  1. Then CCCP is your best option, I think http://www.cccp-project.net/ Get that. It'll give you tighter options for video playback, and all the codecs necessary for smooth viewing. I recommend getting Media Player Classic along with that pack [i think it comes with the download] since that can open way more things than WMP11 [like .mkv, .ogm, etc] and it's not as bloated. This pack was created specifically for watching anime fansubs but it'll work with everything else too. Also, you should probably uninstall both RealPlayer and QuickTime, two things which should have become extinct since the development of 56k modems.
  2. http://sidchip.ath.cx/~maktone/ - maktone, maker of many cracktro songs and cute chips [sid files too!] http://www.fairlight.fi/tempest/ - Tempest's site. You know, the guy Timbaland ripped off . He has more than one good song, I wish he'd upload zen-bowling to his site. http://plopbox.net/ - a sort of online chiptune listening site. Not really a radio, it plays the song of your choosing in a java player. Very cool and a good selection of songs. I'm having trouble finding a good archive of music by Radix, which you need. I can email you most of his songs I just need your email address [don't worry it's only about 40 MB] Here's one http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=6071 but downloading is kind of a pain, and I think the filenames are all amiga-style [file extension as a prefix, not a suffix]
  3. Another one, so soon! Actually, this is a mix set! From recent kahvi releases You can read through the .cue file to see which songs he mixed: ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/music/groups/kahvicollective/polaski-rhapsody.cue
  4. music mods are awesome. Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner D: here: http://pweb.jps.net/~olivierl/utils/mpt116.zip just put that in a directory [ex: C:\Modplug\] and it'll work. You'll also need "lame.dll" to convert directly to mp3, which modplug does pretty well. It's also a very fun and capable program to make music with especially chiptunes. OpenMPT sucks hard though. http://www.free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm You could do it with Winamp and DiskWriter, but Winamp comes with mikmod 2 [or something] by default, which is not a very accurate playback lib for music mods. If you want to play mod files [mod/s3m/it/xm] in winamp, I recommend the BASS Module plugin: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=132367 You can also use VLC media player to play mods. VLC actually uses modplug's playback engine so it plays them pretty well. Anyway, I make mod files, and so does Mazedude, but I can't find any of his mods anywhere :[
  5. I submitted 3 songs you might like maybe
  6. I do this quite a bit. You don't want to work with mp3 files though, try going as raw as you can [like .wav or what have you]. I find it's best to sample with a WAV editor like Audacity or Audition. Actually, I pretty much have to, FL doesn't recognize my goddamn inputs, since I have an Audigy 2. Anyway, I select "what u hear" in the channel mixer and record the source into that [could be a flash banner ad on the internet or an old record]. There are several ways to incorporate recordings into your song, and some ways are better than others depending on the type of recording. Since I sample mostly drumloops or vocals, I put them into the FL Slicer plugin and fit them into the song that way. If it's a live performance of you playing guitar or something, you might appreciate the audio clips feature, which keeps patterns and recording takes separate.
  7. I don't know a makdub, but I do know a maktone :3 I'm not really in touch with my local music, though I'm sure there are plenty of talented people around here. This Makdub guy has a nice voice. I see their songs was recorded on KEXP. Pretty much the only decent radio station... anywhere :/ I love the stuff they usually play.
  8. lol, absynth presets all the fuck over
  9. An impossible thing to do. Wait another 50 years.
  10. Now I can say I've seen a young pantsless Shnabubula
  11. additionally, fuck this game it wants some directx dll and it only told me once what the filename was, so I can't really run this game anyway
  12. I found a torrent of the demo, just in case people like pausable downloads with a lot of seeders: http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/17447671/Command+and+Conquer+3 has ~302 seeders as of this post
  13. Two new maktone chips! added 2 new mods. youthman dedicated to tee! cyril
  14. I don't think so, though he is probably still using a Roland SC88.
  15. They came with ACID circa... a few years ago. I have 12 discs full of loops that I've been slicing and processing for the past few years. You might also hear "Heart of Asia" loops all over the place. http://www.spectrasonics.net/libraries/asia.php From commercials to [a lot of] Hollywood movies and especially TV shows.
  16. Check the free music thread, k? It's on the first page
  17. Every anime soundtrack from 1998 to about 2001 or 2002 [or probably even newer] uses ACID loops, in varying amounts. Some OSTs, like those for Noir, are entirely composed of premade loops [i have most of the loops Kajiura used myself]. Most ACID loops are recorded through live instruments so... there you go! Kajiura using them is kind of sad, all she really does is play the loops straight up, with no editing. QL RA is necessary. The samples are... well, they're the ONLY samples you'll find for a lot of ethnic instruments, which is pretty sad. The only free soundfonts you'll find of anything ethnic are things in the GM standard, like Koto/Shakuhachi/Sitar/etc and they all totally suck. There is a free Dizi and Erhu, ancient Chinese instruments, in VSTi format: http://www.chineekong.com/free.htm that's about it.
  18. I wish I got royalties for my music. I've met a few amateur game dev teams before that wanted to pay me based on a sales percentage. They never went anywhere.
  19. One needs only to peruse the Free Music Thread for stuff I recommend you check out - pretty much all of it is electronic. Also, Ansiform is back again! http://ansiform.afraid.org/ pure ambient netlabel. I emailed them at 8/30/06 and just now got a return email today. They say there's quite a backlog of stuff but they'll post my submission, which fans of mine [lol] have probably heard, but it will be anonymously posted on the site, so you won't know if it's me :3
  20. And yes, I have heard of Amanamamniricurmguchi before. Good stuff
  21. RTFM usually 192.168.something.something, then you enter your user/pass. If you don't know the password, well... you're screwed, I guess? You can check here for detailed everything: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
