  1. too distributed a userbase, but magfest's concerts are about as close to it as we get. blind did a set last year that was supposed to be pretty off the chain.
  2. if it fits, it works. 2.0 is completely backwards compatible with the original model. (hint hint i talk about this in my guide so people don't ask these questions) (hint hint google)
  3. he's totally thinking about tapping that. edit: TOTALLY! (for those who've never met her, like me, this is disa)
  4. doesn't seem to work with aftertouch in omnisphere, but i can make massive and gofriller work now =) now just to figure out the change channels thing =)
  5. it includes the mITX form factor in the thing, it just doesn't have info about mobo/cpu combo packs other than the atom. if you just write them and ask, they'll add it in in the next version (that's how the atom's in there, i wrote and asked them and they added it the next day). i've never had a problem with nvidia cards and ati boards, but go ahead and try to swap it out. if you're having the same issue, it might be linked to the ati board not supporting legacy cards (the 7600gt is what, three years old? four?).
  6. stevo, you haven't called me in six months. who doesn't pick up their phone?
  7. to be really honest, find the board you want on newegg and then go find it on tigerdirect. newegg reviews are a lot more accurate, and there's a lot more of them. just sort by number of reviews and you'll be fine. i can't remember the last motherboard that had 2 pci-e slots and didn't have 3 pci ports, so you're fine there. assuming you're going athlon (the intel e8400 is still $160...!), stick to the newer models if possible. a 3ghz dual-core processor looks sexy until you realize just how slow the damn thing is. you get what you pay for. don't reuse your DDR sticks, buy new ram. it's a significant speed difference, and ram's so bloody cheap you can get two gigs for 25$ at most. psu = power supply unit (gee thanks google). use the extreme power calculator to figure out the minimum watts you need, then add between 20-25% for the effiency rating (if you multiply your efficiency rating of your psu by the watts that it's rated at, you've got how much it feels comfortable putting out). try to hit the 60% range for the amount you'll be using on a normal basis. shoot for two rails if your graphics cards are more than a year old or not that great, or three if they are newer or pretty hungry. if you've got questions about PSUs, my guide in my sig has at least eight or nine pages on information about them. there's a summary at the end of the chapter that'll help.
  8. not to nag, but your statement didn't make a whole lot of sense at first. a maj7 chord is, say, a I7 - a chord that's major and has a major seventh in the top. what you're talking about in your example is a flatted major VI chord - bVI. your progression (at least, what i'm assuming it is) technically doesn't exist in standard notation because the flatted six and seven chords (and a minor 5 with a 7th, for that matter) don't exist. are you actually talking about a flat five? because if you are, you don't mean a flatted five, you mean a i chord that has two moving tones that dress it up. like, let's say we're talking in C minor. your v7-i is actually just a i chord that has a D and a Bb move to an Eb and C respectively. not to be a mean person, but just make sure you're talking about the right thing when you're discussing theory around here. people get lost easy otherwise =)
  9. torrents generally distribute illegal material, particularly when it comes to soundfonts. no offense, newbie, but use google. there's a huge amount of material available right there.
  10. there wouldn't be an issue if you showed up at magfest this year, you fruitcake.
  11. so, if i use that flp you linked on the fl forums, i'll be able to use AT and the wheel? that's honestly all i care about, really.
  12. i'm buying this thing tomorrow, if it makes all my midi data work like BGC says.
  13. i'm still not really understanding everything that jbridge does. everything works on it? how? is it a wrapper or something that brings in midi data differently?
  14. the best part is that they haven't posted since they wrote that whole thing.
  15. wait, you're getting more than 3.5 gigs in your daw in a 32-bit partition?
  16. welcome to games back in the day. you must be a young one or something to not remember these edit: who changes these damn thread titles? mine get 'adjusted' constantly. is this a mod thing? seriously? when did minimodding come back into style.
  17. yeah, i'll try it out tomorrow and tell you what happens. do you have a solution for omnisphere? that's become a big part of my work, and to be able to use aftertouch for the choruses and strings especially would be really nice.
  18. oh, i know. i was actually considering rejoining the project just to be 'that guy' when RTY was posted.
  19. there's a bunch of old lucasarts games on steam for super-cheap, if that counts.
