  1. After hearing "AAA" on Strapping Young Lad's album "City," I finally decided to try the whole album. Quite enjoyable.
  2. I'll see your wtf, and raise you something I found when looking for stuff to use in a thread I made a while back... Creative and well done, but... wtf?
  3. I got my Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection disc recently. It's not relevant in the least, but it's what's up. S'up witchu?
  4. Speaking of tone Perhaps you see no connection, but it does happen for some. A whole host of notes already in place can work against your writing in a mental way as you start trying to create. It seems like it's cluttered and you're trying to write your ideas in the middle of what feels like a mess. I've read how some feel like they're fighting with the original song more than anything because it's already all there, getting in the way. Again, this doesn't happen to everyone, but it happens. Either way, it was merely a suggestion. It's a good skill to further hone when you do get the time.
  5. Someone who speaks the truth. If you're going to do something, do it right. Don't take the easy way out because the end result may/will suffer, regardless of what you're doing (music, visual art, editing, writing, etc.). Perhaps you're not interested in making a lot of remixes, or maybe you are. Either way, it's good advice. Saving time is a good thing, but so is not having to rely on something being there to help get you started. Namely, because it won't always be. I've never used a MIDI in my life, namely because I learned to play by ear. So to me, using a pre-made MIDI as a base just seems off. Backward basically. I know not everyone (anyone?) will agree with me, but that's all just my opinion. Take it or leave as you see fit.
  6. An awfully sneaky way to go about making your own birthday thread, Arek. Say it's your birthday and then try to cover it up by posting nice artwork. But I see through your trickery. This too, is backward. So... ________________
  7. Why would you want heated Revlon, Covergirl, etc. products?
  8. Sadly, no PS3 or 360 to get any shmups there (yeah, I've fallen behind in terms of systems). Plus, I have all six Gradius games (I-V and Gaiden) in various collections on the Saturn (Gradius Deluxe Pack), PS1 (Gradius Gaiden) and PS2 (Gradius III-V). Got 1943 on my Capcom collections for the XBox as well. I actually plan on getting a 360 once they work enough of the bugs out. It may sound dumb, but I already own Raiden IV and Raiden Fighters Aces (grabbed them before the OMG RARE L@@K dipshits could began driving up the prices).
  9. Eh, why not? It's Cave, so it might be decent as long as they don't fuck with the hit box size. Kinda gotten tired of the whole bullet curtain shmup genre though, since it seems to be what most shmup makers focus on these days. It'd be nice if we could get more games like Raiden IV and Under Defeat.
  10. Wait. Where'd bLiNd go? I thought he took some (including my former one).
  11. Engrish or no, I'd avoid that offer like a nude picture of Rosie O'Donnell. Because like said photo, nothing good can come of it.
  12. No problem. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to designing my CD covers for albums I'm going to be releasing thanks to Remixanator. Let's see... add an extra synth here, some drums there...
  13. You sure about that? I just edited my "GBA SP on-screen color problem " thread title in Help & Newbies and the first post still says "Last edited by The Coop; 03-13-2010 at 01:51 PM."
  14. http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/index-sz.html Scroll down to Star Fox 2. Is it one of the MIDIs there?
  15. You can edit the titles of the threads you create by double clicking in that big empty strip between the thread's name on the left and its "last post" box on the right.
  16. http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=2506 Grab WinAmp, ChipAmp, install both, enjoy.
  17. Hey, if Timberland can steal music and make millions, so can I. All I need is a host of lawyers, a posse of some sort, bitches, some gold bling, some odd hand gesture to make while holding up a wad of cash and looking at the camera all pissed for some unknown reason... And that's the bottom line, because the Coopanator said so.
  18. I've got six albums worth of mixes now. Record contract, here I FUCKING COME!
  19. Sins are subjective. What one sees as a sin, another may not. But whether of not you play video games is simply fact. You either do, or you don't. It's also a fact that can change, not unlike saying the light is on, now it's off. It's based on the moment and can change while remaining completely true with each change. For me, labels are something that's not in the most positive of lights. No one likes to be labeled, as they're usually based more around opinions and judgments than any kind of fact. Hardcore and casual are labels, as they're opinion-based. What's hardcore? What's casual? To make those terms factual, you'd have to get everyone to 100% agree on their definitions... and that ain't gonna happen But facts are simply truth. The light's on, the light's off. It's not labeling to state those truths, as there's no opinion involved. I'm a male, I eat, sleep, take a piss, etc. Facts. And if someone plays video games, they'd be a gamer. Why? Because as far as I know, "gamer" came from "someone who plays video games." It was shortened to "video gamer" and then finally reached "gamer." With this understanding, being and not being a gamer is just fact. And to me, not a label. I know not everyone will agree with this, but that's how I see it... which I guess makes at least parts of it my opinion and will likely result in a "divide by zero"-like disastrous outcome as everything I've typed up collapses in on itself.
  20. Well, if you'll forgive the mini rant that's sure to follow, gamer and non-gamer is a simple one in my eyes... If you hate video games, don't touch them and see no point in their existence, then you're a non-gamer. That's no insult, it simply means video games have no place in your life and you spend no time with them as a result. If you play games and find them to be of at least some fun once in a while, you're a gamer. You don't have to log hours a week into the things, you can just play a little here or a little there once in a while. Again, no insult. It simply means that you find them reasonably enjoyable to at least some degree. The difference between those two terms and casual/hardcore for me, is gamer/non-gamer can be clearly defined. A or B. Just ask them, "Do you play video games at all?" and the answer's found. Hardcore/casual turns into this bizarre mathematical equation pulled out of someone's ass that has no real, reliable definition or set of variables. It gets even muddier when you start adding in games (hardcore puzzle game? Casual FPS? Casual hardcore player?) and arguing what qualifies as what. Those terms are based solely on opinion, where gamer/non-gamer is defined with a simple yes or no question. I know some people try and turn gamer/non-gamer into the same kind of nonsense as casual/hardcore, but it's not. Again, to me anyway.
