  1. I wanted to go a slightly different route with this rearrangement. More atmosphere, a dark, ambient piece that still has the trap feel. A few mixing/volume level issues here, but I consider it almost complete. Honestly, my biggest concern is that it doesn't resemble the source material enough to be accepted. Anyway, it's part of a planned album for S3&K. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/890207 Feel free to suggest an alternate title.
  2. Hello everyone! It's me, and I am once again up to no good. Here is my latest work in progress. My goal is to recreate the original track closely and then add new elements on top!
  3. Hey all! First time poster here so I hope I do this right! When Sonic Generations came out years ago one of my favorite aspects of the game was that all of the Sonic stages within it received both "classic" and "modern" remixes. I thought it would be fun to take Sylvania Castle Zone from Sonic 4 Episode II and try to remix it in the style of the classic stages from Sonic Generations. Here's the original song for reference: And here's my version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nq3Wgf4Aljvsaw185UMdf0KvXfyC4LYU/view?usp=sharing I think it sounds okay so far but I thought it would be helpful to get some other people's opinions on it. I also feel like there's something...missing. I can't put my finger on it but it feels like it needs something to give it more energy like the Generations remixes had. I appreciate any and all feedback! EDIT: For some reason I think the google drive link is broken. Here's a SoundCloud link if the other one isn't working:
  4. Hi! This is a pseudo-cover of the theme for Act 3 in Sonic Advance 3, Ocean Base. I already know what I can "improve" to make the track more musical but I'd like to hear your thoughts as well. Cheers! (Note: I posted this first in the wrong category of forums, but since my piece is a really loose remix and also has a lot of original material, I'm not sure whether I should delete my original post yet. Mods can delete the first one if they want.)
  5. Due to the fact that this piece has two different sections that crash together, I'm strongly considering a gapless mix of all the main level themes and the boss themes as an album. I'm not going to make any other commentary, I'll just post the link now. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/885604?updated=1570105545
  6. Here is my concept of Norfair so far if Kenji Yamamoto had recreated it for use in Metroid Prime!

  8. Right now, it's just a concept track made with SEGA Genesis sounds. Obviously, the finished product will not be like that. I've been thinking about this for years, and whether it would really work or not. So far, I haven't found any remixes like this. What is it like? An Insane Clown Posse inspired remix of Sonic 3's Carnival Night Zone music. I always thought that the song Hokus Pokus would blend well with Sonic 3's Carnival Night Zone music, so I finally started this project. I'd like to know if I should go forward with this, knowing full well that I could emulate the style of ICP to the T. Here's the audio link: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/883481 It's supposed to loop, but in the preview, it's not doing so properly. It should be fixed when the audio is published to the site.
  9. Hi! It's been a while since I've asked for feedback. I made an orchestral cover of the Mass Effect main theme. What do you think? Arrangement improvements? Mixing improvements? Instrument swaps? By the way, this song will not be submitted to OCReMix for consideration. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. 10. Lots of issues with this one right now, but I'll hammer them out eventually. Nonetheless, feedback is welcome. Here it is https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/878175
  11. Preview here. Looking for feedback, although I do know what direction I want to take from here.
  12. I thought it was about time this classic game soundtrack got some love. This has been one of my favorite soundtracks since I was a wee lad, and I'm stunned that there is nothing on OC Remix for it. This is my first attempt in a long long time at a remix, and I think it has finally reached a point where it needs some fresh ears. There was going to be a much longer version, but I can't seem to get what I want to work, so after many months of piddling and getting nowhere, I decided a short version would have to do...for now. All instruments are from the EW/QL Hollywood series except the piano which came from Ensemble 88 (which came with my keyboard). This is the closest to the original as it sounded on my beloved Apple IIGS that I have found so far
  13. This is a mix I've been trying to solidify for a few months now. Imil has a captivating, homey feeling that welcomes you in and seats you next to a warm fire. I wanted to take it out into the frozen woods under an aurora lit sky. Poetics aside, this is the product of an amateur playing with equipment that's probably out of his league (EW Symphonic Orchestra and Sytrus), so I welcome any tips/hints/critiques that could help me make this a more complete song. Thank you, and enjoy! Original
  14. Zelda OOT - Lost Woods (Dreamland Remix).mp3 I'm getting serious about polishing this piece of music and wondering what is it missing, if anything. Do I still need to fill it in more? I want to add acoustic percussion to do some of the drum n bass bits. I still need to do more mixing and make better use of reverb and improve the percussion a ltitle bit. Not sure what other polish I could add. My goal is to keep the minimalistic vibe and chiptune vibe, make it overall easy on the ears. ...not sure about the title.
  15. Version 2 of Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger. I didn't like the drum track to the original version I had done, so I changed it up, added a different beginning, among a few other things. Let me know what you think. Corridors of Time (EchoGhost Remix)
  16. Need some help! Have really enjoyed making this remix. My lift music-style version of the FF7 battle theme never felt right to me, but this popped into my head the other day and feels like a much better use of the major key changeup. The only trouble is I can't decide whether to produce a clean final mix, or one with an added vinyl effect, hard compressor with some distortion + dulled EQ to better simulate the kind of sound I'm going for. I've provided versions of both here that are nearly finished - would love your thoughts on the track itself as a remix, but also on whether to go for the flatter but more authentic 'FX' version, or the cleaner but less authentic non-FX version. Thanks for listening either way! Original source theme at the end of the post, in case you haven't heard it before: Original theme: Cheers!
  17. Good Morning OCRemix! I have been holding onto this song for a while and I figured it would be the perfect time to share it! I love this beat, it just reminds me of a story about Cloud in which, I can imagine it must be rough. I wrote this song to resemble what cloud might go through on his adventures though from the original Final Fantasy 7, a classic! it's simply a story I came up with when I heard this amazing tune. it makes me feel amazing to hear all these songs everybody has come up with! This is probably my 6th or 7th run on this song. I hope you enjoy! https://www.dropbox.com/s/vanpri5iv27vx6t/as if i was cloud.wav?dl=0 originally made from Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Arranging the music of 2 songs... 18. Hello OCRemix! Here's one I feel is quite serious. *yes serious* *I will not be held liable for any reason of any sort.* I always have a lot on my mind, this is me expressing it. I've been hearing this remix over and over and was also trying to think of a way to reach out to others. As anyone, we all have issues, but a personal issue I have faced is suicide attempt. I won't get too much into detail, but I am still alive! Also, for anyone feeling this way too, I would truly feel happy if I could speak to you through this song and perhaps show you there is more to what we see, think, and experience. As mentioned before, I would love to touch others through music, but I feel I don't have a soft spoken mouth, I served in the USMC so I have a tad bit of "Sailor's Mouth" and I apologize, so in result I will do my best to censor and foul language if I need to do more, please let me know. Also, if anyone would like to talk to me about my songs I have no problem working with the community to stay within guidelines, as I want to be a solid part of the community you all hold! As a note, in a previous post I mentioned i'm quite novice with editing, this song has no editing done to it, as it is in progress. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3ipnszh7bb7hkz/it won't stop Censored version.wav?dl=0 The Original is here: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01196 By Rellik Arranging the music of one song... 19. Hello OCRemix! I have been a fan of this site for years! I've written to plenty and now I would like some constructive criticism, I personally don't know how to compose or write music at all, but I have been writing for over 20 years and everytime I hear these remixes it makes me want to write more! I'm unsure of licensing and issues with this and that and its quite a concern of mine, is there anyone I can talk to sometime about issues like this? This song's purpose is to bring my feeling to music when I experience driving in my car, the second I heard this remix I fell in love with it! As of right now I have three kids and life is a bit hectic, but I do manage to find a little bit of time to try to put something together now and then. Besides that, this is my first post! I hope somebody out there can feel what I feel when I hear this song, I hear it over and over so I just had to get it out of my system and onto this track! Please let me know what you think, this is Test Run #4 as of right now, until I get some more time and accommodations for recording vocals. I am also quite novice at working programs to provide quality editing, I'm attempting to learn each day as much as I can. I also apologize in advance if I take a while to get back to you. I also have lots of patience and am willing to listen and communicate effectively. I look forward to speaking to many of you, getting to know the community, and making more music! My dream is to touch people though music! I created a link in Dropbox, copied it, and ensured it said "Anyone with this link can view the file." "I Need to Burn Some Gas" Here is where I found the delightful original, Thank you Jewbei & Masato Nakamura! 20. Hey guys! I am new to this forum. I have been a fan of Metroid since I first started playing Metroid Prime around 2003. Here are some tracks I made. Hopefully you can judge from the tracks how much Metroid Prime has affected my creative life. 21. I'm pretty much not gonna be happy with this if it doesn't get a live performance attached to it, so lemme know. If you're interested just to let you know I'm pretty much gonna give you free reign to do with it whatever the hell you want to do. I'll finish the arrangement on my end of course. Shouldn't be too hard. REMIX: https://app.box.com/s/tec3jxbz30qeir9ryuzmu6rf71nri6j6 Source: I took it from 3/4 to 4/4 also.
  22. SoundCloud Link So in light of Luigi's Mansion 3, I made this demo of the main theme in the style of "Love and Marriage" AKA the Married with Children theme. I used FL Studio and my crappy free samples (like Al Bundy I have no money) I arranged it in a Major key to give it that Sitcomy feel but kept the middle part spooky. I contomplated Lyrics but I can't think of any. I'm open to collaborating on this if anyone wants to join in.
  23. Hello! This is my orchestral medley for The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask. It contains various themes from the original soundtrack and some short original segments. I hope you enjoy it! Any kind of tips or criticism is welcome. Tools used: Fruity Loops East West Symphonic Orchestra I started writing some parts using a scoring application as well, but I switched pretty quickly for a faster workflow. I plan to update the score later. (Edit: minor update for some balance changes)
