  1. again, you're too broad, dude. how to create music from scratch? what kind of music? what length? using fl's included stuff, or plugins, or what? you need to know what you want before you can find it - first rule of research. take a song and make a mix - i'm assuming you mean rearranging it for remixing. do you know any theory? can you read music? that's your basic idea, there - listen to the song you want to arrange, decide on what you want to do to it (slow it down, change the meter or key, add instruments and harmonies...), and then do it. same thing - you need to know what you want before you can just dive in. how to use the program to its fullest? keep trying, dude =)
  2. rama had a half-done version of her at some point with a big black box over the goods. i totally pm'd him about it and everything
  3. i spelled it wrong. tuvan singers are a totally different harmonic basis than normal singing, so no, autotuned stuff can't do it. maybe delay llama, but that's more synthy. where's it from? i'm really curious now.
  4. i kind of want the sidebar back, i liked using it for navigation purposes. maybe a setting in the user CP to disable or enable it?
  5. hi, i got a baby. how do i take care of it? you'll get approximately the same amount of useless answers to both questions, because they're such broad questions. got anything specific?
  6. i love omnisphere a LOT. the tuvan throat singers are fantastic, and the variety of choral and percussive elements are so much fun to play with. where'd you find the taiko/orchestral tom samples? edit: tuban /= tuvan
  7. whoa, john revorendo and prometheus are the same guy? that'd explain why i've not really heard of him but love his stuff.
  8. get the western digital caviar black model, preferably a sata. it's an awesome drive - i've got two.
  9. i can guarantee you it's not under warranty at the moment - at least, your data isn't. just buy a new external case for twenty bucks and slap the new drive in. make sure you know what kind of case to buy, first, but it can't be that complicated.
  10. oh, i totally will. i'm not really ocd about anything else, but i like an organized workspace where everything can be swapped out and adjusted when needed.
  11. they're lossless, so yes, they're that big. looking forward to finally listening to the whole thing. huzzah, shaun! edit: who did the website? oa? it's bloody fantastic. love the popup song info. really well-designed, from a graphics standpoint.
  12. check your email, broseph. i sent you a highly important email.

  13. sounds like the drive's dead. it might, however, just be the case that crapped out. try taking the hard drive out and sticking it into another case (or your desktop) and seeing what happens.
  14. lol, we hear this question so often. really, everything you need is in that forum. you just need to read it a few times for it all to sink in.
  15. yeah, it's your processor. those processors are like five or six years old now. if you want recommendations on a new, cheap, system, send me a pm. realistically, anything that's a core 2, at least 2.5ghz, and at least a dual core is more than enough to kill those programs. if you use moore's law, you'd be able to calculate the exact difference between a celeron m to a core 2 duo - say, a modern chip like the 8400 or the 7400 - at around nine to fourteen times the processing power. remember that a quad isn't necessarily a four times increase in system speed, rather it's a four times increase in raw computing power to a system that multithreads properly (fl studio multithreads relatively well, but kore does not).
  16. I'M SO ANGRY THAT THE SIDEBAR IS GONE I'M MAKING MY OWN FORUM no banz plz kthnx
  17. i'm pretty sure he already did.
  18. i'm already on tap scoring a god-sim for PS3 and a gauntlet-style action game for the 360 arcade, so expect to see more in the future =)
  19. so when you're all down to that one last track that no one wants, i'll take it. i seem to be the gravedigger of tracks on albums, lately.
  20. a really, REALLY simple way to do it as well is to use butterfly clips, binder clips, whatever you call them (big triangular black clips with silver wing tabs to open them), and just tack them to the back of your desk with a thumbtack or nails or something. they're easily adjusted and you can just lift the damn things off of the desk when you need to move them. i'm crazy about desktop organization. like, i'm custom-building a desk with my dad next year when we move to a real house instead of this tiny-ass apartment we live in right now.
  21. as soon as amazon delivers it, i will be!

  22. it's been an alt a few times since i've been here, so it probably got deleted on one of the forum transfers.
  23. the second one, xenon. hey kid. just fyi, people who frequent this board know what's going on. i'm actually a musician on the Essence of Lime project, i think, although it's been months since i ever did any things for it. besides that, i'm only doing this because i think it needs to be finished - this project chronicles a significant range of the history of OCR. i could care less about the game - it's the music that interested me. the game felt really boring to me. i'm not much of a handheld gamer. i honestly went through the soundtrack, picked out two of the tracks i felt would be the most difficult to arrange (animal house and face shrine) and did them, for the challenge more than anything. personal feelings aside, don't compare or rate the albums next to each other. there's no way to compare, say, radical dreamers to a game like ff7. not only is the range of styles and music significantly different, but the size of it, the nostalgia factor (basically no one has beaten radical dreamers, including me, where ff7 is one of the most popular games of all time). this project won't even be close in terms of scope as the ff7 project, and the overall feel will be different because of the genre restrictions. when you look at an album, don't think it's better or worse than another one. just look at it from the perspective of any remix - it may not be your favorite genre, or the way you wish it had been arranged, but it's still a unique piece of music arranged by a unique person who has feelings and a personality and a life outside of providing YOU with free music. that's why schedules are never followed, and awesome WIPs never get finished, and every track isn't a masterwork like some unnamed tracks on this website. tl;dr version: this won't be on the same level as ff7. not every track is 'pillar of salt'. suck it up.
  24. wow, you're hitting all the projects, aren't you? a word of advice. projects never - NEVER - come out when they're scheduled to. ever. just wait, don't try and figure it out. it's like the second coming of christ - like a thief in the night, when no one's expecting.
