is the best you're gunna get without paying anything. I'm fairly familiar with the program, so maybe I could help. Could you go into a bit more detail of what your problem with it is?
  18. Badabump! Heya. Both of my songs are gunna be collabs now. 1-02 Where Angels Fear to Tread is with dj.tuBIG/MaliceX and... 2-01 Lefthanded Wolf is with Sixto Sounds
  19. Am I the only one who thinks it would be cool to just make a straight up chromatic scale windchime?
  20. I like to play around with different ways to create different sounds for ambient music. Sometimes the sound I need is as simple as a high attack, high release pad, but other times I'll get creative and record wine glasses or have my brother play cello through unorthidox guitar effects. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that they could share about creating ambience? Of particular intrest to me right now would be guitar effects, but anything from synths to silverware is fair game.
  21. If you're playing against a slower character, it really comes in handy. Also, my brother can pretty much rape me repeatedly with his Up+B attack. That really depends on the character. With a character like Link or Samus that can grab from a range, I find it very useful. Also, a good tactic is to throw them into an explosive item or a teammate who can pummel them some more. If you really wanna be a jerk, playing a game of catch is always fun. A friend of mine (Mr. Monday, if you know him) has an amazing "finishing move" that he like to use. Basically, it's Fox's Grab+Down move, right over the ledge. (It's the one where Fox throws you down and then shoots you). Timing, my friend, time. I use Capt. Falcon every once in a while when I don't feel my relexes are doing very good, but for the most part, Gannondorf's slowness doesn't affect my playing too much. As I posted earlier, you just can't expect to take the "beat them so fast they can't do anything" approach when using him. Not gunna try to argue with you on that one. I pretty much hate him too... but I've met people who can use him quite well. Yeah... I never quite got what made Pichu worth having in the game. Anyone care to explain?
  22. I've actually thought about that before. Frog and Magus in particular would be fun to play as. Unfortunately, I don't believe Nintendo has the rights to Chrono Trigger. It belongs to Square Enix.
