  1. ok I know this is kinda barebones at the moment(no plugin mixing applied yet), but I was hoping for maybe a little guidance (just a little). I love the source, but the loop isn't really that long and I am trying to figure out ways to flesh this out to at least the 3 or 4 minute range without it being too repetitive. Here is the source and here is my version, which is a bit faster with a higher octave range
  2. Hi y'all. I made a visualizer type video I intend to use for uploading my remixes to YT. I already know one flaw, but see if you can catch it. Or if you catch something I haven't. Come critique it to bits, help me make it better! -- Most recent test:
  3. I've been messing around a lot recently with the soundfont for Golden Sun, applying it to other games, and this is one of the products thereof. I started out by using the same instrumentation as for the Elemental Stars Chamber, and ended up incorporating some of the melody, too (albeit adapted to a different time signature). Any tips on how to improve further would be very welcome! I know there are all kinds of idiosyncrasies at the moment (especially for dynamics and variation of velocities - not sure how much the GBA is able to do), but I'm not sure which aspects I should really be focusing on. Original tracks: (I don't plan to submit this particular track to the OCRemix, by the way - I'm just experimenting~ ^_^) Edit: My biggest concern for potential submission right now is whether unhumanised, raw GBA soundfont remixes are acceptable for submission. And, if not, whether treating the soundfont instruments as an orchestra, and applying realistic reverb and note velocity variation, would come across as very idiosyncratic.
  4. Hello, after posting my first remix here not long ago I tried to use your feedback and made a second one. I kept this in a more classical style. What do you think? 6. The pressure of working on a track from your favorite composer ever ! Couldn't figure out a good way to harmonize the vocals and my lack of knowledge regarding how to write for an orchestra make the string and choir parts perfectible. This, plus other stuff here and there, will hopefully be fixed when I'll start recording everything with more talented and knowledgeable comrades. All of which makes your feedback and advice more than is welcome to produce a cover worthy of this fantastic and obscure song. Original: Remix:
  7. I couldn't find any real recreations of this on the internet, so I remade the entire track from by ear. https://soundcloud.com/map3music/agent-xzx-spectrum-remix original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOZ8rbmlWrk
  8. Let Me know what ya think! *edit: I know I need to flesh out the orchestra. this one might be a while...
  9. So, in my mind this is meant to be the ending of Final Fantasy VI's Opera(since in game it has no ending): Source tracks: ...with a transition into this: ...Let Me Know what you think(it doesn't have a proper ending as of yet...working on that)
  10. I've always liked this tune, and I put together something incorporating two ideas. Edit 4 25 19 Ok, so this is a rough section/rendition that I have posted at the bottom, I am mainly wondering about the "lead guitar". I don't know if it's up to par...besides that, I don't think the balance is quite right.. I am going to have/already have more than this: I am concerned about elec guitar lead...Thanks!:) Edit 4 27 19 I'm still wondering about the guitar mentioned above, but this time I have added an acoustic guitar/flute section at the beginning. That is me playing the flute here:) The timing is slightly off at the beginning...I now realize I had different drivers for playback and recording activated while recording the flute, and with baby, I have so little mic time Looking for feedback on this WIP. My goal is to expand on this idea, lengthen the tune, and have the guitar and flute playing together/question answer each other.
  11. Hello! I lost my password to my old account(Harmonicalifornia), but I had made this remix of a song from the old Robocop game on the Amstrad and Gameboy just recently.. Gameboy version I'm fond of the song much more so from a different game called SS13. One of the SS13 versions Anywho, mine is pretty basic; made some backing music on a keyboard and played lead using my Hohner diatonic Blues Harp in A and mixed it using Audacity. Enjoy! I figure it's pretty much complete as far as a remix could go, I'm self taught in all things music so I think the only real improvement I could make would be in re-recording it to mitigate the sound of pressing the keys on the keyboard but any and all feedback is appreciated! Thank you for your time!
  12. So This is the most recent version. I think it's at a point where I'd consider submitting it. I'd just like to get some final feedback and confirmation. My biggest concern is just that my remix might sound too stiff and mechanical (like as far as the beat and timing). Does it need a bit of humanization? I can't really tell if it does, myself. And if it does, I'm not sure how to go about properly fixing it. Any help at all is appreciated! I'd just like to get some advice and criticism regarding stuff the overall sound quality, synth choices, and general composition. I'd really like to submit this for judging sometime, so I want to make sure I've taken care of all the little details to make it good and polished. A couple specific concerns I had involved the drums and synth I used at 2:10. I want to make sure the drums aren't sounding too repetitive and that transitions between sources are smooth enough. The problem with the synth is just preference, really. Does it actually sound good to other people? I like it, personally, but at the same time, I don't know if it fits the mood of the track. Let me know if anything sounds weird. Any feedback is appreciated. 13. It's kind of a synthwave sandwich with a calm center. Any feedback is welcome. "Still haven't thought of a title yet" The original song -

  15. To Zanarkand is of course quite an iconic tune, but I wanted still to try and create my own version of it. Here I went for quite minimalistic and atmospheric take with really jazzy / weird harmonies intentionally at the end to make a clear outbreak from the original. Hope you guys enjoy it!
  16. Aquatic Ambience with some added original melodies. Little bit of lo-fi, but more of a standard hip-hop / trap tune. Enjoy!
  17. That's my first remix/cover of a Game Soundtrack, so please, leave your Feedback and Tips to help me improve my soundtrack! Thx.
  18. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qGNPmPzMfPGy2Wca5EoSDSAqfJoV2Po6 Hi all! I worked on this mix over the past day, and I've spent most of today editing it. 21. Hiya everybody, hope you all had a good New Year! Posting my third upload here - It's a meditative Orchestral Arrangement of the Song of Healing from Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask. The link to the Soundcloud page is below. Tried to make some changes to the sound in this piece, especially in the strings. Brass sounds a bit too artificially bright, but then that's NotePerformer. Will be putting it through a Sample Library when I get one connected to my Kontakt!
  22. I've been playing around with Battery 4 a little and ended up making a short remix of the Oil Ocean Zone from Sonic 2. Original: https://youtu.be/Ih8c6I1zH7I Remix: It came out pretty decent, but I'm not sure about submitting it. I may add more later. Check it out!
