  1. the issue is i just don't want a track that sticks out because it's all super-high-energy and all that. just do it trip-hop or something =) you're one of the best, blind - i trust that you'll do a fantastic job.
  2. the problem with the 360 version is that it was designed to be installed to the hard drive - you get lots of tearing if you don't. the pc version gets off better, but it doesn't work well with older systems. it's a good game if you go for completion from the start. if you don't, it's very, very difficult.
  3. it's one of those tracks that uematsu used occasionally just for the heck of it. i liked the melody when i was listening to the available tracks, and so i jumped on that one. it's nowhere near what i originally thought it'd sound like, either, considering that my first version was orchestratal with drums and guitar, and then i wound up being super-electronic.
  4. what a hack so, if you subbed this, it'd get auto-accepted, right? YES OVERRIDE?
  5. beats and distortion are ok, but the main thing is that it's not racing super fast the whole time, and that it's more of a rainy-day track than a high-energy one. that's the entire limitation. does that make sense? if it doesn't, let's continue this conversation in a pm so we don't give it away =) the biggest issue i've got with vsl is that gigastudio SUCKS. i use kontakt 3, and then you can't use the performance tool.
  6. if they keep it downtempo, i don't give a crap what they make. i wouldn't mind taking a look at what you've got, dafydd, send it my way.
  7. lol =) you're ON! if you want better samples for orchestral stuff, someone just picked up vsl...and it's out of control. i can't wait for a wip! the track's technically not yours until you do one, but it's not like i'm going to let some nobody take your place.
  8. hey, blind, you're like the best remixer ever. your music made me want to remix. but... there's a genre restriction on this project that will limit anything on it to more of a downtempo kind of feel. i know it says electronica, but it's supposed to be more trippish and less house-y. if you don't mind doing something more rainy-day, you're totally in without question. hey, cn, let me know when you've got more of a wip, and send it my way. looking forward to hearing it.
  9. two issues. not finding the soundfonts you want is an obvious one - you need to download some more free stuff. or just make your own synths using the presets provided in other synthesizers (3xosc, ts404, sytrus) as a basis. you'll develop your ability to create the sound you want soon enough - but you need to play with it a lot. as for finding the melodies you want specifically, noodle on a piano until you get something close to what you want. don't worry about chords or any of that jazz, just do your melody. once you've got a good idea there, start getting that info into your piano roll.
  10. i thought i was the only person around who actually drank that stuff. not on a regular basis, mind you, but on the rare occasion that i actually drink anything, that's my chemical of choice.
  11. i like how my track is so generic that no one notices it. the first two tracks, the ones by nutritious and audio fidelity, are really spanking. love them both. nutritious's track is really well crafted - excellent use of original and vg material.
  12. winamp is free, you know, right? can't you just load the gbs tracks into a gba emulator to listen to them?
  13. i'm already scoring a game for xbl, so i know a little bit about the technical limitations and what not. i'll send you a pm with the writeup thing i send to most people looking for a composer. also, you're in the right forum =) don't worry about it.
  14. don't know crap about music? what a tard. like that poster (who i doubt is over the age of 16) knows anything about what we do here.
