  1. check your email, broseph. i sent you a highly important email.

  2. sounds like the drive's dead. it might, however, just be the case that crapped out. try taking the hard drive out and sticking it into another case (or your desktop) and seeing what happens.
  3. lol, we hear this question so often. really, everything you need is in that forum. you just need to read it a few times for it all to sink in.
  4. yeah, it's your processor. those processors are like five or six years old now. if you want recommendations on a new, cheap, system, send me a pm. realistically, anything that's a core 2, at least 2.5ghz, and at least a dual core is more than enough to kill those programs. if you use moore's law, you'd be able to calculate the exact difference between a celeron m to a core 2 duo - say, a modern chip like the 8400 or the 7400 - at around nine to fourteen times the processing power. remember that a quad isn't necessarily a four times increase in system speed, rather it's a four times increase in raw computing power to a system that multithreads properly (fl studio multithreads relatively well, but kore does not).
  5. I'M SO ANGRY THAT THE SIDEBAR IS GONE I'M MAKING MY OWN FORUM no banz plz kthnx
  6. i'm pretty sure he already did.
  7. i'm already on tap scoring a god-sim for PS3 and a gauntlet-style action game for the 360 arcade, so expect to see more in the future =)
  8. so when you're all down to that one last track that no one wants, i'll take it. i seem to be the gravedigger of tracks on albums, lately.
  9. a really, REALLY simple way to do it as well is to use butterfly clips, binder clips, whatever you call them (big triangular black clips with silver wing tabs to open them), and just tack them to the back of your desk with a thumbtack or nails or something. they're easily adjusted and you can just lift the damn things off of the desk when you need to move them. i'm crazy about desktop organization. like, i'm custom-building a desk with my dad next year when we move to a real house instead of this tiny-ass apartment we live in right now.
  10. as soon as amazon delivers it, i will be!

  11. it's been an alt a few times since i've been here, so it probably got deleted on one of the forum transfers.
  12. the second one, xenon. hey kid. just fyi, people who frequent this board know what's going on. i'm actually a musician on the Essence of Lime project, i think, although it's been months since i ever did any things for it. besides that, i'm only doing this because i think it needs to be finished - this project chronicles a significant range of the history of OCR. i could care less about the game - it's the music that interested me. the game felt really boring to me. i'm not much of a handheld gamer. i honestly went through the soundtrack, picked out two of the tracks i felt would be the most difficult to arrange (animal house and face shrine) and did them, for the challenge more than anything. personal feelings aside, don't compare or rate the albums next to each other. there's no way to compare, say, radical dreamers to a game like ff7. not only is the range of styles and music significantly different, but the size of it, the nostalgia factor (basically no one has beaten radical dreamers, including me, where ff7 is one of the most popular games of all time). this project won't even be close in terms of scope as the ff7 project, and the overall feel will be different because of the genre restrictions. when you look at an album, don't think it's better or worse than another one. just look at it from the perspective of any remix - it may not be your favorite genre, or the way you wish it had been arranged, but it's still a unique piece of music arranged by a unique person who has feelings and a personality and a life outside of providing YOU with free music. that's why schedules are never followed, and awesome WIPs never get finished, and every track isn't a masterwork like some unnamed tracks on this website. tl;dr version: this won't be on the same level as ff7. not every track is 'pillar of salt'. suck it up.
  13. wow, you're hitting all the projects, aren't you? a word of advice. projects never - NEVER - come out when they're scheduled to. ever. just wait, don't try and figure it out. it's like the second coming of christ - like a thief in the night, when no one's expecting.
  14. a fantastic way to organize cabling is to install a pegboard behind your desk, and route all cables using the hangar clips that come with it. you need the extra deep ones that allow the wires to just sit on the rack. another way is to use some brand of ikea wire tie rack that allows for the easy routing of cables because it sits like a flexible tray behind your desk.
  15. from the depths of the earth comes...UNDEAD THREAD.
  16. oggdrop is the best ogg encoder anywhere. i love that stupid spinning fish =)
  17. the centroid is the circular thing you see in the third screen. it's basically a foundation for the blocks to settle on, allowing you to continue to build upwards until you clear a tower and get the points for it.
  18. i can't wait to play that damn game!
  19. hey, everyone. i'm really excited to announce that the iPhone game developer i've been working with for the last ten months, Rogue Pirate Ninja Interactive (RPNi), has officially released our first game for the iPhone and iTouch, iRis AG. iRis AG/iRis AG Lite $1.99/Free (!) the basic premise behind iRis is that it's an inversion of Tetris's gameplay. instead of moving and manipulating the blocks to fit into the base, you spin the base itself - a circular centroid that each block attaches to - and allow the free-falling blocks to latch onto it. it's a premise similar to tetrisphere, the n64 game that i tried to get a project going for (before getting bored and stopping). here are a few screens for our game. in terms of the technical side of things, iRis AG uses a custom-built engine, geWiz ES, created by OCR's own Johannes_Von_Luck. with over 80 thousand lines of code, the engine is a technical feat of engineering in and of itself, considering that johannes basically did everything himself in a relatively short amount of time. the game features a colorblind mode, settings to take advantage of the extra power of the 3GS, and a widescreen mode. now, why am i pimping this game? easy. i wrote the entire soundtrack for the game, and did all the sound effects as well. as my first shipped product, i'm very happy with what came out of it. the biggest limitation, besides the crappy speaker on the iPhone, is the fact that i could only use one key for the whole OST. because of the nature of the game, tracks had to flow into one another with very little outro or intro, so the entire soundtrack is in D minor, with some slight variations on the dominant and subdominant. another reason for this was that the sound effects, all of which are pitched and not just noises, are used for the whole game - meaning that every song had to be able to use D minor-themed sfx. update: the game is being sold in the App Store for $1.99. the free version, iRis AG Lite, is available for free. the OST is freely available from the website, at this link, as well as some wallpapers made by our artist. i'd also encourage you to look at the website itself, as johannes and our web dev Jaelle has done a lot of work on it. here's a video of the gameplay. links: Rogue Pirate Ninja Interactive Official Website - info about the devs, game, and other random topics. there's also a support and conversation forum. RPNi's Twitter account - johannes is very active on this. RPNi's YouTube account. we'll post gameplay videos and teasers for our next project here. RPNi's Myspace account. 'Nuff said.
  20. damned is damned, dude. he's toast.
  21. yeah. interestingly enough, i hold for that person no ill will. it was his decision to steal my computer that got me into the world of building desktops. that in turn got me the cash to buy my 360. two major events in my life =)
  22. semetrical obviously refers to semen.
