  1. DAW = digital audio workstation = reaper, fl studio, reason, etc. the music programs ARE the DAW. alternatively, DAW also refers to a computer set up solely for music work.
  2. not really sure what you're asking. if you've got a big monitor capable of displaying larger resolutions, then the best picture possible on that monitor is done using the highest resolution in-game, so that there's no stretching taking place. playing a game at 768 when it's on a monitor capable of 1050, 1080, or 1200 on the vertical side means you'll get a picture that's far less clean. an 8800gtx is horribly inefficient with power, too. not really worth the money, all told. if you've got a large display, it's worth investing the 160-180$ into a gtx 260 core 216 (don't bother with a stock 260). it's a huge performance difference - think 40% different than a first-gen 8800gtx.
  3. well, that too.
  4. this is a pretty good explanation as to why i'm getting the game.
  5. i can't wait to put this game on the shelves on oct. 13th. working every tuesday morning really makes my week =)
  6. i should point out, original poster, that most of the answers i've got to questions like the one you just asked will generally be 'google'.
  7. if you know anything about coding websites, you'd know why it's been so many years and no one has touched the damn site. if you want to get into deim0s's code, i'm sure virt'd send it to you as a joke. that shit was horrid. the main reason vgmix hasn't done a thing in the last several years is because no one has done anything. virt's busy, sure, but it's been years since vgmix was hacked. if he and his crew actually cared enough to get it up and running instead of the kludge that's up now, it'd be up and running. that's what it comes down to. he's content with the 'norm', and so as a result nothing's been done.
  8. that's pretty damn poor, then. at least in my opinion.
  9. holy shit, furby!
  10. urgh, i miss all sixteen minutes of that. if you find it, can you up it somewhere? i truly miss that song.
  11. thought that link looked long. i'll fix it =) thanks for the heads up.
  12. does anyone else think that this is an uncharacteristic post of our dear darkie? no punctuation, no smileys...if it was close to april fools, i'd say he was hacked.
  13. good luck on your gres today, shaun. you could always run a project like i am with link's, though - i send a pm once and a while, write a song occasionally, and let the remixers provide the impetus. two schools of thought. pushing people totally gets the music out the door on time, but sometimes it's better to let things cure over time rather than trying to rush them.
  14. you can get fl products for 10% off through the affiliate link that any customer of fl has in their 'my fl studio' account on the fl website.
  15. it's entertaining, don't get me wrong. it's definitely not a 60$ game, though. maybe 25$ or 30$. it's the definition of a good rental - short and sweet.
  16. you might not want to post that fact. you could always buy it from imageline, since they're the ones that sell it. fl studio's website would help. google assists on this kind of questions too.
  17. continuing to ask questions is the best way to get your questions answered. also, your sig is too large. i'd suggest shrinking it to the 250px limit before darkesword changes it to a line of text or something.
  18. my name is mephisto, not mephesto.
  19. a new connection does not a better picture make. updated to today. so i'm running out of room again. if you have posted in this thread in the past, delete some of your crap that you don't have or aren't selling anymore. as i run out of space in the sale section, i'll be deleting the oldest thing in different sections to make room. for example, darklink42's mountain bike, and slygen's collector plates. i'll also be reducing descriptions whenever possible.
  20. looks like you'll need several copies.
  21. aw, thanks stevo. it's really cool, isn't it? there's a lot of funk inherent in the phrasing he uses, and once you get into the piece itself you really hear some awesomeness. incidentally, in the piece for sax quartet i was the baritone sax player. the low one that does string bass parts the whole time =)
  22. if i get really into it, i'll take a notable fragment - probably no more than a few notes - and work them into a 'medley' of sorts. it'd be pretty artsy, though - you'd have to know that they were there to recognize most of the clips, since otherwise it'd be a horrid combination of random pitches.
  23. it's probably illegal to release it, since taucer's girls are all under age. consent forms, legal documents, blah blah blah, all to confirm that it's not actually kiddie pr0n.
